The first time we visited Mythe Barn, we fell in love with the place, it just ticked a lot of the things on our list, from chic country style vibe, with two large enough rooms, for our needs, to the highly recommended catering by the team. We decided to trust them and booked our wedding day with them.
We were not disappointed!
Amee (our coordinator) and Julie (the manager) were there for us on the day and I can’t thank them enough. All the kind words, all the warmth, their calm and the genuine care for my wellbeing touched me and kept me going throughout the day, despite not feeling very well. They even put aside some food for me, to taste the second day, when I felt better.
Last but not least my thanks to the chef for the exceptional food, that all guests appreciated and all the personnel that made our day happen!

We got married here in summer 2023. Whilst we really enjoyed our day we did have a few issues when you consider the cost of the venue.

Positives:
-It’s a gorgeous venue & we got many compliments on this. They mowed the grass in the morning & it looked lovely in the photos.
-They were quick at responding to any queries we had via email.
-You have a private space upstairs you can get ready (one party only e.g. bride) but are unable to access this until 10am so if you are not really local you may have to start getting ready in a hotel somewhere else first.
-Honeymoon suite onsite that includes robes, great biscuits and a stocked mini-fridge
-There is a few rooms onsite for a few people to stay (these are quite expensive though) which are nice
-The pizza oven outside is great and went down very well with our guests
-Ice cream bike is also a great touch (extra charge)
-We did a trio of desserts for a supplement and everyone loved this
-They catered to dietary requirements and allergies on our wedding day well
-Some nice photo spots around the venue
-The venue is private so you only have you and your guests on the day
-When viewing the venue the first time we didn’t feel pushed into making a decision there & then, it was nice and relaxed
-Guest bathroom is lovely and has some special touches
-They save some of your cake for you if you ask and save some appetisers for the bride & groom whilst you take photos.
-You get handed a drink when you come out of the ceremony.
-It is nice you can have breakfast with your family the next morning in the breakfast room.

Negatives pre-wedding:
-After you book the venue you can show anyone around that you’d like which is great, we wanted to show my nan around due to her age as we booked 2 years in advance. We went inside and waited around for 20 minutes where we were ignored then told to show ourselves around. I wish they had just said this at the start.
-Food tasting is expensive and you get no choice in which courses you get, you get one different plate each per course. I think it was £75 each. A lot of my friends at other venues had this included. The lady next to us was given a meal with nuts in after telling them explicitly she had a nut allergy. You get seated on a table of 8-10 so with random couples. You do get alcohol included in the money included a rum bar, gin bar & some wine tasting. There are some appetisers that come round too before the sit down meal.
-Our food tasting event date we booked in advance and this changed 4 times before the date, the last time this was a few weeks before.
-We had some issues with the payment schedule where we tried to pay, they said we had paid, then changed their minds again which caused confusion.
- The recommended supplier list they gave out needs updating, a few of them are no longer is business.
-We had a wedding meeting booked when there was a wedding on and we walked up the road when a wedding car was coming. They hadn’t told us our meeting was in the offices at the back, we felt so bad about this. We had no idea because it was a Monday we assumed no weddings.
-We felt pushed to have venue dressers as it seemed like if we got our own stuff they’d help us reluctantly but wanted us to have venue dressers.
-No sparklers allowed for the wedding evening
-They will not allow you to use meal packages in August which seems unfair.

Negatives during wedding:
-You can’t bring in your own drink for the morning even though the bar is closed early on in the day & their prosecco price is extortionate
-There is a big ugly white unit right above where the top table is. It’s a shame this isn’t lower or somewhere else.
-The groomsmen get ready in the breakfast room, the only real space is just a few chairs and a cringe painting. It seems unfair compared to the bridal suite.
-The bar is expensive and wouldn’t accept cash. We were not aware of this so couldn’t warn others and my grandad only brought cash with him so had to ask others for drinks.
-The morning after our wedding I think we had to be checked out of our honeymoon suite by around 10. They were showing couples around our honeymoon suite when we were still in there in the morning. I thought this was very unprofessional.
-We had steak for our main and no steak knife was provided, it was hard to cut & chew. A few of my elderly relatives had to ask to cook it more.
-I made a playlist of music to play during dinner and they didn’t play it. They didn’t tell me or my bridesmaids there was an issue and my MOH noticed and had to chase them.
-I spent time adding photos to a memory stick for the tv and they didn’t put it on for us.
-I asked for the wedding cake to be served around 8. I had to ask 4 times on my wedding day and was told it was being done every time. It got put out so late (like after 10:30-11) that some of my elderly relatives who left a bit early didn’t get any.
-You detail out your wishes in a long document. I asked to put sweets on table as a favour & this was not done, they were put in a bowl on a sweet table instead.
-I ordered 3 breakfast boards for the morning, they all came out on one board. There didn’t seem to be much there for the money. I asked for a vegan board but it was 2 croissants and not worth the money.
-We paid for breakfast for our family the next day and there were no vegan pastries provided in the morning & given a pack of biscuits instead.


