Wow, where to start? We searched through loads of photographers before coming across AJay’s photos on our planning website, and straight away we knew she was for us. Her relaxed, natural style whilst also making it fun was exactly what we wanted. We’ve never been professionally photographed before but AJay made us feel massively at ease, helped us through and actually encouraged us with our fits of giggles we inevitably had.

On our wedding, AJay was punctual, professional and calm; which definitely helped with all of the pre-wedding jitters. AJay even did some running around for me (bride) and was literally my lifesaver that morning and words can’t describe how grateful I was for that. She captured all of the candid and beautiful moments that we’ll endlessly treasure. AJay really captured the essence of our relationship (all 10 years of it!) in some of her snaps and they are literally so perfect. She kept all of our family in line when taking the group pictures, and even managed to squeeze in some extra pictures that we’d initially forgot to add to our list. For those who are anxious about pictures, don’t be! Half the time we barely noticed that pictures were being taken of us which made them seem so natural.

AJay is so patient and massively easy to get a long with. She’s the perfect match for basically anyone, and adapts to suit the needs of whoever she works with. We’d recommend AJay to anyone who asked and if we ever want or need a professional photographer again, she’ll be our first choice! :)

We had the Songbird package and my only regret is we didn't have her there for longer. Where do I start?

From the very first interaction online, I just knew A-Jay was going to be our photographer. Her candid shots had this magic about them—exactly what we dreamed of for our wedding. Then we met her in person at a wedding fayre, and that sealed it. Her vibe clicked instantly. It didn’t feel like we were booking a photographer; it felt like we’d found a best friend to capture our day.

On the wedding morning, A-Jay turned up bright and early ,camera in hand, huge smile on her face and immediately jumped in to help. She helped my mum get my dress out of its bag, arranged my veil so the creases would drop, then whisked away my shoes and rings for the most gorgeous detail shots.

Throughout the day, she was everywhere and nowhere all at once always in the thick of it, yet somehow invisible.

She was endlessly patient with us, even though I’ve always been known as the family jokester. From my little antics to our last-second decision to do a dip during a walk about shoot . Which prompted A-Jay to exclaim “You’ve gotta warn a girl if you’re gonna do that!”, she caught it all.

Guests even said, “I can hear the photographer… but I can’t see her!”

And it wasn’t just us every single guest was captured beautifully. From joyful hugs to quiet smiles, from heartfelt reactions to those blink-and-you-miss-it moments of chaos.

We would highly recommend AJay to anyone. She was very thorough in everything. We're not ones to be posey for photos and she took a lot of natural ones of us. She included all the guests we asked for, for our group photos. She covered the whole day and it was lovely too see photos of all the guests. She is very creative with her photos as well capturing our wedding flowers beautifuly. We searched and searched for a photographer via other recommendations and online for a while and none really took our fancy, before we came across Blue Jay and new instantly she was the one we wanted to capture our special day and we booked a package straight away but then decided to upgrade.

We first reached out to AJay around a year and a half ago when we first got engaged. She was friendly and informative and immediately made me feel comfortable talking to her. After looking through her work on her website and Instagram page and finding beautiful examples, we decided to book her. We were able to get a specialised plan that was tailored to us, meaning we didn't have to compromise on missing parts of the day. The process was quick and easy as AJay's communication was fantastic.
We booked an engagement shoot with AJay a year before our wedding and had a fantastic experience. She suggested a beautiful location that was linked with Lord of the Rings, which she knew was an interest of ours through our previous conversations. I was nervous for the experience but she was calm and encouraging, offering gentle suggestions of poses and we soon began to enjoy ourselves. She even climbed into a stream for a good shot - definitely going the extra mile! She produced a beautiful gallery of photos for us with a really quick turn around. It gave us even more confidence that she was the perfect choice for our wedding day.
On the wedding day, AJay already felt like a friend. It felt like she took a real interest in our wedding day, us as a couple, and what we wanted from our day. She contacted us beforehand about photo lists and helped me work through logistics. She was more than happy to add additional group photos on the day and was not shy when it came to getting people involved. She checked in with us throughout our bride and groom to make sure that we were happy and comfortable to continue. She has an amazing eye for framing the images and the areas she chose were stunning. She let us be our natural selves with the occasional suggestion for poses. She worked extremely well with our videographer with many people commenting that they thought they were from the same company, due to their great teamwork.
AJay posted some sneak peeks on her Instagram following the day which kept us excited and eager to see the results. We received our gallery within the 6 weeks and were blown away by them. The images are beautiful - the perfect mix of us, our guests and the decor details. There are many shots that I didn't realise were being taken, which is a testament to how well AJay can do her job without making you feel on the spot. She has captured the day beautifully and we can really see the love of the day. It was like reliving it all over again. She has produced beautiful images (even though I'm sure we made it difficult by laughing through at least 80% of the process) which we will be proud to hang on the wall.
A friend of mine has already been convinced to book her based on her work at our wedding! AJay was amazing! Really good value for money. She was so attentive the whole day making sure to get the group shots but also the little detail shots of my shoes and the rings etc... She also made sure to get relaxed photos of people just enjoying the day. She was so lovely and made you feel comfortable.

My husband & I got married in Santorini in 2020. A-Jay (Alex) was a guest at our wedding. The photos she took on the night were incredible.
