A perfect venue for a perfect day!! From beginning to end, our experience with Monkton Barn was next to none. Communication, little touches, professionalism, understanding and flexibility and beautiful venue made our day just great! Not to mention the food! We have had nothing but compliments about every asp of our day! Thanks for making it one to remember for all the right reasons ❤️

My husband and I couldn’t recommend Monkton Barn enough! From the moment we came to see the venue for the first time to the end of our wedding day, Estelle, Rob and Lauren could not have done more to ensure our day was perfect.
Not only is the venue stunning in every area, we had full freedom to decorate it in exactly the way we wanted.
Despite unpredictable weather throughout the day, the team ensured everything ran smoothly and everyone was happy.

Perfection is the first word that comes to mind when writing this review. Not only is the venue beautiful, but the staff are truly amazing. From the day we viewed the venue right through to our actual wedding we felt confident and happy that we would be able to have the wedding of our dreams. And that is exactly what happened. A special mention should go to Rob, Lauren, Estelle and Chef who all played a massive role in that happening. In all honesty I think we could have asked for a herd of unicorns on the Meadow and one of them would have provided it! Nothing was impossible and the team were all so accommodating. ALL our guests said it was the best wedding food they had ever eaten. The planning meetings were informal and fun, yet captured everything we wanted efficiently. It was also nice to meet Peter the owner who was lovely to us (especially as he had 40 Glampers in his back garden for the weekend!). Monkton Barn we really cannot thank you enough for everything you have done for us. We will miss our planning meetings and are already thinking we will be back for our 10th Wedding Anniversary celebration!

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Monkton Barn. From the very beginning, the team was incredibly accommodating, flexible, and truly committed to helping us create our dream day. Every detail was handled with care, and their willingness to adapt to our ideas made the whole planning process feel effortless.

One of the most unforgettable parts of our day was being able to get married in the woods which was so magical. The setting was serene and beautiful, and it gave our ceremony a truly special, intimate feel that we and our guests loved.

The sharing platter-style food was another highlight. It was high quality, delicious, and wonderfully varied, with something for everyone. We had so many guests comment on how much they enjoyed the food and how it added to the relaxed, joyful atmosphere of the day.

The entire experience - from the stunning location to the exceptional service -was everything we hoped for and more. We’re still hearing from guests about how much they loved the day, and we’re so grateful to the team for helping us bring our vision to life. We would wholeheartedly recommend Monkton Barn to anyone looking for a truly special wedding venue.

We had the most amazing day at Monkton celebrating our wedding! The team were fantastic in the run up too and on the day! It was everything we could have asked for and they were so happy to help whatever ideas we had or help we needed! I cannot recommend them enough!!!!

I cannot recommend Monkton Barn enough. I had an unusual situation in that I planned the entire wedding from the US and never saw the venue until the week before. Monkton went above and beyond to understand my vision and even facetimed me and walked round the venue so I could get an idea of what it was like. The week leading up to the wedding the forecast was not looking good but they knew I had my heart set on the ceremony in the woodland dell. On the day, despite rain showers in the morning, they did everything to help us have the ceremony in the woods and it couldn't have been more perfect. After the ceremony the heavens opened and it started to pour with rain but Monkton were not remotely phased by it and they pivoted to have our reception in the beautiful barn. We still got to have some incredible photos outside on the meadow (turns out rain makes for beautiful pictures) as well as Fireworks later in the evening. It ended up being the perfect mix of indoor and outdoor and I wouldn't have changed a thing (even the weather). We had so many compliments from our American guests who were so thrilled to see the beautiful English countryside. Thank you Monkton for giving us everything we wanted and more.

We booked our wedding at Monkton Barn using the woodland, meadow and the marquee and it was perfect. I would highly recommend the venue, the food was amazing, the staff so helpful and the day came together perfectly 10/10.

We had the pleasure of having our wedding here on the 30th November and it was just perfect from start to finish. The team are so helpful with brilliant communication throughout. The food was fantastic with many guests commenting it was the best food they had had at a wedding! Thanks guys again for making our special day so amazing. Highly recommend! x

Monkton Barn is a wonderful venue it’s so versatile and you can really make it your own from a woodland setting to an open field to a barn feel. A very friendly team who is willing to support you every step of the way.

We got married here on 2nd August 2024. The venue is incredible, you have so much flexibility to make your day tailored to you. The team are so kind and supportive, the venue is stunning and the food was incredible. We highly recommend this venue, we had the most amazing wedding day and can't put into words how special this venue is!

It really is a shame to not be able to write an amazing review for what is a beautiful venue (specifically home meadow) but everything comes down to the actual day of the event and unfortunately there were a lot of things that didn't go right, were not organised or delivered which caused stress and upset on an event that cost us such a lot of money and we had been planning for months and months.
After feeding back to the owner after the event we received the below response:
"Thank you for taking the time to compose and send your feedback. I’m afraid it did not come as a complete surprise, as, hands-up, we did encounter certain issues in the set-up for your event and your coordinator will have witnessed behind the scenes aspects that when reported to you would have caused you anxiety"

Certain items were being hired from the venue such as signs and lighting and they were not installed for the event even though it was all documented.

The venue had assured us they would organise generators for the £3k's worth of inflatables we had hired however, this was not organised hence a very stressful few hours before getting this sorted. The owners response to this complaint was unprofessional in my opinion:
"At this point I admit that I let some stress show in being gruff with him and your coordinator, but I’m certain they are both made of rugged stuff and are probably not quite as sensitive as your commentary suggested. For my part, I fully own up to being gruff and I own it as my rite at the age of 69, to express myself in slightly pompous and old-fashioned terms from time to time and to a certain entitlement to take my leisure on a Saturday, or any other day I choose, particularly having cancelled our precious holiday to be on hand if needed"
They had promised they could supply the power considerably cheaper than the inflatable company however then tried to charge us a lot more than we were originally quoted!

We hired an independent events co ordinator a week before to make sure everything ran smoothly on the day and we honestly believe had it not been for her the event would have been a shambles.

I would suggest for anyone wanting to hold their wedding/event here be very clear at all times with your vision, who is responsible for what and hire a co-ordinator from the beginning to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Hopefully Monkton can work on the issues that they confirm arised and ensure no one else feels let down on their big day.

Thank you so much for hosting the best day of our lives (so far!). All of our guests have already said how much they enjoyed every minute – the sun was shining (a miracle!), and we even got to play our beloved cricket on the meadow.

We were blown away by Monkton barn and Peter on our first viewing! It was such an incredible space that enabled us to really make our day our own. In the run up to the day itself, Peter was available for planning "parties" which were a true highlight of our wedding preparation and always sparked such brilliant ideas. He was incredible in helping to navigate the torrential rain the week of our wedding and created lots of plan Bs should we need them. This was hugely appreciated and felt like a true partnership.

We split our day between the meadow for the drinks reception and wedding breakfast and then hosted the evening inside the barn. This meant we could create a real difference between night and day and no need to worry about change over times etc. The meadow has stunning views and is an incredible space to really let your hair down and celebrate with everyone. The courtyard and barn were perfect for the evening, plenty of room for the band, drinks, dancing and best of all a fire for drunken marshmallows.

Monkton barn really was the perfect space for our wedding day and a place that will always hold very fond memories.
