From start to finish, James was the most accommodating person to work with whilst planning a wedding. Nothing was too much trouble, he was flexible to help us stay within budget (we really wanted the artwork removing from the canteen as 10% of our budget would’ve been spent covering it so we paid them to take it off at a fraction of the price).

We were allowed to go to the venue as much as we wanted ahead of time to take measurements, pictures, everything we needed to plan the perfect day.

My bridesmaids and I got ready at the venue in a common room. We had a delightful breakfast spread that prior park put on for us.

The food was incredible! Everyone who eats beef should get the beef! For mass catering everything was delicious. The tastings were great and we were so pleased that, that transpired on the day when catering for so many more.

They turned everything around seamlessly and honestly I can’t thank James and the team enough for helping us have the perfect day that was also hugely enjoyable for both myself and my husband.

I’m so sad the day is over but we had a day full of memories to last a lifetime.

We cannot recommend Prior Park College highly enough as a venue. Not just for the stunning views of Bath and the Palladian Bridge, the beautiful backdrop of the Mansion or the beautiful hall but for the hospitality of the events manager, catering and staff.

James Lindsay has made the dream our long awaited wedding celebration into a reality. We booked Prior Park in 2018 but due to Covid had to reschedule our celebration 2 more times until finally we could celebrate in July 2022. James’ communication has been fantastic and he has always been more than happy to accommodate multiple viewings across those years and has always made us feel valued and welcome, making time for us whenever suited us to discuss every detail of the day. His experience in running weddings made us feel at ease and his advice and help on anything from food and drink to decorations and timings meant that we were reassured that the day would run smoothly. James was happy to make a reality anything we asked for, including stringing lights across the ceiling, ivy running up the Mansion stairs, a grazing platter for the guests and helping us add a little bit of magic with our Harry Potter theme!

The catering team were fantastic. We had the freedom to choose any food we wanted in any style and James and Chef gave suggestions of menus and possibilities, and were always happy to amend choices with every change of our mind! The catering team did a fantastic job of providing a grazing platter for our guests which was presented beautifully and tasted incredible. There was more than enough food for everyone and so many of our guests complimented the quality of the cooking and ingredients – the Arancini in particular! Any guests with allergies and intolerances were considered thoughtfully and enjoyed the food just as much. The catering team really did go above and beyond and we were so touched that they surprised us on the day with adding cheese broomsticks and chocolate frogs after hearing about our Harry Potter theme!

We came across Prior Park while searching for wedding venues in Bath and fell in love with the venue at first viewing.

The picturesque Portico steps, towered by the Corinthian columns and overlooking the Bath skyline and the National Trust owned Palladian Bridge, were a perfect setup for our summer outdoor wedding ceremony and reception and the scenery left our guests in awe.

The ornate Academy Hall, with its intricate plasterwork panels and pilasters, three chandeliers, and large windows looking out into the scenery was a gorgeous set up for the wedding breakfast.

Finally, the John Wood Chapel served as the venue for post-dinner festivities: cake cutting, followed by band and dancing. The Chapel, which serves as College’s music room has a large ornately decorated dome, which was a perfect area for the band setup.

We were supported by James and team all through the planning stages and on the day. We were keen maximise the use of this beautiful venue on our wedding day and James was very accommodating with our ideas. For e.g the John Wood Chapel had previously never been used for in a wedding, but James helped us make it happen for our band and dancing.

We’d highly recommend Prior Park College as a wedding venue. It truly is a gem!
