I began my career in events over 20 years ago, planning high‑profile, complex corporate events with demanding timelines and intricate stakeholder needs.

Those years taught me how to hold complex planning needs with calm professionalism, how to structure an event so it flows seamlessly, and how to anticipate challenges long before they appear.

Over time, I felt drawn toward work that centred around people more deeply. I moved into organising charity events, community gatherings, retreats, and wellbeing festivals, events where the purpose wasn’t profit or performance, but connection, care, and support. I saw how an event could genuinely change how someone feels: more grounded, more inspired, more understood.

That became my simple guiding principle: events should be built around what truly matters, creating spaces where people leave feeling better than when they arrived.

Weddings are one of the few spaces where this philosophy truly comes alive. They’re built around what matters — full of emotion, meaning, and personal story. They deserve planning that honours that.

I founded Somerset Wedding Consulting because I wanted to bring my experience from high‑pressure corporate environments and my heart‑led community work into a space where clarity, intention, and care matter more than anything else.
