I created Grae Hood Photography for every person who doesn’t see themselves in traditional wedding photography.
As an LGBTQIA+-owned business, GHP is for the queers, the rebels and the weirdos, no matter what that looks like.

A full day of coverage and all my years of expertise during the planning are yours for £1750. All you need is a £250 deposit to lock in your date!
*Looking for just ceremony coverage? I can do that too! Just get in touch to get a custom quote, starting at £600 for two hours.

I am a documentary photographer. In life and at weddings.
On the big day, I’ll be like a guest with a camera: disappearing into the crowd, cracking jokes with the fam and settling debates between besties. All while catching the best moments with my lens.
When it comes to couple photos (if you want them), I’ll be there to gently guide you into good lighting and real interaction. If you want a few easy poses because you don’t know what to do with your limbs, we can do that too.

What does the wedding package include?
Full Day: £1750 (£250 deposit).
Includes prep-to-dancing coverage, planning consult, 48-hr sneak peek & 500+ edited high-res photos within 4 weeks.
Ceremony-only starts at £600
How far in advance should I contact you?

Do you cover more than one wedding a day?

Yes, i cover the Mainland UK as well as abroad!
What is the charge for travelling?
No charge for mainland United Kingdom when booking full day coverage

What kind of equipment do you use?
I am set up with multiple modern mirrorless cameras allowing for beautiful high definition images in any situation or lighting. I also use some on-camera flash for those late-night party photos
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, i use an online gallery tool to allow sharing of your image with friends and family. This is included in the cost of your package

I charge a flat rate of £200 per hour for additional coverage if required

I accept all debit and credit cards, and payment can be broken up into several payments to suit any budget
How do you work?
I don’t like to overly pose my couples, rather I help you see your own natural chemistry in front of the camera. This leads to timeless photos of your beautiful wedding day

Perfect experience!
Totally satisfied! We hired James for our wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better photographer! He was first of all very friendly and made us at ease immediately, I undestood I could trust him for a good experience right away! During the ceremony and party he took a lot of different shots of the most crucial moments so we can really see the story of the day coming through the photos. He is very creative as well so we had a lot of fun taking the shots and we ended up with many personalised, special pictures. I was happy that when we requested a specific background or pose he was more than happy to take the pictures as we liked them. Our expectations were satisfied as the photos look just amazing, the quality and colours are superb, the majority of them have a very natural feeling as we wanted. I can only highly recommend James for weddings, but I believe he would know to capture good memories in any sort of event!

James was amazing, we got our photos back very quickly and we love them! I am very awkward and being photographed by someone I didn’t know felt quite daunting however James makes you feel instantly at ease. All my family commented on how lovely James was and he’s very talented at what he does. James is exactly the type of person you want photographing your wedding, thank you James!

Simply the best
James was the most incredible photographer at our wedding. He is just the most lovely person and his communication before, during and after the event was excellent. Outstanding Service
James was absolutely fantastic. We were quite nervous, but he made us feel at ease, and we ended up spending most of the engagement photoshoot laughing! I like that he gave us some guidance but not so much that we felt like robots! Thanks so much, James!

Absolutely amazing!
We met James at a wedding fair, and we are so glad we did because when our original photographer backed out 10 days before the wedding, we were able to hire James! Such a great experience, he's very professional, very responsive and the photos are so beautiful! The candids are very natural and really show how much fun everyone had. The photos were returned so quickly too! I can't stop looking at them. I would definitely recommend James to anyone getting married in the London area.

Amazing photographer
James at Eyes Closed Head First, is an amazing photographer who truly captured our wedding day perfectly. He mingled and snapped away all day, putting my husband and I and our guests at ease. Both of us are nervous in front of a camera, but James was wonderful, he made us feel so relaxed and any worries we had were superseded by pure joy. We couldn't recommend James enough, he is simply the best.
