Inspired by The Palladian villas, Prior Park Bath is a historic wedding venue nestled in a sweeping valley overlooking Bath, Somerset. Originally completed in 1741, this mansion house is renowned as an ambitious recreation of Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio's iconic buildings. From this impressive rendering of Bath stone, you can celebrate your union against the sweeping backdrop of the National Trust landscaped gardens and the magnificent Palladian Bridge.
Facilities and Capacity
Prior Park offers couples the opportunity to enjoy a most special day in gated surroundings, extending to 57 acres of private parkland. Composed of a central corps de logis, the building itself forms a most enchanting scene, connected by two curving galleries to a west and east pavilion. Here, a breathtaking on-site chapel allows you the chance to embrace a timeless, traditional ceremony embraced by mid 19th-century wonder. Spanning the length of the building, the expansive Academy Hall can easily host 120 guests for a lavish wedding breakfast. As for the evening reception, you will have a wealth of settings to choose from including the Palladian restaurant and Garden Room which provides level access for the chosen entertainment.

A hidden gem in Bath
We came across Prior Park while searching for wedding venues in Bath and fell in love with the venue at first viewing.
The picturesque Portico steps, towered by the Corinthian columns and overlooking the Bath skyline and the National Trust owned Palladian Bridge, were a perfect setup for our summer outdoor wedding ceremony and reception and the scenery left our guests in awe.
The ornate Academy Hall, with its intricate plasterwork panels and pilasters, three chandeliers, and large windows looking out into the scenery was a gorgeous set up for the wedding breakfast.
Finally, the John Wood Chapel served as the venue for post-dinner festivities: cake cutting, followed by band and dancing. The Chapel, which serves as College’s music room has a large ornately decorated dome, which was a perfect area for the band setup.
We were supported by James and team all through the planning stages and on the day. We were keen maximise the use of this beautiful venue on our wedding day and James was very accommodating with our ideas. For e.g the John Wood Chapel had previously never been used for in a wedding, but James helped us make it happen for our band and dancing.
We’d highly recommend Prior Park College as a wedding venue. It truly is a gem! -
