Motel is a unique wedding venue in the district of Shoreditch in East London, England. This secluded location has been used as a creative space for ceremonies, photoshoots, product launches, and other special events over the years. With its blend of historical, old-school charm and modern, contemporary design, this venue is sure to give you the best of both worlds during your ceremony and reception.

Facilities and Capacity

First established in 1865 in the heart of Hackney, this urban setting has been carefully designed to be the versatile space that Motel is today. It stands at over 7,500 square feet and offers two private studios to seat up to 150 guests at a time. Five-meter arched ceilings feature brickwork and architectural detailing that's over 150 years old, making for a visually rich backdrop to your ceremony and reception. The grounds also feature large windows, providing both eastern & western daylight to give your celebration a bright, airy aesthetic. Studio 1 provides an open space for dinner and dancing, while the smaller Studio 2 offers a more intimate setting for smaller ceremonies. The venue also features wheelchair and drive-in accessibility, ensuring that all of your friends and family arrive at the venue safely.

The team at Motel offers custom wedding packages to help couples create their dream day from the ground up. The team works with a variety of London caterers who will be happy to personalise a menu that suits each couple's tastes. Corkage options, wedding coordination, and hairstyling are some of the many services that the venue can host on the big day.

Take advantage of our connected internal layout by having your ceremony in one space and your reception meal in the other. Then, let us redesign your ceremony room as a dancefloor, drinks lounge or a games space…The only limit is your imagination!
