If you fancy a honeymoon in Greece and want a recommendation, you've come to the right place!

Since opening its doors in 2018, Carpe Diem Santorini has won the hearts and approvals of newlywed couples, as well as a number of impressive awards. We visited to discover more about this dreamy honeymoon resort and its brand new wedding venue...

Where is Carpe Diem Santorini?

You’ll find Carpe Diem on the gorgeous Greek island of Santorini, famous for its white-bricked blue-roof buildings. Specifically, it’s located beside Pyrgos, a sleepy village surrounded by vineyards which is only 10-15 minutes by car from Santorini airport.

Honeymooning at Carpe Diem Santorini

Large white room with bed, sofa, armchair, coffee table, fireplace and open door

It’s hard to imagine a hotel that combines luxury and romance better than Carpe Diem Santorini. The hotel’s solitary location really makes you feel like you’re the only people in the world - there’s no better way to enjoy each other’s company.

We had the pleasure of staying in the honeymoon suite itself, complete with two showers, a huge bathtub and a vanity room. This room is the very definition of luxury.

The luxury continues throughout the hotel. From the peaceful private sun loungers to the candlelit restaurant to relaxing on-site spa, this venue is packed full of romance.

The Dunes Wedding Venue at Carpe Diem Santorini

Not only is this an ideal Greek honeymoon location, but now you can also tie the knot here thanks to the opening of Carpe Diem’s wedding venue. This outdoor venue is a beautiful place to tie the knot - a volcanic rock staircase and traditional Cycladic door lead to the stage area, with 270 degree views across the entire island of Santorini.

The venue also boasts landscaped gardens perfect for pictures, and can be converted into an outdoor dining space as well. We love the idea of watching the sun set over the island, surrounded by your loved ones.

The Wedding Venue Facilities

Good news for water babies: not only can you make use of the gorgeous infinity pool with views over the entire island, you’ll also be treated to your own private heated pool right outside your room with two sun loungers.

If you want to turn the relaxation all the up to 100, then you *have* to check out the spa - here you can treat yourself to a massage, sauna session and a dip in the hydrotherapy pool.

Food and Drink at Carpe Diem Santorini

While there are so many high points to this venue, the absolutely unforgettable highlight has got to be the food.

The gorgeous breakfast feast changes every day and always sets you up for the day - definitely don’t miss out on the chocolate tahini cake. Lunch is another unmissable event packed full of traditional Greek flavours.

However, dinner at Exaltis restaurant is indescribable. With views over the Greek island, calming smooth jazz music and friendly and knowledgeable sommeliers, you’ll feel like you’re in paradise - and that’s before you even get to the food! Menu highlights include the beautifully tender veal and the sour tarhana octopus.

If you manage to drag yourself away from the luxurious rooms, restaurant and pools, you’ll find plenty of things to discover in the local area. The staff are more than happy to offer advice, and thanks to their help, we ended up taking a hike to a gorgeous local monastery, exploring the adjacent picturesque village of Pyrgos and taking the bus to the island’s capital, Fira/Thira.