Overall we still did have a great day and our guests enjoyed it but there were a few instances that I was not happy with. I filled in a really long document which was accepted then a number of things were not actioned on the day. I think for the price it should have been more seamless.

I can not simply put enough words into this review to explain just how incredible Mythe barn is to get married at. It is not only the beautiful venue and scenic views but the staff throughout the whole booking, planning process to on the day were absolutely outstanding! We even had a member of staff come to our honeymoon suite in the evening after offering to help me to get out of my dress past midnight! Ellis was my point of contact throughout the planning and that woman is just incredible! The morning after the wedding she even popped by just to come and say goodbye! If I could have kept her in my life to organise my life as well as she did our wedding day my life would be a breeze! 😂 from the bottom of my heart though to all of the staff there thank-you for giving us the most unreal day and making the wedding planning so enjoyable and stress free!! I could not recommend getting married here enough!! 🤍⭐️

Before getting married, I always thought the expense of a wedding was such a waste of money, but the Mythe Barn experience made me realise how wrong I was!

The Mythe Barn is such a stunning venue, and the service we received was just outstanding. From the very beginning of the whole process, Amee, Lisa and the team were absolutely fantastic. There was never a question or request too big or small that they weren't happy to help with. Special thanks for accommodating our guests who were late in responding to our invites.

Our guests kept on commenting about how beautiful the venue was, and how amazing the food was - we went for the premier food package, and it did not disappoint.

It's such a cliche to say it - though I guess it's a cliche for a reason - but we both had the best day of our lives. The day was so perfect, and when we were lying in bed the following morning (in the honeymoon suite!), we both commented that there wasn't a single thing we would have changed about it.

We got married at Mythe Barn in November 2024 and our day was perfect. The food was outstanding and we had so many compliments from guests.

The staff were all lovely and I would like to particularly thank Amee who looked after us and our guests incredibly well and the dining room manager (Julie I think) who was also very helpful.

We were lucky enough to have our wedding at Mythe on the 1st November. What a venue. Our day was absolutely magical and we couldn’t be more thankful. From start to finish, Sophie and the team at Mythe were on hand to provide advice, guidance and support and on the day, they took care of everything. There wasn’t a moment where I needed to lift a finger and everything flowed perfectly. There is not one thing we would change about our day and the venue was perfect in achieving the autumnal venue we had hoped for. Getting ready with my bridesmaids and mother in the room upstairs with the breakfast was great, the ceremony flowed perfectly, the wedding breakfast was of high quality (even being lactose intolerant - Mythe catered for my dietaries - without changing the menu drastically!). There was limited wait time at the bar and the service was 5*. I would recommend Mythe to anyone looking for their dream wedding. Thank you so much Sophie - our dream wedding literally came true! Professional, friendly and everything we could ask for.

From the minute we walked into venue we knew that it was the one for us. Nothing was too much or too much hassle. The entire process was smooth and easy.

Ellis on the day was fantastic as was Elaine going into the night. We had an absolute blast. Every little detail was catered to and don't even get me started on the food. We received so many compliments on the food, it was simply incredible.

The entire team were extremely professional and friendly, they are such a popular venue they have weddings booked most days but we were made to feel as though we were their only wedding the high quality of service we received. The food was sensational and the catering team were wonderful. The overall look of the venue was just what we wanted and we loved that everything was on one site. The outdoor space was lovely and the outdoor pizza oven was a big hit!

