I honestly cannnot recommend Louisa, Jane & everyone at Highden enough!!!! We were told by Jane that they started doing weddings there when their children got married, and one by one, they all had their weddings in the walled garden where they grew up. The family enjoyed the experience so much, they now hire it out as a wedding venue & you can really see the passion & excitement there, especially from Jane!
Hand on heart, we first visited last February & with it being winter, I liked it, but it didn't hit me. My now husband is an awarded gardener (very proud!!!!) & told me that the bones were there & this was our venue. I wasn't sure & was worried about the possibility of poor weather & a mainly outdoor venue. We revisited in June a few months later & yes, my husband was very, very right! The venue is beautiful, the garden is beautiful, the huge lavender bushes smell divine, the climbing roses & wisteria were gorgous. The tunnel made from apple & pear trees with fairy lights were just beautiful, & reminded us of a part of The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall which hold very important memories for us. We met Soph & Simon the wedding singers there too, & everything just felt right. It was so beautiful that we knew that even if it rained all day, we would still spend a wonderful day together in the marquee, looking out at the beautiful garden.
The run up to the wedding, Louisa was great at communication & gave me a list of information they needed, so I think I had a year to go through everything & knew there wouldnt be any surprises before! She also gave me a list of suppliers that had already been there, but we were free to choose whoever we wanted. This flexibility turned out to be very rare with wedding venues, but ensured we got the day we wanted! We did use glamping tents, entertainment & caterers from their vendors list though, which was incredibly helpful as a starting point, especially with the caterer as there are so many options there! For anyone looking, we would 1000% recommend Mid Sussex Catering for food & drinks all day, as well as the evening bar. We were also able to visit the venue whenever we wanted (just check before, dont just turn up haha!) & came back for this years open day with some of our immediate family where we could take notes for later that year. They hold a maximum of one wedding a week on Saturdays only, meaning our tables & chairs were delivered 5 days before the wedding, & when we arrived on thursday to start decorating, the lovely gardener was there cutting the lawns! With thursday & friday to set everything up, Jane came over & asked that we walk her through where we wanted to get married *weather permitting* as they have several sites in the garden that you can marry. The morning of our wedding, Jane, Vicky & Richard set up everything outdoor with our wedding arch & guests chairs, while my husband & some of his family put out flowers etc. The day was perfect. Vicky was the day organiser & I only saw her a handful of times, but teh day was perfect & she must have been incredibly busy! Vicky & Richard were both there at midnight & did some initial tidying so that we could go to bed in our tent. The morning afterwards, I felt horrendous (I think I was just so exhausted & didnt drink enough) but while I was napping in a rattan armchair, Jane came by & made my husband & mum a cup of tea/coffee & had a lovely chat about the day. We had both Sunday & Monday to take everything down which was easily done. Start to finish, the Denman family have been wonderful. Thank you for giving us the most beautiful wedding day, with blue skies, beautiful surroundings & wonderful memories. Every time we drive past your sign we smile (:

From the first moment we visited the garden, until we packed away and said goodbye, we loved planning and having our wedding at the Walled Garden.

Louisa and Jane were immense at helping us plan our wedding and they couldn't have given us enough of their time and support to help ensure everything went as smoothly as it did. We felt so supported by them and they were able to help us facilitate and coordinate the various drop-offs/collections from various suppliers. Their communication was also outstanding.

On the day itself, the Highden team helped ensure that all of the moving cogs worked in sync ensuring the day ran incredibly smoothly. One of the things we loved the most about The Walled Garden was also the opportunity to have sunset photos upon the downs behind the venue. This was an excellent addition that neither one of us knew was an option until it was suggested to us - and we are so grateful that it was as these pictures have proved to be unbelievable!

We loved that the venue offered us more or less of a blank canvas to be able to make our wedding as bespoke as possible. By providing us with the solid base of the tent structure and washrooms, we were then able to tailor our wedding around what we wanted. Perhaps the best feature of the venue is the incredibly well curated garden with fruits and vegetables growing in abundance. The flowers and greenery, alongside the butterflies and bumble bees that were ever-present, just created the most magical space.

The Walled Garden was a venue that, every single time we visited, we fell more and more in love with and we cannot wait to visit Jane, Louisa, and the team in the future! We cannot recommend the Walled Garden highly enough for your wedding - we are so pleased we held ours there!

