A Luxe, Modern, Blush Pink and Gold Destination Wedding at Elixir Ibiza + a Berta Gown

Denise and Marco's glamorous and modern Ibizan celebration was serious destination wedding goals.

When asked what inspired the wedding décor, bride Denise said: “Romance and luxury with a hint of modernism.” And we think there’s no better way to describe this gorgeous Ibizan wedding that began with a gift-filled gathering of girls in silk robes and ended with dancing as the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea.

From that Berta gown to the blush pink floral arch at the altar and the dapper groomswear, every inch of this wedding screamed style and glamour.

The Wedding Dress

Denise had always planned to marry in a Berta gown, so it’s no surprise that she quickly chose her perfect dress.

“I got my dress from The Wedding Club in London. I fell in love with Berta about five years ago when I saw how modern and sexy yet tasteful the dresses were. I remember working that much harder because when the time came, I knew I would marry in Berta.

“I wanted a dress that would give me two looks, as I didn't want to purchase two dresses. My dress was the second wedding dress I had tried on. When I first saw myself in the mirror, I lost it and though it may sound cliché, that dress chose me.

"It was 3AM in NYC when I called my mom, who unfortunately couldn't be with me in London. When she saw me, she was speechless and couldn't control her tears either. My two bridesmaids who flew in from NYC also couldn't control their emotions. So, with a room full of super emotional women, I said YES to my Berta dream dress!”

Denise’s dress featured a fishtail silhouette, long sheer sleeves and a tulle overskirt that she removed for the evening reception. The look was finished with a jaw-dropping full-length veil, sparkling earrings and a matching hairpiece.

Bridal Beauty

As a destination bride, Denise had to consider not only the ideas she loved but also the possibility of humidity playing havoc with her beauty look.

“After months of pinning photos on Pinterest I realised I kept pinning the same look: Hollywood waves. While searching for my beauty team, I came across multiple stylists whom discouraged the look because of our destination. I genuinely didn’t want to settle for an up-do like most recommend. I finally found a stylist who was extremely positive and mentioned she would do her best to achieve my dream look.

“Together we decided to also add a ponytail for the evening to help with the humidity and care-free dancing. For makeup I wanted a natural look in the hope of staying cool and shine-free in the sun. For the evening I added a pop of red lipstick and took off my overskirt which gave me a flawless second look.”

The Wedding Party

Denise’s bridesmaids wore a combination of sequin, crepe and lace gowns in varying shades of pink. Each bridesmaid’s look was finished with a dazzling pair of star drop earrings, gifted to them on the morning of the wedding.

When it came to the groomswear, Marco chose black tie for himself and his boys. Marco wore a white jacket with gold buttons teamed with black trousers, while the groomsmen wore grey jackets finished with pink pocket squares.

Denise and Marco’s adorable flower girl wore a flower crown in her hair which perfectly complemented her ivory, tulle dress and rose gold ballet slippers.

The Ceremony

Denise and Marco said ‘I do’ on the seafront terrace of their venue, Elixir Ibiza, in front of an intimate selection of friends and family.

An arch made with foliage and pink and white flowers sat above the altar and blush pink petals were scattered down the aisle.

Readings were performed by members of the bridal party before the bride and groom made their way down the aisle underneath a shower of petals.

The Décor and Special Touches

Denise loved the idea of a romantic and delicate yet modern blush pink wedding. Marco introduced the idea of gold and rose gold as secondary colours and the couple were instantly in love with their theme.

With the venue already beautifully styled, the couple kept their own touches simple, giving the wedding an elegant and contemporary look. “We were fortunate to have a venue that was already beautifully decorated and needed minimal decorations. Our ceremony area was decorated with a flower circle and chairs covered in ivory tulle with blush flowers.

“For the dinner area, we added some rose gold runners with romantic blush flower arrangements to incorporate our colour palette. Rose gold acrylic table numbers and gold acrylic luggage tags were used to incorporate a modern touch.

“We also made it personal by placing our engagement photos around the venue and finished by inserting some fun acrylic signage I had personally handmade.”

Denise and Marco also created a seating plan made from shots with personalised cocktail mixers and asked guests to use the Shoot It Yourself service to capture all the details - and the fun - on video!

The Entertainment

The couple hired a local sax player to entertain guests at the wedding reception along with a DJ.

Guests danced and waved glow sticks in true Ibizan style as the sun set over the majestic coastal backdrop.
