Folkstorie specialises in cinematic, dreamy coverage of intimate weddings and elopements with a focus on candid images.
My style is influenced by the wild beauty of the Scottish countryside, which will be showcased wherever possible. I will go the extra mile to make the planning process as stress-free as possible!
I am based out of the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Services Offered
I have a range of packages to choose from so you can pick whatever best fits your budget and wishes. You'll get to meet with me for an initial consultation to talk about your ideas for the wedding.
I am also happy to recommend other vendors for you to work with on your day, from florists to musicians. After the wedding, the images will be shared on a convenient online gallery for you to browse and share at your own leisure.
Albums are also available to add onto packages. Get in touch for details!

What does the wedding package include?
Pre-wedding consultations, personal recommendations for vendors/music, venues, high resolution online gallery.
Above all, a great service! My clients can reach out to me any time, I'm here to help!
How far in advance should I contact you?
Contact me any time - but in order to secure your date, I recommend getting in touch at least 6 months prior to the wedding day. This gives the best chance of me being free for your big day
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, worldwide!
I am based in Scotland, but willing to travel to most places on the globe
What is the charge for travelling?
Travel costs depend on the location. If overnight accommodation is required, the cost will be added on. I make sure there are no hidden costs, everything will be crystal clear!

What kind of technology do you use?
Digital
Do you use a specific technique or innovative approach?
I tailor the experience to my specific clients as much as possible. I like movement in my photographs! Less awkward poses, more candid and genuine moments. That's what I love
What kind of equipment do you use?
I shoot on Sony camera systems. They are incredibly quick and reliable. I always carry multiple cameras on the day for ease and security purposes
Do you offer any tool to display the photos online?
Yes, pic-time. I find this online gallery to be beautiful, intuitive and very useful to order prints from. Web-sized and full resolution images can be downloaded straight from Pic-time
What's the delivery time for a photographic report?
1 month
Do you send all the photos taken?

Do you work alone or do you have a team of professionals?

How do you charge extra time?
This is worked out on a client-by-client basis. In the past, clients have been offered hour-by-hour coverage at a rate of £150 per hour

How do you work?
With a particular focus on candids, I aim to capture 'real' moments from your big day in an artistic, cinematic style. I try to stay in the background as much as possible. You are the main characters!

The perfect experience.
We had a brilliant time with Josh from Folkstorie. He went above and beyond to make my partner and I comfortable, despite us both being rather camera shy. The shoot itself was really fun as Josh is super friendly and a chatty guy- who makes you feel at ease throughout (resulting in excellent and natural looking shots)!
The resulting album that we received was promptly delivered and we were both really pleased with the editing. There is a beautiful tone to the images, which looks better than the location did in real life.
I would not hesitate to have a shoot with Josh again. It was such an enjoyable experience (I never thought I could say that about getting my photo taken) and we were so pleased with the results. Thanks a million.

Great guy, awesome photos!
Josh made us feel so relaxed and comfortable! And that's quite an achievement because we're both pretty camera shy. We had all our favourite music playing and we were free to go wherever we wanted - we basically just had a day out while Josh took snaps, and then every once in a while he'd spot a particularly good photo opportunity and give us suggestions and stuff. Literally can't imagine it going better. Would highly recommend!
