We had our wedding booked for November at the Garfield Hotel, with Louize and her team organising everything. Unfortunately, in February my fiancé was diagnosed with MND. We seriously considered cancelling the wedding, as he wasn’t well enough to manage a full day or sit at the top table\. In the end, we decided that getting married was what we wanted most.
We asked Louize if there was any possibility of bringing the wedding forward, and nothing was too much trouble. She kept in touch throughout, helped us re\-plan everything, and we changed from a full wedding day to an evening reception after having a small private family ceremony the week before\.
Louize managed to secure us a Friday, which meant we could celebrate our marriage with our family and friends. We had 160 guests, and every request we made was accommodated. We even kept the honeymoon suite, and our wedding cake was arranged entirely online and by email—it was absolutely beautiful and ready for us on the night.
Louize made what was an incredibly stressful and emotional time in our lives so much easier\. The whole team at the Garfield Hotel went above and beyond. They made sure wheelchair access was available throughout the reception, and the following morning they helped us get all of our gifts to the car. Our evening was everything we had hoped for and more. It gave us the chance to celebrate with the people we love most and created memories that we, our family, and our friends will treasure forever. We can’t thank Louize and the entire team at the Garfield Hotel enough for their kindness, compassion and professionalism. They helped make one of the most difficult times in our lives into one of our happiest memories. We would recommend the Garfield Hotel and Louize and her team to anyone planning a special occasion

We had the most magical wedding day on Sunday 5th July at The Garfield House Hotel. From the moment we went to the wedding open day in 2023 we fell completely in love with the venue and after finding out it was also dog friendly we knew it would be perfect.
We met with Louize who went through all the different packages and helped us to decide what suited our wedding size. She went through all our initial details and began to bring our visions into a reality.
Louize and SarahJayne were in constant communication throughout and were able to find out any information we needed.
The day itself was so much more than we could have imagined! Adrian who was the manager on the day met with us the night before to go over all the final details one last time and he made the day run so smoothly, he even was able to sort out a different confetti shoot with our photographer as the typical Scottish rain made an appearance so we were unable to do it the way we had originally planned.
The staff at the Garfield were amazing throughout the night and then again the next morning when we all went down for breakfast Adrian greeted us and made sure we were all sorted to cure the post wedding hangovers.

We got married at the Garfield House Hotel on Saturday 6th June 2026, and from our very first enquiry right through to the end of our wedding day, the entire experience was flawless.

From day one, Louize made us feel like more than just another wedding booking. Every interaction felt personal, and she took the time to get to know us and understand exactly what we wanted from our day. Throughout the planning process she was always there to answer questions, keep us informed, offer reassurance and guidance, and make what could have been a stressful experience feel genuinely enjoyable. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

The hotel itself was incredibly accommodating, and every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect. The level of service we received was exceptional, and it was clear that everyone genuinely cared about making our wedding as special as possible.

On the day itself, Adrian was outstanding. He conducted everything beautifully, kept the day running smoothly and on time, and was always on hand to answer any last-minute questions. His calm, professional approach allowed us to completely relax and enjoy every moment, knowing everything was under control.

We stayed in one of the suites the night before the wedding, and it was absolutely stunning. The room was elegant, spacious, and provided the perfect setting for our wedding party to get ready together on the morning of the wedding. It made those pre-wedding moments even more special. After the celebrations, we stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, which was the perfect way to end such a beautiful day and night. It was luxurious, comfortable and exactly what we needed after an unforgettable celebration.

The feedback from our guests was incredible. Everyone commented on how fantastic the drinks reception was, how delicious the canapés were, and how amazing the wedding meal and evening buffet were. The quality of the food throughout the day was exceptional and something our guests are still talking about.

Most importantly, our entire day was completely stress-free. We were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment because we had complete confidence in the team around us. Looking back, there is genuinely nothing we would fault. From our first conversation with Louize to saying goodnight after the wedding, every part of our journey with Garfield House Hotel exceeded our expectations.

From our very first meeting with Louise at the Garfield House Hotel, we knew we were in safe hands. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but Louise made the entire process so easy and enjoyable. She listened to exactly what we wanted and the wedding package was perfect for us, with plenty of flexibility to personalise different elements and make the day truly our own.

