Located a short drive from Skipton, North Yorkshire, Hartlington Woodland Weddings offers a unique setting and venue to say "I do."

If your idea of the perfect wedding is less about following tradition and more about creating something that feels completely yours, you might have found the right place.

Hidden within the grounds of Hartlington Hall in the Yorkshire Dales is our private mature woodland, where we've created an intimate ceremony space beneath the trees for weddings of up to 60 people.
We don't offer wedding packages. Instead, we'll talk to you about the celebration you're imagining and help you make it happen — whether that's gloriously colourful and full of music and flowers, or simply the two of you, the people you love and a beautiful wood.

The woodland is exclusively yours for your wedding. No strangers wandering past, no second ceremony waiting in the wings and no conveyor belt of couples. Just your people, your ceremony and time to enjoy it.

Make It Yours

Every wedding we hold here will be different, which is exactly how we want it. Rather than offering fixed packages, we'll talk with you about the wedding you're imagining and create a custom proposal for it.
Flowers and styling can be arranged independently, or we can help create something here. Whether your vision is wild and romantic, gloriously colourful, elegantly understated, or something entirely unique, we'd love to hear it.

Some couples may want little more than the woodland and the people they love. Others may arrive with musicians, armfuls of flowers, and plans for champagne beneath the trees. Both sound rather wonderful to us.

​The Woodland.

Our venue is unique and intimate, offering a truly magical experience for up to 60 guests, but we keep our season short (end of May - early September) to ensure your ceremony takes place when our deciduous trees are looking at their best. As for the unpredictability of the British weather, we have a range of contingency plans which we're happy to discuss with you as your enquiry progresses.

At present, ceremonies in the woodland are celebrant-led, which gives you enormous freedom to make the ceremony your own. You are welcome to choose your own celebrant, or we can help you find someone who feels right for you. The legal formalities can be completed separately, leaving your woodland ceremony free to be entirely about the two of you.

​Once your ceremony is complete, take a breath, relax and enjoy a glass of Fizz. We won’t rush you away. Take photos, chat with your guests, then when you are ready, leave for your chosen reception venue. There are some amazing hotels and restaurants in the immediate area that excel at this part of your celebration, and we are more than happy to offer recommendations that will continue to fit the style of your wedding.

Stay with Us

Why not turn your wedding into a relaxing countryside escape?
If you’d like to make more of your time here, our two sleeps-6, five-star holiday cottages, Kail House and The Lodge, can also be booked for your stay, subject to availability. They are entirely optional — you don’t need to stay with us to hold your wedding here. But if you do, it gives you the chance to arrive, settle in and enjoy a little more of the Yorkshire Dales before and after the day itself.
