The Walled Garden Helperby is an intimate and exclusive wedding venue set in the peaceful verdant surroundings of Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire. Built in the Edwardian era, this historic Grade II listed garden is steeped in rich heritage and charm. Here, you can discover four acres of lawns and walkways, a neo-classical cupola and pavilions which provide a perfectly flexible space for your wedding.

Facilities and Capacity

The Walled Garden Helperby is a completely customisable wedding venue suitable for events of up to 200 guests. Within its expansive grounds, an array of buildings are available for your ceremony. The beautiful stone cupola is a favoured romantic spot for wedding ceremonies, overlooking the gardens. Aterwards, you are free to set up an elegant marquee or chic tipi among these landscaped lawns. As you pose for photos, guests can indulge in outdoor games or perhaps a drink or two from a rustic, mobile bar. The possibilities are endless for your wedding reception, from canapes by the fire or live entertainment on the green.

The Harness Room is a wonderful alternative for an intimate rehearsal dinner or post-wedding lunch. Set within the local village of Helperby, this 16-seater dining facility also includes a kitchen and cloakroom for a truly private event.

Accommodation

We have 2 period cottages which sleep up to ten guests: The adjoining Gardener’s Cottage has plenty of space for you and your wedding party to relax and get ready. Light and bright, there’s the perfect set up for your hair and makeup as well as a fully equipped kitchen for those all important glasses of champagne! Nearby, the newly renovated Park View cottage has 2 delightful bedrooms and lots of period details.

There is also a choice of accommodation within easy walking distance in the village for your guests.
