The team is amazing, really accommodating, friendly and catered for our needs. A wonderful place in the beautiful countryside.

Choosing this venue was the best decision we could have made! From start to finish we felt part of the Dovecote family and that nothing was too much trouble.
Communication was good, the planning process was easy to follow and everything was made clear in terms of costings & payments so we knew exactly what to expect.
We had a lot of special dietary requirements but Chef & the team gave us a fabulous menu that all of our guests loved. All of the staff were really friendly and couldn’t have done anything more to make our day, it really was incredible and we can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Perfect is a strong word to use when describing something, but a few months later we look back and it was absolutely Perfect! Matt, Mel, and all the team have a really keen eye for detail and are so supportive with ideas you have to see how they can make it work. Tom, the designer and lead builder of the Teepee and EVERYTHING else is a wizard! You see it, he designed it! The final product of this venue is outstanding, and we had so many options of how we could utilise it all for our day.

You have not just amazing venues to utilise, but the scenery had our photographer and videographer VERY excited, with the finished product of their work producing some magical shots for us.

Every step of the day was meticulous, and they are so attentive on keeping things aside (THE INCREDIBLE FOOD) to ensure you get to enjoy every part of the day. Not one but if stress and we got to enjoy the whole thing, with the teepee being an amazing choice for the wedding breakfast and transforming with the lighting as the sun goes down and the reception starts.

Now the food... You think at the beginning, "Bit risky, can't have my own catering and have to go with them..." Let us share, if this kitchen had a restaurant, I would be there EVERY week! I would eat anything on the menu, and trust them entirely. Just genius work in accomodating dietary requirements between 100+ guests, with one particular tough set of requirements, with that guest saying it was one of the best meals he had ever eaten, with the rest of the guests a little jealous.

We cannot recommend this venue and team enough! We will be returning for open events, because we miss the team and they are the warmest and most caring people to ensure you enjoy your day.

We got married at Dovecote in August 2025. From the moment we viewed the venue we felt completely at ease and welcomed. All of the different spaces around the venue were beautiful and allowed our guests lots of space to move around. The food was exceptional and people still mention this to us now.

The Dovecote hosted our wedding back in May 2025 and it was a fantastic experience. Everything went smoothly and it was thanks to their dedicated team. We had so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was and the great food. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking to get married. I know a wedding is meant to be stressful but I think the Dovecote team made it seamless.

We just wanted to say thank you so much for putting on our perfect wedding. The venue was of course lovely, even when wet, as we knew it would be. Our guests loved the rusticness of the barn and the novelty of the tipi. The food went down very well and no one was hungry, as you promised. People raved about the cocktails, the Margherita and Lemon Drops being particularly popular.

But really the biggest thing that made Dovecote the perfect place was the effort that you and the team went to to make it special. All the organisation in advance made us feel very calm and confident that things would go to plan. The unconventional table plan with large central top table and satellite round tables worked so well and seemed to make great use of the space.

And we are so grateful for the on-the-day actions, like storing our bags safely in the office, showing the groomsmen how to put on their buttonhole flowers, holding back some canapés to make sure that Meggie and I ate enough, shuttling guests under umbrellas, moving multiple flowers and decorations across the site exactly as envisioned, prompting us of the best time to do confetti and to get some couple pictures to make sure these weren't missed, allowing us to move the outdoor rugby game into the snug area (which ended up being an epic arena!). These little details are what we really noticed and appreciated.

We were absolutely blown away from start to finish with Matt, Lauren and the entire team. They made our wedding day absolutely magical. Everything was flawless, the food and service were incredible. All of our guests were so well looked after, and I think every single one of them came at some point to ask us how we found such a perfect venue. They helped us to create the most perfect day, getting to know them all over the past year has also been a pleasure. I couldn’t fault a single thing about the day and we can’t thank them enough. Every single member of staff present at our wedding went above and beyond and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The place is stunning, the food was sensational - we went for the serving platters and the portions are such incredible value for money. Vegan options were also so well thought out. It was just perfect - I’ve tried to put into words but it’s difficult really to describe just how magical it was to get married at Dovecote Barn. It’s a shame we can only get married once!

From our initial, rainy visit, Dovecote Events captivated us. The beautifully lit walkway and warm welcome from Lauren with fizz and canapés in the charming barn immediately impressed. The sliding doors added a cozy touch, and we could envision our ceremony there. The adjoining bar overlooking the courtyard seemed perfect for reception drinks.

Meeting Mel and Matt, we toured the tipi. The enchanting walk, the beautifully laid tables, and the dedicated band/dance floor space sealed the deal. The shepherd hut toilets and outdoor tables were a bonus. Serendipitously, a date had just opened up in August, and Mel and Matt gave us space to discuss it with family. We booked Dovecote within days, feeling no pressure, just excitement.

Mel provided invaluable supplier recommendations and excellent menu options with photos. They readily answered our dietary questions and allowed a choice menu for our guests. Matt and Mel's suggestion to set our RSVP deadline a week early was a lifesaver.

Our tasting was a highlight. The full-size portions were beautifully presented, and Matt and Cece expertly guided us. Cece's insightful questions, especially when we mentioned our cycling theme, sparked our creativity. The pop-up restaurant experience further reinforced our confidence.

Dovecote's barn and tipi are beautifully decorated, enhancing any additional décor. Cece was incredibly helpful with supplier questions, often liaising directly to minimize our stress. She organized a travel visit for our coach company and helped us finalize décor plans during their spring open day.

In our final details meeting, we reviewed everything. Cece's excitement about our ideas made our hard work feel worthwhile. She was also incredibly helpful with the technical aspects, like our seating plan installation.

The day before, we spent four hours setting up our DIY décor. Cece and the team, especially Tom, were on hand to assist. Cece's guidance ensured we didn't overdo it. The "sneak peek" she arranged with my now-husband was a cherished moment.

Cece's calm presence was invaluable throughout the wedding day. She expertly managed the ceremony and whisked us away for our own cocktail and canapés before photos. The confetti shot with a bicycle salute and cycling cowbells was a fun, personal touch.

The walk to the tipi felt like a personal tribute. Our bicycle wheel seating plan looked fantastic. The soft play area for our flower girls during the wedding breakfast was a great idea. The speeches before the meal allowed everyone to relax afterward.

The Dovecote team brought out our wedding breakfast, with Lauren consulting the detailed seating plan to ensure everyone received the correct meal. The bar staff were personable and efficient. The no-corkage policy was a big plus, allowing us to serve a meaningful tribute to my late father-in-law.

Evening guests were warmly welcomed. Cece arranged for the soft play area to become a magic mirror photo booth. The sparkler walk was magical, and the Dovecote team’s help with cleanup was invaluable.

Me and my husband were blown away at how incredibly professional and supportive the staff were at dovecote on our wedding day.
Everything from when we first ever come to see the venue, to the food tasting, to the chefs creating such delicious food, to the gardeners for keeping the grounds so immaculate, to the bar staff and everyone else behind the scenes, we just can not fault! CeCe and the team made the whole experience stress free and smooth running. They all went above and beyond and it certainly did not go unnoticed, we had many positive comments from our guests, not only on the venue and the food but on all the staff too.
