About

Based in the City of London, England, St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace serves as an elegant venue for weddings and events. First recorded in 1250 and rebuilt and refurbished throughout the centuries, this church site has plenty of historical charm for you and your guests to enjoy during your celebration. The eye-catching architecture and versatile event spaces are sure to make for a stylish start to your wedding vision.

Facilities and Capacity

St Ethelburga's offers two main spaces that you can transform into your romantic setting. Our main indoor option is the Nave, which can host standing receptions of up to 150 or seated ceremonies of up to 85 guests. This unique setting will surround you and your loved ones with a blend of the old and new, from the modern glass and white walls to the original 14th-century arches. A detailed, stained-glass window can serve as a memorable backdrop as you exchange your vows. Adjacent to the Nave is the annexe, which along with our kitchen is a space which can be used for serving food and refreshments. For a more intimate, boho-chic aesthetic, we can also offer our Bedouin Tent, a 16-sided structure nestled in the centre of our Courtyard garden. Cushioned bench seating is featured inside and can seat up to 30 people at a time. The venue has wheelchair facilities, ensuring that everyone arrives at your celebration with ease.

Services Offered

St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace offers exclusive use of either of our event spaces, or for larger gatherings both spaces may be booked giving couples the freedom to make the most of your special day. A dance floor, sound system, and HD laser projector are present in-house and can transform the venue into a party-ready celebration. As a pet-friendly venue, you will be welcome to incorporate your four-legged friends into your big day.

A welcoming warm venue with charactor

We wanted a small, intimate wedding and celebration space where we created a community in a day. This space is so beautiful and historic. We were able to decorate simply and quickly by ourselves.
There was space for the caterers to serve a buffet in the garden, a yurt for us to change in and the hall for the main event, with disabled access to toilets.
As an old building there is a lot of character but surprisingly there is WIFI if you want face-timers to join in on the celebration too. The PA, audio visuals etc are very good.

To add we are a global majority family/community and we felt totally welcomed.

If you are able to plan from scratch and do it yourself or if you get a team in to organise everything from set up to pack up at the end of the day, the team at St Ethalburga's are very helpful and will advise you along the way.

Thank you team at St Ethalburga's (Alistair) for making our day run so smoothly.

Best wishes,

I

beautiful and well equipped venue

It worked out really well to have our ceremony and reception in the nave, the buffet service in the courtyard by an outside caterer, drinks in an ice bucket on a table in the side area. and a chill-out/changing area in the tent just for us. There was room for 50 people buffet style but it might have fit only about 35-40 for table service. The speakers, video projector, and microphones worked without a hitch using our own laptop computer, and the colored floor lamps made it atmospheric. A good time was had by all but be sure to allow an hour to clear up within the booked time at the end. We managed in less time because the guests helpfully pitched in.
