Drovers Rest isn't for everyone.

We don't believe weddings should feel rushed, staged or like they're moving along a conveyor belt. We host a limited number of celebrations each year so every couple has the time, space and freedom to create a wedding that feels genuinely theirs.

Set on our 16th-century organic farm, just three miles from Hay-on-Wye on the Herefordshire–Wales border, Drovers Rest is surrounded by ancient woodland, wild meadows and the Black Mountains. It's a place where exceptional food, beautiful natural spaces and unhurried time together sit at the heart of every celebration.

Whether you imagine saying your vows in our ancient orchard, woodland or rustic barn, gathering over a fire-cooked feast, dancing beneath the lights or ending the evening around the fire pits, every wedding is designed around bringing people together.

Four ways to gather

No two couples celebrate in the same way, so we've created three ways to experience Drovers Rest.

1. Weekend Gathering

Our signature experience.

Arrive the day before, settle into your accommodation and gather around the fire as the celebrations begin. Wake up onsite on your wedding day, enjoy your ceremony, feast and party without watching the clock, then gather one final time over breakfast before everyone heads home.

2. Feast-Led Gathering

Everything people love about Drovers Rest in one unforgettable day and night.

Celebrate with an orchard, woodland or barn ceremony, drinks in the courtyard, a generous fire-cooked feast, dancing late into the evening, then stay overnight before enjoying breakfast together the following morning.

Ideal for couples who want the full atmosphere without making it a whole weekend.

3. Midweek Gathering

The same Drovers experience, available on selected weekdays.

You'll still enjoy exclusive use of the farm, beautiful ceremony spaces, exceptional food and our relaxed approach to celebrating—just with greater flexibility and excellent value.

4. The Fully Planned Gathering

Love our style but not the thought of planning every little detail? We can do as much—or as little—as you'd like. From styling and suppliers to timelines and logistics, we're here to make the planning feel exciting rather than overwhelming.

Whichever gathering you choose, one thing never changes. Our goal is to create a wedding where your favourite people feel relaxed, welcomed, well fed and genuinely connected. Facilities

Enjoy exclusive use of our historic farm, two beautifully restored barns, a covered courtyard with cocktail bar, an ancient orchard, woodland ceremony spaces and accommodation for 36 guests in our restored stone cottages and luxury safari tents. During the summer, additional bell tents can create a relaxed festival atmosphere for even more of your favourite people.

Our Posh Barn seats up to 120 guests for your wedding feast, while the Rustic Barn welcomes up to 140 guests for your evening celebration.

Food worth gathering for

Food is at the heart of everything we do.

Our chefs cook over open fire using seasonal ingredients from our farm and trusted local producers, creating generous feasts designed to be shared. From canapés and long-table dining to wood-fired pizzas later in the evening, every menu is crafted to bring people together.
