Ceremony spaces

Lydiard House offers a grand and sophisticated setting for your wedding ceremony. We are a fully licensed venue for weddings, civil ceremonies and cultural blessings.

The Main Hall

The Main Hall of Lydiard House is a superb example of fine and symmetrical Georgian design, with its high ceiling and beautiful views over the lawn and parkland. It was originally the impressive entrance to the St John family home, as well as a space for dancing and entertainment. The spectacular hall is decorated with intricate ornate plaster moulding and plaster busts, with an impressive original fireplace.

Accessibility: The Main Hall of Lydiard House is located on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible.

St Mary’s Church

If you and your partner would like a traditional church wedding service, St Mary’s Church is located just behind Lydiard House.

Steeped in history, St Mary’s is one of England’s finest small churches and dates back to the 12th century. It is packed with fascinating monuments to the St. John family who called Lydiard House their home for 500 years.

Marriage services are normally available to couples where at least one partner lives within the parish or has a legal connection to the church. However, other applications can sometimes be accepted.

Wedding Accommodation

Lydiard Park Hotel also offers the added luxury of 31 bedrooms where you and your guests can rest in comfort after a day of celebration.

On the morning after your wedding, you and your guests can gather for a delicious breakfast at Lydiard Park Hotel. This relaxing meal, served in a beautiful setting, offers a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the memories made the day before. It’s the perfect way to round off a magical wedding weekend, with your closest family and friends around you.

Food & drink

Our recently refurbished Luxborough Suite is the perfect setting for your wedding breakfast and reception. Featuring abundant natural light, a charming courtyard area and private bar, it offers a versatile and elegant space for your special day.

The Luxborough Suite can accommodate up to 100 guests with a three-course meal and a top table. For a more relaxed atmosphere we can host up to 100 guests for a barbeque or buffet-style wedding breakfast. In the evening, up to 120 guests can enjoy a lively reception with a delicious finger buffet.

Whether you opt for a formal sit-down meal or a buffet our dedicated team will ensure an exceptional dining experience. From exquisite cuisine to impeccable service, we’ll ensure your celebration leaves your guests feeling well looked after.

Parking

There is ample pay-and-display car parking available for your guests at Lydiard Park. Guests should use the Hay Lane entrance and follow signs to Conference Centre parking. The car park is located alongside St Mary’s Church and close to Lydiard Park Hotel.

For guests staying overnight at Lydiard Park Hotel an overnight parking pass will be provided. Parking passes for other guests can also be arranged at an additional charge ensuring a seamless experience for everyone.
