Nestled in the market town of Witney in West Oxfordshire, Cogges Manor Farm is a beautiful wedding venue, steeped in 1,000 years of history and the filming location for Downton Abbey's Yew Tree Farm.

Our two stunning 18th century barns provide a wonderful setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions, the perfect blank canvas on which to create your own unique and special day. Hosting your wedding here grants you exclusive access to both barns and a courtyard. For smaller weddings, the Dining Room in the Manor House offers a grand yet cosy atmosphere, complete with a working fireplace. It is perfect for small, intimate weddings or a renewal of vows, and can comfortably seat up to 25 guests. You can also get married on the Manor House Lawn.

At Cogges you have the freedom to create the wedding of your dreams. You can create a beautiful countryside wedding, a luxe farm wedding, a relaxed rustic day, a festival vibe - or whatever your hearts desire! We can help with the addition of garden games for family fun, straw bales for seating around fire pits and festoon lighting in the evening. We have a list of tried and tested suppliers we can recommend, for everything from catering and bar, furniture, lighting, music and more. A member of the Cogges team is happy to advise too!

When you book a wedding at Cogges, you and your guests are welcome to enjoy our entire site, which extends to 17 acres including meadows, an orchard, a stunning walled garden, the Manor House Lawn and farmyard. There's a lovely laid-back and friendly atmosphere at Cogges and you'll feel like you're stepping into history, whilst making lovely new memories of your own.

Cogges Manor Farm lies to the east of Witney - a pretty market town with a fascinating history. Cogges is just 12 miles from Oxford, 32 miles from Cheltenham and 60 miles from London. It’s just a convenient short walk from the town centre, where there is also lots of free parking and several bus routes. Cogges also has their own large free car park and dedicated parking for Blue badge holders.

Cogges is a heritage site, and as such we do not have any accommodation on site. However, as we are a short 10 minute walk from the centre of Witney, we have many local businesses who can offer wedding guests and the bride and groom accommodation.

Facilities and Capacity

Both of the barns are licensed for civil ceremonies. The gorgeous and spacious Wheat Barn can accommodate up to 200 guests for a seated reception and up to 250 for a ceremony. The Barley Barn accommodate up to 80 guests for a seated reception and up to 150 for a ceremony. With the agreement of the Registrars (or your own celebrant), an outdoor ceremony on the Manor Lawn is also an option.

The barns and their courtyard are provided on a dry-hire basis, for your sole use - the hire fees are stated on our website.

Couples have access the day before between 9.30am and 5pm to dress tables and add personal touches such as props and a table plan. The day after is also included to tidy away. Couples love to get their families and friends involved, and make more memories of helping them with their special day at Cogges.

Cogges is a visitor attraction, so has visitors on site between 9.30am and 5pm; however, it's a peaceful place and this never interferes with a wedding. You will also have exclusive access to the entire site from 5pm on the day of your wedding.

Sole use of the entire site is possible with enough notice, and we can quote for this on request.
