Our experience with Lydia for our UK wedding party was extremely disappointing and frustrating.

After our wedding in Las Vegas, we wanted to continue the Vegas theme at our UK party and hired Lydia based on her assurance that she could deliver similar high-quality, film-style photography. We provided her with inspiration photos and explained our vision, and she agreed enthusiastically.

We were excited to have her capture our special evening. We agreed to pay £500 for 600 photos on a USB and a printed album, with the promise of receiving previews within 2 weeks and the full album within 5 weeks.
Unfortunately, it has now been over 10 weeks since our party, and we have still not received the USB or the printed album.

The digital previews arrived late, and the full digital album was delivered well after the promised 5 weeks.

The quality of the photos we received was appalling. The majority looked as if they had been taken on a phone with a 2012 Instagram filter, far from the professional, high-quality images we were expecting based on our inspiration photos. This was a million miles away from the style and quality we were hoping for. With regards to the '600 photos' that we were promised, we actually received about 100 images with may duplicates with black & white filters.

During the party, several guests noticed that Lydia spent most of the evening standing behind the DJ and rarely ventured into the main event room or outside. She stayed mostly on the dance floor, avoiding interactions and showing no enthusiasm or effort to organise people for photos. As a result, many of our older guests who avoided the dance floor were completely absent from the final gallery, which is quite upsetting.

Lydia mentioned on the night that she doesn’t like to take photos while people are eating, which we understood. However, she took this time to sit outside, missing a prime opportunity to capture everyone together in the room.

We have tried reaching out to Lydia several times since the party to express our disappointment and inquire about the USB and printed album, which we have paid for but still not received. Unfortunately, she has ignored our attempts to contact her.

To compare, our Vegas photographer, who we also sent the same inspiration photos, delivered stunning photos, previews within 2 days, and a full gallery within 4 weeks. Despite handling around 6 weddings a week, they managed to meet and exceed our expectations without any excuses.

Overall, we are extremely disappointed with Lydia Jane Photography. The quality of service and professionalism was far below what we were promised and expected for such an important and once-in-a-lifetime event.

We do not recommend Lydia Jane Photography to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled photographer to capture their special moments.
