Folly Farm is an environmentally sustainable, countryside wedding venue nestled in the heart of a 250-acre nature reserve in Pensford, Bristol, yet conveniently located just 10 miles from Bristol and Bath. As one of Somerset's hidden gems, 'Folly' as it is affectionately known, offers peaceful seclusion and the most breath-taking views across Chew Valley Lake and the Mendip Hills; an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Facilities and Capacity
Surrounded by wildlife and ancient woodlands, Folly Farm is perfect in every season. From the carpets of spring bluebells and wildflower meadows of summer to the golden tones of autumn and the dramatic winter skies, the backdrop for your day is sure to be beautiful. Couples can choose to hold their ceremony in the charming oak-beamed converted barn, the traditional Old Dairy, or the glass atrium filled with natural light. Alternatively, you can choose to say 'I do' outside with a gorgeous ceremony overlooking the Chew Valley Lake, or a blessing in the orchard. The 20 farmhouse-style bedrooms accommodate up to 56 guests and, in the warmer months, additional guests have the option of camping in the paddock. The happy couple can spend the first night of married life in the venue's spacious bridal suite or choose to hire a bell tent for a night of glamping. For receptions, the property can hold up to 150 evening guests. There is also plenty of space for marquees, and the team can connect you with their list of suppliers.
Services Offered
Folly Farm offers exclusive use of the entire venue, including all of the 18th-century farm buildings, for a completely private celebration. Soon-to-be-weds are welcome to invite family and friends the day before the wedding and share the fun of decorating and personalising the venue, followed by a pre-wedding evening meal. Delicious, seasonal food is in abundance and is often picked from the kitchen garden. The recommended caterers will expertly tailor menus to suit every budget and taste. Food is incredibly important to wedding celebrations, so couples can choose from a traditional three-course meal, relaxed platters, a hog-roast and everything in between. Owned and managed by Avon Wildlife Trust, all profits are gift-aided back to the Trust to protect local wildlife and inspire people about the importance and benefits of nature. Your wedding will not only be an incredible day, but will leave an incredible legacy.

Summer Wedding at Folly Farm
My husband and I got married at Folly Farm on 4th July 2026 and had THE most amazing weekend. From arriving on site on the Friday afternoon through to Sunday morning check-out, everything was perfect and Matt, Clare and team ensured everything we asked for was achieved. Including the glorious weather! :)
The guest feedback about the venue and food was so positive and we've been re-living the weekend through photos ever since.
It's such a special location and the team really worked hard to answer all our questions in the run up, and to accommodate any requests we had, going above and beyond to ensure we had the best weekend possible with minimal stress.
It was so special to have the majority of friends and family onsite for the whole weekend which took away stress from organising taxis/designated drivers etc.
We couldn't recommend this venue enough. We'd do it all again if we could, even for the views alone!

Getting married in Nature🍂🍁🌼
Matt and the Folly Farm team created the most picture perfect day for my husband and I.
The team went above and beyond to ensure our day was incredible and incredible it was,
Folly Is a very special venue with stunning grounds and views.
All our guests commented on how amazing the food was presented and tasted. We couldn't have asked for anything more from the Folly team.

Our incredible wedding 🤍
Our wedding was the 22/08/2026.
Firstly HUGE thanks to Matt & his team. Matt made our wedding perfect, nothing was to much trouble & everything was already thought about.
We had Jason on the evening, who was equally as thoughtful and helpful.
The grounds are beautiful & ive cried lots of happy tears about how incredible our wedding was here.
If you’re thinking of folly farm for your wedding, book it already! I promise you won’t regret it. Folly will always have a special place in our hearts!

Everything we could have wished for
Right from the beginning, all the staff at Folly Farm, in particular Matt, were incredibly friendly and helpful, answered any questions, and went above and beyond to create the perfect day for us. Replies to messages were very quick, and on the day, their level of support and care shone through and made the day run so much smoother. They were particularly good at keeping a really close eye on the weather right up until the few moments before the ceremony to give us every chance of having it outside as we had wished for! And low and behold we were able to, as the rain held off! Their flexibility on the day with changing the timings of some of the order of the day was also exceptional and we could not have asked for a more stunning wedding venue to get married at. The accommodation was beautiful and clean to the highest standards and lots of guests commented on how lovely their rooms were. The venue needed little decorating as it's beauty shone through wherever you looked. It brings us such joy too, knowing that their profits go to a good cause which is so close to our hearts.

I'll keep it short and sweet...
You will not regret booking Folly Farm Centre. There are 8 million reasons why, but I know as a bride myself I wouldn't sit and read the huge list, I'd just want an outright assurance. This is my assurance to other brides: You would be in safe hands, and every single guest will tell you how incredible the venue and staff are.

