Toastmaster John Heasman

We first met John at a wedding fair and it was our first encounter of a Toastmaster- and what a lovely, bubbly person to come across!

We had met a few more toastmasters following this, but nobody quite like John! We very shortly after booked John and had him booked for quite a while (at least 2 years!) before the wedding.

John was amazing at easing our nerves pre-wedding, from helping with explaining how things would traditionally go, to helping us tailor the day to what we wanted exactly.

At the wedding… we wouldn’t have been without him, from greeting everybody at the entrance to making sure he came and spoke to us throughout to see if there was anything the could help with. And with our group photos, he worked flawlessly to coordinate with our photographer to huddle people to keep things on track. No one could fault him, and everyone was complimenting him to us for many days after!

John, you are an absolute pleasure to be around and we are so glad that you were a part of our day. Thank you for everything.

More Than a Celebrant and Toastmaster – A Truly Special Person ❤️

Where do we even begin to find the words to express just how incredible John was and how much he meant to us throughout our wedding journey?

When we first met John, we were looking for someone to be our celebrant and toastmaster. What we never expected was to find someone who would become such a special part of our lives and someone we now feel privileged to call a friend.

From the very beginning, John took the time to really get to know us. Not simply as a couple planning their wedding, but as Kelly and Stephen, two people with our own stories, personalities, experiences and dreams. He listened, he understood, and he genuinely cared about making our day everything we had hoped it would be.

One of the things that meant the most to us was how John truly understood that our wedding was about so much more than two people saying "I do". It was about celebrating our family, our journey together and the beautiful blended family we have become.

We wanted our ceremony to reflect not only the love we share as husband and wife, but also the love, connections and relationships that make our family so special. John understood just how important this was to us. He recognised that our wedding was not simply the joining of two people, but a celebration of two families coming together as one.

He embraced this so beautifully, ensuring that our children and family were not simply guests witnessing our marriage, but an important part of the story we were telling. He made everyone feel included, valued and loved, and gave our ceremony a depth of meaning that words can barely describe. At our humanist service, John made every one of our guests feel as though they were part of our wedding, not simply observing it. He created a warm, personal atmosphere where everyone felt connected to our story and included in the celebration.

Our ceremony was everything we could have wished for and so much more. It was personal, meaningful, emotional and filled with love, laughter and memories. John had an incredible ability to capture who we are, not only as a couple but as a family, and turn our story into something truly beautiful. Every word felt as though it belonged to us, and that is something we will treasure forever.

But John's involvement didn't end with our ceremony. As our toastmaster, he continued to be such an important part of our celebrations. His warmth, professionalism, humour and natural ability to put everyone at ease made such a difference. Knowing that someone who understood us so well was there to guide us through the day was incredibly reassuring.

What makes John truly exceptional isn't simply how brilliantly he carries out his roles, but the person he is. He has a genuine warmth, kindness and sincerity that cannot be taught. He doesn't just turn up and do a job. He invests himself in the people, the emotions and the memories that make a wedding so special.

There are people who provide a service, and then there are people who leave a lasting impression on your heart. John is most definitely one of those people.

When we look back on our wedding day, we won't just remember the beautiful ceremony or how smoothly everything ran. We will remember the laughter, the reassurance, the kindness and the wonderful man who stood beside us through it all.

John, you didn't simply help us create our wedding day. You understood what our marriage represented, what our family means to us and why it was so important that everyone felt part of something truly special.

You helped us celebrate not just the beginning of our marriage, but the beautiful family and life we have built together. For that, we will always be grateful.

If you are looking for a celebrant or toastmaster, we cannot recommend John highly enough. He is truly one of a kind, and any couple lucky enough to have him involved in their wedding will understand exactly what we mean.

We honestly couldn’t recommend our toastmaster enough! From start to finish, he was absolutely fantastic and played such a huge part in making our wedding day run so smoothly. He kept everything organised and on schedule, made sure everyone knew where they needed to be, and took so much of the pressure off us so we could relax and enjoy every moment.

John was such a key part of our day and he made us both feel at ease whilst keeping the day running. We didn't have to worry at all about anything thanks to John - which on a day with so many moving parts, is vital to have someone we could both trust to do so.

John immediately understood our more chilled out, alternative vibe and was very much a part of our whole day, not just providing a service, but providing support, compassion and calm!

He had a lot to do with a dog bridesmaid, a birthday celebration in the middle of speeches and a very complicated shift schedule hindering the pre-meetings but not once was anything too much or too complicated. He worked seamlessly with our wedding coordinator and made the day extra special.