The staff at Mythe Barn were incredibly accommodating. They were always on hand throughout the day to make us feel at ease. No request was too big. Sophie and Julie (managers at Mythe Barn) went above and beyond to make our special day stress free, and totally enjoyable from start to finish. The food was out of this world - many of the guests commented on the delicious food. The portion sizes were generous too. Do note that all vendors must have public liability insurance for this venue. The venue is absolutely stunning and the staff really do ensure that you have the most perfect day.

We knew Mythe Barn was the venue we had to get married in from the first moment we saw it back in 2022. Over the last couple of years we went back at every opportunity we had. Fast forward to 9th September 2024 and we couldn't have been happier with our choice but sad it's all over. We only had 1 meeting during these 2 years as the lady who was meant to be dealing with us had left the business and didn't pass on what we wanted but that was all forgiven on the day!

Ellis and Julie were amazing throughout the day. Ellis ensured we were fed and watered during the drinks reception even though we had our nephew trying to steal our onion bhajis! Nothing was too small or too big of an ask and were both so friendly and professional. Not forgetting the lovely waitress and waitresses on the day too! Thank you.

The food was absolutely outstanding and definitely very filling! The wood fire pizzas went down a hit too.

Our dog was able to come during the drinks reception which was a lovely touch.

Following several wedding venue reviews, my daughter chose Mythe Barn following great reviews and recommendations, in fairness it was her first choice from the outset.

Back in January, the team allowed a thorough visit and guided them through what facilities and services could be provided for their special day - and August was chosen.

The grounds surrounding the venue are stunning and so is the reception area all made out of natural oak.

The team provided everything possible for such a special day and the whole venue was decorated perfectly in the chosen colour scheme, and what was extra special is the food quality. It was exceptional and of the highest quality with everything being served swiftly and with great care and attention. This I must give special note too!!

There are also seven rooms were selected guests can stay overnight which is part of the package depending on which one is chosen.

All of the staff were friendly and professional from the moment the guests arrived, and bacon sandwiches were served which was lovely, so everybody had something before getting changed (and to steady the nerves). A separate room was provided for the groom to get changed (with his groomsmen) and this also had a bucket of cold beers just to get the wedding off to a good start. The bride’s room was exquisite and overlook the grounds and countryside. Nothing could prepare me for her entrance to the wedding and walking down the stairs – it was magical.

May I take this opportunity to advise a special mention to all of the team who looked after our family and guests until late onwards where nothing was too much trouble :

Following the wedding breakfast everybody ventured outside to enjoy a drink in the lovely gardens and also watch fresh pizza’s being prepared in a wooden oven.

Sincerely, the day could not of gone any better and we could of not wished for anything more.

On Saturday 10th August, my wife and I had the perfect wedding at Mythe barn. From the moment we visited the venue the staff couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating. Throughout our magical day, the team took all of our stresses away, ensuring the venue looked perfect and that our guests, family, and ourselves were looked after to allow the day to flow smoothly and successfully.

We want to give a special mention to Sophie for everything she did for us on the day, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and we were both happy. From ensuring me and my wife had canapés and drinks during our photos to brushing my wife’s hair before our first dance, she couldn’t have done anything more to make our day so special. Sophie also made sure to ask how each course was during our meal, taking the time to check that the food (which was very accommodating and tasted incredible) was alright for us. As my wife is coeliac, the venue was extremely accommodating, making special canapés for her and ensuring that each course was adapted for her dietary requirements. Another special mention to Emma for taking over in the evening and ensuring that our evening continued to run perfectly. The little touches from Emma, such as moving things up to our suite, meant we didn’t have to worry about anything, making the day that much more special. Emma also ensured we had eaten and drank as she knew we were busy greeting guests.

For anybody getting married we would recommend Mythe Barn to everyone. The stunning venue, amazing service and incredible food made for an unforgettable wedding day and we can’t thank the team at Mythe Barn enough!

Emma went above and beyond for us throughout the organisation process, making the journey to the wedding as smooth as it could be. When we weren't sure on something she would advise us her opinion which we always listened to and took on. On the day itself, she made sure we were super looked after and had everything organised down to a tee, which played a massive part in making the day so special.