Wow, what a venue! Lou, Jane & the entire Highden team helped us make our wedding day run SO smoothly - nothing was too much effort for them. The venue itself is stunning - we had so many compliments from our guests at what an amazing venue it was. The marquee provides ample space for plenty of guests (we had 120 for our wedding breakfast) and it was so nice not having to move tables & chairs around to make room for the dancefloor etc. With far reaching views of the South Downs, the pictures are amazing! Highly recommend :)

From the moment we first visited, we just knew it was the place we wanted to get married. The stunning views, the beautiful grounds, and the walled garden completely stole our hearts, and it ended up being everything we had ever imagined and more.

Since we first booked, they even added their beautiful new bar, which was such an amazing addition to the venue. It looked incredible and fitted in perfectly with the surroundings, making our day feel even more special and our guests very happy all day long!

Louisa, Jane and the whole team were absolutely amazing from start to finish. So flexible and accommodating, nothing was ever too much trouble and they made the whole planning process feel so much easier. On the day itself, everything ran so smoothly, meaning we could completely relax and enjoy every second.

Our photos have turned out so gorgeous, and that's largely thanks to the incredible backdrop of the walled garden, the beautiful grounds, and the surrounding fields. Everywhere you look at Highden Estate is just beautiful, and it made the most perfect setting for our wedding. All our guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue was.

We genuinely couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, a more perfect venue, or a better team to share it with. Everything was exactly how we had envisioned it, and we're so grateful for all of the support and kindness you've shown us throughout our wedding journey.

There aren’t enough words to describe our wedding at Highden!

The whole Denman family are an absolute joy to work with! From the very first day we visited highden estate, throughout the build up, and on the day itself -they were nothing but helpful!

Louisa was so easy to communicate with across the months, weeks and days in the lead up to the wedding. In what can be a particularly busy and occasionally stressful period there were never any questions unanswered.

We were allowed to have freedom in creating our special day and it was absolutely brilliant!

The beauty of the venue is having access for more than just one day meaning we could set up beforehand, host a family friendly evening on the Friday, throw our wedding on the Saturday and have Sunday to debrief with friends and family whilst tidying away.

The site is simply stunning and was the perfect canvas to create our festival style wedding. The dedicated camping field, stretch tent and marquee all complimented each other perfectly- everything was exactly where it needed to be to make it feel intimate and spacious at the same time.

So many people commented on how wonderful the venue was and how beautiful the walled garden is- a perfect backdrop for all of our photos!

If we could, we would do it all over again!!!

We couldn't have asked for a more idyllic venue. We loved that we could completely make it our own. We saw the venue on beautiful sunny days, as well as grey, rainy days and it was so beautiful whatever the weather. On our wedding day it was 30 degrees in May!
We loved the option to camp too, as well as having the different options on where we could actually have our ceremony.
Lou and her team were outstanding. They were incredibly helpful before, during and after the wedding. We felt completely at ease and knew we were in safe hands. All my guests mentioned how smoothly everything ran and they worked so well with my caterers and other vendors.
We couldn't recommend The Secret Garden at Highden Estate enough. We want to do it all over again!

Highden Estate is a fantastic venue, from the first visit when we met Jane we knew it was going to be our wedding venue! Jane was so lovely showing us around, then we met her daughter, Louisa who was amazing and very helpful throughout all stages leading up to the wedding. The days before the wedding we had the freedom to set up the space and then on the wedding day everyone was so helpful. The sun was shining and all our guests were commented on how the venue was perfect! It was our own Secret Garden!

Highden was the first and only wedding venue we looked at. From the very beginning we were totally won over by the beautiful walled garden and the marquee, where we had the freedom to decorate how we wished. Jane was fab in showing us all around the grounds and giving us more insight into how our day could look. Once the date was booked we had good communication and a checklist leading up to the big day, ensuring we had everything in place so that everything could run smoothly. Louisa and the team were amazing leading up to and on the day of our wedding. They took on so many little jobs which minimised the stress on us and ensured that we and our guests were able to enjoy the day. 
The walled garden was simply stunning and it was perfect for the amount of guests we had. The teepee was a lovely extra to have our garden games under for the day. It meant guests could escape the main marquee but still be under shelter if needed.
Later in the day it got a bit chilly but the heating was turned on at the perfect time for our guests to stay cosy in the marquee. 

We cannot recommend Highden Estate enough, our wedding day was the best day ever and we couldn’t have imagined it anywhere else.
