London's oldest botanic garden

Nestled in the heart of Chelsea on the banks of the Thames lies Chelsea Physic Garden—London’s oldest botanic garden, spanning four acres of thriving plant life comprising one of the world’s most unique microclimate and biodiversity signatures.

From perhaps the world’s oldest Pond Rockery, to the tropical plants housed in our Victorian Glasshouses; the kaleidoscopic Dicotyledon Order Beds, Ginkgo trees, fragrant Mediterranean herbs, carnivorous and poisonous plants, fruiting olives, palms, pomegranates and the terraces and woodland peripheries that enclose two spacious lawns—the Garden casts an uncontrived and truly beautiful backdrop to an event of any kind, and bestows a character unique amongst any other venue so close to the centre of London.

Only a limited number of weddings are permitted at Chelsea Physic Garden each year, to uphold our principal purpose as a working horticultural and educational charity. It also means we and our partner event suppliers can attend to each booking, from beginning to end, with the diligence it deserves.
