Where to begin. The venue firstly is absolutely gorgeous! The getting reading rooms for the bridal party offers plenty of space, the surroundings are beautiful and the food was to die for. Not to be biased - but I’ve never seen such a thoughtfully put together plate of food than at any other wedding, the standard was no doubt high. We were able to set up our reception room decor with the help of staff, our coordinator Chris was very responsive to comms throughout and the process of deciding how the day would run was stress-free. The rooms were spotless, housekeeping and grounds maintenance is clearly kept to a high standard. Even the breakfast food the following morning was fantastic with lots of options to cater for everyone and tasted amazing. All of our guests had the best compliments for the overall experience.
I would highly recommend this venue for the overall professionalism, standard of food and quality service.

The venue is lovely, the grounds are beautiful. Your wedding photos will look amazing. We had a lovely day however there were multiple mistakes and issues with the events team and management which has ruined our experience and now tainted our memory of our wedding day.

The Pear Tree had a Photo Booth which was included in writing for free as part of a booking agreement. I brought this up in a meeting a month before the wedding to which they told me that the photobooth was no longer available as their supplier had finished their contract. That is fine, it’s not the Pear Tree’s fault however it was not mentioned until I brought it up, it meant we had to spend an extra £300 on another Photo Booth and no good will gesture was offered even when we said you agreed to provide this on the basis that we booked that day with you.
Mailys, one of the staff on the events team, was very confusing. In the last couple of weeks leading up to the wedding and it coming to the final payment we were given figures which were not accurate. We questioned this and told them which figure we were expecting to which she agreed that was correct. We then got another figure through to which she was trying to charge us an extra £500 and could not explain where this had come from. Again we said we would pay the figure that we were expecting. Another figure was sent through with an additional room charge on there which should never have been charged to us. We refused to pay this and paid them the figure that we were expecting. This was extremely stressful in the 2 weeks leading up to our wedding.
Then there was the ceremony. I began to walk down the aisle and realised the music is completely different to the music I sent over. I was heartbroken by this as my aisle music was made by my sister and brother in law and never got played. I questioned this later on in the evening with Mailys as I didn’t want to ruin my day. She said she played the correct aisle music and that was what I sent over. I was perplexed by her response and assured her I’d never heard that song before and I never sent that to her. She argued with me about this and eventually apologised saying that sometimes music can get mixed up. I was left feeling extremely disappointed by her reaction to this.
The wedding breakfast entrance. The music did not work. They announced us coming in and then could not get the music to play so our guests were left wondering what was happening. It was embarrassing. They finally got the music to play and then we entered and was announced a second time. I have no idea what the issue was and why this happened.
Once we entered, we realised there was no place names on the top table. The parents on the top table were left wondering where to sit when they got in. I don’t know why this was missed as it was with the rest of the place names, clearly labelled.
I emailed a week prior to amend one of my guests bookings as they no longer needed a Z-bed in their room. This was added to the notes to which Mailys emailed me a document with every guest staying, any notes on their room and this also included guests staying the next day and their names. This is a GDPR breach so I can only hope our details haven’t been leaked as well. The z - bed was never removed from my guests room and it was still there the evening of the wedding.
In the evening the cake was left to one side, not cut up for our guests. I had to request this was done so people could have cake.
We had a sweet station that Mailys said they would set up in the evening so people didn’t eat it all before the evening. This was not put out, I had to go and request for this to be put out.
It’s things like this I shouldn’t have had to worry about during my wedding day or then organise myself during my wedding.
My father complained to one of the management staff the morning after my wedding, mainly about the aisle music and how disappointing it was and how Mailys had argued with me about it. The male was apologetic and took me to the side to understand what had happened. He showed me a WhatsApp chain which had my aisle music on it and the wrong aisle music which was played and said I had sent that through. I explained again I never sent that wrong piece of music through and said I did not send this over WhatsApp, I sent through IMessage. I then brought out my phone and showed him what I had sent and how the wrong music was never sent by me. He apologised and said Mailys must have forwarded on another couples aisle music to WhatsApp and put it under my name. I have no idea why Mailys did not check which aisle music I wanted if she had 2 to choose from on the day. No attention to detail. I also explained to this male member of management about the disappointment with the photobooth and the wedding breakfast entrance mistake and the stress of the wrong figures being sent through constantly up until the wedding. He apologised and assured me they would send me a good will gesture and email me by the end of the week. I still have not heard anything back from them and this is 3 weeks later. It’s disappointing, heartbreaking and insulting. I will never get that moment back walking down the aisle. And to be accused of it being my fault? It’s not okay.

Selecting The Pear Tree for our wedding was hands-down the best decision we made. From our very first meeting to the morning after the ceremony, the experience was nothing short of perfection.

The team is incredibly professional and accommodating. We had multiple appointments to ensure every detail was captured, and they never made us feel like we were asking too much. We actually requested a completely bespoke table layout that the venue hadn't attempted before; they didn't just "make it work," they executed it flawlessly. They handled our decor with such care, setting everything up exactly as we envisioned.

The catering and waitstaff deserve a category of their own. The food was absolutely amazing, and the service truly took our breath away. They provide a Michelin-star level of service, the way the staff synchronized the plating so that every guest at the table was served at the exact same moment was a masterclass in fine dining. Our guests were floored by the professionalism and the quality of every meal, including the incredible breakfast spread the following morning.

The rooms were stunning and served as the perfect retreat. We were so touched by the unexpected "little surprises" waiting for us, like Prosecco and pizza in the room, it’s those thoughtful gestures that set this venue apart. They also looked after us with a lovely breakfast on the morning of the wedding, ensuring the day started on a calm, pampered note.