The most beautiful place for the most beautiful moment
Honestly, giving this place 5 starts isn’t enough for how amazing the staff, the venue and the whole day was/is,
Firstly Matt and his team were unbelievable from pre planning up until our departure, they made everything so easy and efficient, which took a massive weight off mine and my wife’s shoulders, and that gave us the most magical day at the most beautiful venue.
The place itself is a little piece of paradise, it felt so intimate but yet so natural as well, the views, the surroundings just added to what was already a dreamy wedding day, that again the staff made so great from start to finish,
My advice to anyone getting married and looking for a perfect venue, then pick Folly Farm, the food was out of this world, the staff were so friendly and engaging, the whole weekend stay we did was the best ever, honestly cannot thank Matt and his dream team enough for the memories they helped us make,
Would do it all over again, just the best, and hope they get plenty more chances to host such beautiful weddings, because they made mine and my wives dreams all come true

Everything was top tier, don't sleep on this venue!
We don't have a bad word to say about Folly Farm. The venue is stunning, the views from where we had the ceremony were incredible. The staff couldn't do enough for us and had top level attention to detail.
The food was very good (mushroom wellington especially!), the beer was reasonably priced, the venue was priced very fairly and the wedding planning service made this as low stress as possible.

Lovely May Wedding at Folly Farm
We got married at the beautiful venue of Folly Farm in May 2026. Matt and the team were very attentive throughout the entire process and every little detail was planned which allowed our wedding day to run so smoothly (with the Folly Farm working tirelessly and discretely in the background!). We had an idea of how we wanted the day to run but appreciated the helpful suggestions Matt would give from his extensive experience.
The food provided by the in-house Thyme Chef at Folly Farm was incredible, and it was very beneficial to have a taste-testing session to ensure the menu was perfect.
We booked out the available accommodation on site which allowed both families to mix the night before the wedding which added to the celebrations. The use of the kitchen/outside seating area was a good focal area for meals the night before and morning after.
Folly Farm is set in a beautiful landscape that has made our wedding photos look awesome. As the venue is set in a Nature Reserve with plenty to explore, we look forward to visiting and reminiscing in years to come. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a down-to-earth, relaxed, and personal, wedding!

Serene natural setting for an all-in-one wedding
We were drawn to the idea of having all our guests stay on site(small wedding of around 50 people) and the option to have the evening before the wedding to celebrate with a BBQ. This whole set up made it feel more homey and relaxing in the lead up to the ceremony. The team worked hard to facilitate our ceremony in the courtyard after a drizzly, windy morning! They were professional and also great at checking in on how we were coping with the craziness of the day. A wonderful choice for a magical day!

The wedding of our dreams
The short version of this review is: you should definitely have your wedding at Folly Farm. The staff, food and venue are exceptional.
Here are a few more details if you need convincing.
The venue: the photos on their website speak for themselves but the real thing is even better Stunning views of Somerset, lush green surroundings, beautiful stone buildings. We barely needed any decorations because the place itself is so breathtaking.
The staff: from the moment we booked 14 months before the day, to the day itself, they were available for chats and to help us organise every last detail. They were so professional, kind and helpful and made sure everything was perfect (from herding guests to the right place to serving the food and making sure our music cues were hit). We knew we were in good hands and for that reason were able to relax and enjoy the day. Thank you everyone and in particular Matthew and Jason.
The food: half of our guests were from France and they were all extremely impressed with the food. That should tell you something! The lamb was particularly popular.

Could not have been better
The venue were amazing from start to finish, they were willing to let us have multiple viewings and were happy to answer all of our questions. We had a large number of guests staying over friday night and several of them commented on how nice the rooms were. The staff were present and very helpful with any issues that cropped up. We had catered food on the friday night which was delicious and very plentiful.
We got married on the Saturday and the satff were great then too, very helpful with the organisation and flow of the day. Extra big thanks to Matt and Jason!

Spring Wedding
Folly Farm was an excellent venue choice for our wedding day. They were very attentive to our needs, changing some of the timings to their normal format. They were very organised and the day ran smoothly without a hitch. It was a beautiful venue with plenty of space for our 60 guests, with some choosing to stay overnight. There was plenty of food and the evening fire pit on a cold spring evening. Matthew was there on the day to keep us informed and ensure everything went according to plan and was a very reassuring presence. The location is wonderful with views over Chew Valley lake and you feel very much surrounded by nature. Knowing that profits contribute to the Avon Wildlife Trust was an added bonus for us, with food sourced locally. There was plenty of food which our guests found to be delicious and made a point of telling us.
