The Plough in Kings Walden is a country pub with something most wedding venues cannot offer: a genuine sense of place. Sitting in the heart of rural Hertfordshire, it is the kind of venue that feels like it belongs to the people who use it, because it does.

Our outdoor marquee hosts up to 200 guests in open Hertfordshire countryside, with views that do the decorating for you. There are no forced themes here, no cookie-cutter packages, and no one telling you what your day should look like. Whether you want a formal seated dinner, a casual garden party, a BBQ in the field, or something somewhere in between, we build it around you.

On the food, we work with Mesa Viva, a Mediterranean-inspired catering team bringing bespoke menus, live-fire cooking, and a philosophy that proper ingredients, properly cooked, are what make a wedding meal memorable. From canapés through to dessert, they handle everything with the same attention to detail.

For photography, we work with Quintessential Photography, capturing the day as it actually is rather than how it was staged to look.

On site you have a fully stocked bar with proper beer on tap, a horsebox bar, kitchen facilities, and onsite toilets. Everything you need, without having to hire it all in from somewhere else.