Communication was seamless. They were quick to respond to every email and were physically available throughout the entire wedding day. Their "can-do" attitude was so reassuring, even with last-minute tweaks, they were happy to adapt on the fly to ensure everything was perfect.

Our guests are still raving about the venue, the food, and the atmosphere. If you are looking for a place that combines architectural beauty with world-class service and genuine heart, look no further. Thank you to the entire team for making our dream wedding a reality!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding venue! The aesthetics and grounds are absolutely stunning — every corner was picture-perfect and made for the most beautiful photos. The food was incredible, and all of our guests commented on how delicious everything was.
The drinks were another highlight — the range of cocktails was fantastic (especially appreciated by the bride, who’s a big cocktail lover!). Booking and planning were so easy, and the events manager was always on hand to answer questions or help with any last-minute changes we needed to make.
The whole day went seamlessly — everything ran perfectly, and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We’re so grateful to the entire team for helping make our day so special. Highly recommend!

The Pear Tree was the most perfect wedding venue—we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning and created the dream backdrop for our day. The food was incredible—huge compliments to the chef, everything tasted amazing and was presented beautifully. A special thank you to Chris, our event coordinator, who was so helpful throughout the entire process. He made everything run smoothly and nothing was ever too much trouble. We had the pleasure of getting married at The Pear Tree on Saturday 14th December 2024 and the day was everything we could have dreamt of and more.

The whole wedding planning experience was enjoyable, right from the first look of the venue in April 2024! It’s such a stunning venue, we could picture ourselves getting married there instantly and our two dogs could be included so we didn’t hesitate to secure our date.

We were made to feel extremely special by all the team right through from the welcome meeting with John, then a second look round bringing our parents. We had supportive face to face planning meetings with Zee where she helped to advise on timings and layout for smooth running whilst also ensuring we were tailoring the day and adding our own personal spin on how we wanted it to be. Our next visit was a private menu tasting experience where the chefs and bar staff completely wow’ed us! Lauren then took care of our final planning details and prepared us for our big day.

Lauren and all the staff worked very hard on the day to ensure everything was set up to and positioned to how we desired. Lauren made us feel so relaxed whilst she ensured the timings with our other suppliers and throughout the day ran smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. The drinks reception and dinner service was top tier, we received so much positive feedback of how much our guests enjoyed it and the pizzas also went down a storm in the evening.

Throughout the whole day and night, all of our guests and bride and groom were very well looked after. Huge thanks again to everyone at The Pear Tree, Purton.

We recently had our wedding at The Pear Tree in Purton and honestly the whole team were incredibly organised, professional and remembered every tiny detail, a word we both used to describe our experience was…seamless. Myself and my now Husband (eeee), along with all of our guests, were so well taken care of by the whole team and our events manager Lauren always made us feel so relaxed whilst gently keeping us to the time schedule we wanted. Lauren was perfectly attentive, always making sure we were having THE best time.
The food felt very high quality, even down to the breakfast the following day with as many hot drinks on order that you could want with fresh bacon/mushroom rolls along with a lovely continental table!
All our guests have said what a beautiful time they had, and we wish we could re live the whole day.

We had our wedding at the Pear Tree and it was everything we had hoped it would be - the staff on the day were kind, attentive and helpful, and our wedding coordinator Lauren was really supportive and helpful during the planning process and on the day itself.

We had our wedding at the Pear Tree on Saturday 11 Feb and it was absolutely magical!! We knew the venue was perfect for us even before first viewing but this was only confirmed when the venue agreed to hold our wedding on a date they were scheduled to still be closed for January maintenance.

Food was incredible, venue/rooms were spotless and spectacular, service was amazing - catering, bar, housekeeping. Honestly can't thank the team enough for making everything so special and we've had so many compliments from guests!

Tom and I want to say a huge thank you to the team for making our weekend so special!! A massive thanks to Zosia and Lauren who helped make the Friday and Saturday as stress-free and seamless as possible and whose attention to detail helped to make the Orangery look perfect! A huge thanks also to Lauren and Jade for their patience and help along the planning journey.

The Pear Tree is an absolutely stunning venue with a first class events team. Throughout our planning journey (which was extended due to COVID) the events team have been excellent at keeping in contact, checking in regularly, and making the vision of our wedding a reality. On the day of our wedding they were brilliant at ensuring that we had everything we needed, guests were happy, drinks and food were aplenty and that the day flowed smoothly without a hitch. We are so grateful for everything they have done for us and could not have planned our wedding to have been in a more wonderful place.

My wedding was perfect! the staff were so attentive checking on me throughout the day, getting everything prepared before I even mentioned it and ensuring the day went very smoothly. The venue was modern and beautiful! my guests were blown away by the bespoke menu, rooms and amazing drinks. I would recommend the venue for sure

We finally had our day on 19th August 2021 after postponing from 2020 and we must say it was certainly worth the wait! It was the BEST day of our lives.
We fell in love the venue as soon as we saw it and knew instantly this was the place we wanted to say ‘I do’
Even though we faced many challenges over the period when Covid first hit, Sarah & Angus were fantastic and came up with solutions to hold our special day, which we decided to postpone. After 18 months of planning our day had finally arrived the excitement was unreal. Our day was beyond everything we hoped and wished for, the day was filled with fun, happiness and so much love by all. It was perfect in every way and that was down to the AMAZING team at The Pear Tree.
Special thanks to Duncan our Wedding Events Manager who personally ensured the day went smooth and perfect for us. Duncan’s attention to detail was five star and everything was covered throughout the day.