John was amazing from start to finish! From the first message, he was warm, funny and kind! Our first face to face meeting ended up being longer than planned, as John is just so easy to get along with and talk to. He really helped us ease our fears, as we had no idea what we were doing 😂. He checked in on us in the run up to the wedding and even read a speech for us, as we aren't keen on the limelight!
John really helped with the smooth running of our day and liaised with the catering, photographer and dj to ensure everything was on time and correct!
Everyone commented on how great John was and he felt more like a guest (who knew what he was doing) than someone we had hired for the day!

John was absolutely amazing! We booked John only a few months before our wedding as we wanted everyone to enjoy the day rather than key members supporting organising and it was so worth it! Despite it being fairly last minute John was straight on organising meet ups. John was responsive and friendly from the get go, he answered any questions we had and was full of tips and tricks of the trade to support us! He was always on hand whenever we needed and even took a trip to our venue to get familiar with it before the day! On the day, everything run smoothly - as far as we know anyway!! Which means if it didn’t we had no idea as it was handled so well by John! Our guests loved him and he really did make sure our day ran as smoothly as possible! He took so so much stress of our plates but also our families plates which means we could all just be 100% in the moment! He was a top supllier and just so so fab!

John was by far the best addition to our wedding! His service was remarkable. He has a great ability to be able to accommodate to all guests and connect on a personal level. His level of attention he showed me and my wife was amazing, regular meetings and even face to face! He has a great sense of humour and can really light up a room with his personality.

Never did I think about having a toastmaster for my wedding.. that was what I thought until I met John at an event. After he told me his role and then reflecting on my family and those members who were “in the toilet” “smoking” or just generally “outside chatting” and missed out on special moments at a wedding, I knew that he was a must!

From the moment we asked John to help us with our day he’s been a dream! He is always on his phone answering our many questions. We had a pre wedding meet to go through everything. He generally really cared about day and making it so special for us, even getting to know our bridal party.

Thank you John for contributing to our amazing day and being so lovely! You’re definitely a highlight from the guests! And I’m not being biased because he’s a Crystal Palace supporter. Having John at your wedding is definitely the icing on the (wedding) cake!

If I could give John more stars I would! He was absolutely fantastic, I cannot stress how incredible he is.

From our first Online meeting to our wedding John was professional, patient and caring. He made our day run so smoothly, our guests absolutely loved him! So much so some have already gotten in touch for their own events.

He ensured that the vibe on our day was exactly what we wanted, that our guests who needed a little extra care were well looked after and informed, worked really well with the venue team and photographer for the most efficient wedding photo shoot I've ever seen!

Well what can I say apart from that John is just amazing. From the first conversations over email John came across as such a lovely person. On speaking on video call John was highly professional but certainly down for a good laugh. We are a very laid back couple yet had a few questions for John which were answered quickly and professionally. John messaged me on the morning of the wedding which was really a lovely touch. John had spoken about a special task for our 7 year old son which made him super excited. Our son can be very wary around new people and he had decided to make a speech - I text John the night before the wedding to let him know this (we had previously spoken about it) just to give John the heads up. On the day John was truly fantastic! We honestly couldn’t have done the day without him. From welcoming people on arrival to ensuring everyone was ready for when I walked down with my dad. When it came time to welcome us into the room he stood with our son and let him bang the gavel and made a joke with our son. John really made him feel at ease and John bigged him up a lot to make him feel confident to do his speech. We had so many lovely compliments from our guests saying how lovely John was ensuring they were all okay etc. John really is the best of the best!! Thank you so much John.

Toastmaster John hosted our day 02.06.2025 at TTBB. We met John at a wedding in 2024 and instantly knew we wanted him to host our day. He’s service is second to none and we couldn’t be anymore thankful to him. From first contact, right up until our wedding day, John kept in regular contact, making sure he knew every small detail about our day. He’s professionalism, knowledge and advice couldn’t be beaten. John, we can’t thank you enough for all you did for us! If you are in need of a toastmaster - he is 100% your man!

John kept in contact with us from the early stages where we had a phone call and an in person meeting to discuss our plans and how he can help us. He really helped out the Mother of the Bride with her speech giving her tips and helping her practice which gave her so much more confidence. He was very easy to contact and was incredibly responsive.

On the day John did an incredible job of keeping all our guests informed of where they needed to be and lifting some of the stress from my Wife and I's shoulders. We had excellent feedback from our guests who loved not only his help but his fun personality

From the moment I first contacted John there was a connection the conversation flowed and automatically (after speaking to 10 previous toastmasters) I knew John was the one for the day! he checked in with me regularly in the lead up to the wedding, we had zoom calls, phone calls, texts & meet in person before the day! I really got to know me and my family and all the details he picked up through conversation he brought to the wedding itself.