On the wedding day itself, everything ran seamlessly. Louise and General Manager Glen were fantastic throughout and ensured every part of the day went exactly to plan without us having to worry about a thing. The service from all of the staff was outstanding and they genuinely made us and our guests feel so welcome.

The food was absolutely AMAZING — so many of our guests commented on how delicious every course was — and the drinks package was brilliant with such a generous amount included throughout the day and evening. The atmosphere from start to finish was incredible and our friends and family are still talking about what an unforgettable day it was.

The Wedding Suite and Honeymoon Suite are also absolutely stunning and made the experience even more special. Having such beautiful rooms to get ready in and relax in afterwards was the perfect finishing touch to an already perfect day.

We honestly couldn’t recommend Garfield House Hotel highly enough for anyone considering it as a wedding venue. Thank you again to Louise, Glen and the whole team for giving us the most amazing day we could have wished for!

We cannot thank Louize and all the wedding team enough for helping us have the most incredible wedding day. From the moment we booked Louize had the best communication with us and helped ensuring all our special touch’s were put in place. As a couple music on our wedding day was so important. Louize was very accommodating and helped ensuring this was carried out without any hiccups. Everyone at the Garfield was always so warm, welcoming, kind and helpful. The definitely added to our day. We can not fault the staff one bit. As a slightly stressed bride the team definitely helped minimise this and always checked and made sure everyone was doing ok and needed for nothing. We can not fault the price and everything that was added in the package, everything was thought about. Having the cake and flowers added in the package took away the stress of finding vendors for this. The Garfield recommended the dj (Chris) who was incredible! I would not change a thing about our wedding it was perfect right from the planning to the next day after our wedding. Thank you to all the team.

What a blooooody belter of a day and night! From start to finish, we both had an amazing day, lots of love and laughter shared in the one room with our nearest and dearest! All smoothly ran, all the prep and everything in between couldn’t have gone better for a stress head like myself, however on the morning I had no stress at all, everyone was to attentive! The value for money of this venue is amazing & we love how they do not add ex amount of rooms if they aren’t taken into your bill! And don’t shoot the price up for a Saturday! Absolutely magical, can’t wait to do it all over again in 10yrs time! The bridal suite & honeymoon suite is brilliant and very spacious for all the morning prep! Loved it all.

Where do we start! Our wedding day was flawless from start to finish. Everyone at the Garfield works so hard to make sure the day runs smoothly.

Louize – We can’t thank you enough for making sure everything that we had asked for happened on our day, The number of e-mails back and forward was always answered, and nothing was ever too much, your time and experience is so valuable to couples who are getting married. I don’t know how you do it keeping up with all the different couples and organising all the fine details I was glad to have that part over with, but you thrive with co-ordinating all the different parts of a wedding ceremony and reception to make it special and personal to the couple.

Glen – Thank you for co-ordinating our whole day from making sure the ceremony went smoothly right up until the last song. You were always available to help. You went above and beyond on our day. The canapes were delicious and there were loads of trays, the drinks were flowing and you even helped one of the bridesmaids who managed to get a small stain on their dress.
The meal was delicious all our guests thought they were treated like royalty and was such a lovely atmosphere too.
Peter especially would like to thank you for being the coolest man in the hotel and you would just pop up randomly by his side asking if everything was ok, do you need anything, and then vanish just as quick and away to help someone else.
Thank you to Junior for being there to make sure we were happy with the set up for the reception, and making sure all our guests that stayed over had enjoyed their stay before they left to go home.

Lisa – Thank you so much for Friday night, making sure the room looked beautiful, and we could use our own playlist for during the meal, I think the kids enjoyed that a bit much! All the staff on the Friday night were attentive and everyone enjoyed their meal. Then Saturday you were there again to make sure everything looked beautiful, and we were happy. Also, on the Sunday just chatting away, I can tell how much you love working at the Garfield.

The Bar staff on the Sunday were so kind mentioning about how great the wedding went and how much they loved the DJ (the dancefloor was never empty)

Thank you to Oonagh and Angie for sorting out all our rooms and making sure Peters parents’ room was what we asked for as they struggle to walk very far, you took the time to listen and everyone loved their room.

The wedding package that they offer is really good. The cake, the piper, all the little extras.

Honestly, the amount of praise from all our guests is fantastic and it was the best day because of all your dedication and hard work.
