The first time we visited Mythe Barn, we fell in love with the place, it just ticked a lot of the things on our list, from chic country style vibe, with two large enough rooms, for our needs, to the highly recommended catering by the team. We decided to trust them and booked our wedding day with them.
We were not disappointed!
Amee (our coordinator) and Julie (the manager) were there for us on the day and I can’t thank them enough. All the kind words, all the warmth, their calm and the genuine care for my wellbeing touched me and kept me going throughout the day, despite not feeling very well. They even put aside some food for me, to taste the second day, when I felt better.
Last but not least my thanks to the chef for the exceptional food, that all guests appreciated and all the personnel that made our day happen!

We got married at Mythe Barn on the 1st December and cannot recommend this venue enough. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, each space is beautiful and the areas for the bridal party to get ready are perfect for spending that time before the ceremony with loved friends and family.
Then you have the staff, Sophie was our coordinator and was absolutely amazing from being so organised and accommodating with the planning process to the actual day where she kept us calm and everything moving smoothly. She is also lovely and so kind.
In the later afternoon and evening we also had Julie, who was just wonderful at ensuring all of our guests and especially us as the couple were well looked after. All of the staff are delightful and so lovely, everything was ran with precision and went exactly as planned.
The food is absolutely sensational, we had the lasagne for main and a crumble for dessert. The lasagne was the best I have ever eaten, the chef is truly amazing. Our guests are still talking about the food a week later and were extremely complimentary of the entire day food, venue and staff.

If you want a beautiful wedding, to feel special and looked after as a couple and to have your guests looked after then I cannot recommend Mythe Barn enough. Our wedding day was everything we wanted and more. Thank you to Sophie, Julie and the whole team. A truly special and wonderful day for us.

Honestly words can’t express how much we loved and appreciated Mythe Barn for our wedding reception. All the staff were welcoming especially Amee in the day and Julie in the evening. We felt very taken care of - drinks when we first arrived and sneaky first bites of cake and pizza! Te day went so smoothly,we didn’t need to worry about the next part of the day as Amee & Julie had it all under control and running perfectly.
The food was fantastic and we still keep on hearing ‘that pizza was so good!’ Even a month later! The Room was fantastic and the feast of a breakfast in the morning was delicious!

We honestly couldn’t have picked a better venue for our wedding. The team were incredible from start to finish, especially Sophie, our wedding coordinator- super friendly, organised, and nothing was ever too much trouble (even when we changed our minds for the tenth time 😅).

Every little detail we asked for was taken care of perfectly, and they went above and beyond to make sure the day ran smoothly. Our guests kept commenting on how lovely everyone was… it really felt like the staff were part of the celebration rather than just running it!

Mythe Barn were absolutely incredible from start to finish of our wedding planning. The planning process was seamless and they guided us through everything we needed.
On the day of our wedding they took care of everything. The staff were incredibly responsive and looked after all our needs on the day so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Massive shout out to Amee and Julie who were the absolute stars of the day!! The food was amazing , we’ve had such good feedback from all our guests. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and the honey moon suite is most likely the most luxurious room we’ll ever stay in!

Mythe were just fantastic from the moment of booking to the day itself. Communication was fantastic throughout. Amee our co-ordinator was just brilliant - we felt in such capable hands and she really took care of us and ensured we always had drinks and canapés even during the busy part of having the group and family photos.

The day ran so smoothly and we were so well looked after along with our guests. We’ve had so many comments about how amazing the food was as well as the venue itself.

My husband and I got married at Mythe Barn on 27.09.25. We knew from the second we viewed it that it was our dream venue (it was our final viewing of 6, and we booked it on the same day that we saw it). It's a beautiful, neutral space and we envisaged a colourful decor set up that we could bring to Mythe. From our first meeting until the day itself, the team were ready to answer our many questions and guide us along the way. On the day itself, Amee and Julie made sure we were looked after every second of the day, helping us out with things we hadn't even thought of. The day ran so smoothly, our guests commented on how amazing the venue was, how good the food was, and how professional the staff were. We couldn't have asked for a better experience (from a neurotic bride who also works in events planning!). Highly, highly recommend!!

We were fortunate enough to get married at Mythe Barn on 12th April. We knew it was the perfect venue for us from the moment we looked round. It is spacious but also has an intimate feel as everything is in close proximity which was perfect for our wedding of 65 guests. We were assigned Sophie as our events manager after we booked and she was simply amazing! It’s fair to say I had a few panics about getting everything sorted for the wedding and Sophie was always on hand to put my mind at ease. On the actual day, Sophie was just amazing at making sure everything ran smoothly, alongside all the other amazing staff. A huge shoutout to Julie who managed the evening of our wedding. What stood out to us most was how we were made to feel like the most important people in the world on your big day, despite the fact all the staff do this job day in, day out for many other couples. We can’t thank Mythe Barn and Sophie enough for all their help making our big day perfect. Please book your wedding here!

We got married here in summer 2023. Whilst we really enjoyed our day we did have a few issues when you consider the cost of the venue.

Positives:
-It’s a gorgeous venue & we got many compliments on this. They mowed the grass in the morning & it looked lovely in the photos.
-They were quick at responding to any queries we had via email.
-You have a private space upstairs you can get ready (one party only e.g. bride) but are unable to access this until 10am so if you are not really local you may have to start getting ready in a hotel somewhere else first.
-Honeymoon suite onsite that includes robes, great biscuits and a stocked mini-fridge
-There is a few rooms onsite for a few people to stay (these are quite expensive though) which are nice
-The pizza oven outside is great and went down very well with our guests
-Ice cream bike is also a great touch (extra charge)
-We did a trio of desserts for a supplement and everyone loved this
-They catered to dietary requirements and allergies on our wedding day well
-Some nice photo spots around the venue
-The venue is private so you only have you and your guests on the day
-When viewing the venue the first time we didn’t feel pushed into making a decision there & then, it was nice and relaxed
-Guest bathroom is lovely and has some special touches
-They save some of your cake for you if you ask and save some appetisers for the bride & groom whilst you take photos.
-You get handed a drink when you come out of the ceremony.
-It is nice you can have breakfast with your family the next morning in the breakfast room.

Negatives pre-wedding:
-After you book the venue you can show anyone around that you’d like which is great, we wanted to show my nan around due to her age as we booked 2 years in advance. We went inside and waited around for 20 minutes where we were ignored then told to show ourselves around. I wish they had just said this at the start.
-Food tasting is expensive and you get no choice in which courses you get, you get one different plate each per course. I think it was £75 each. A lot of my friends at other venues had this included. The lady next to us was given a meal with nuts in after telling them explicitly she had a nut allergy. You get seated on a table of 8-10 so with random couples. You do get alcohol included in the money included a rum bar, gin bar & some wine tasting. There are some appetisers that come round too before the sit down meal.
-Our food tasting event date we booked in advance and this changed 4 times before the date, the last time this was a few weeks before.
-We had some issues with the payment schedule where we tried to pay, they said we had paid, then changed their minds again which caused confusion.
- The recommended supplier list they gave out needs updating, a few of them are no longer is business.
-We had a wedding meeting booked when there was a wedding on and we walked up the road when a wedding car was coming. They hadn’t told us our meeting was in the offices at the back, we felt so bad about this. We had no idea because it was a Monday we assumed no weddings.
-We felt pushed to have venue dressers as it seemed like if we got our own stuff they’d help us reluctantly but wanted us to have venue dressers.
-No sparklers allowed for the wedding evening
-They will not allow you to use meal packages in August which seems unfair.

Negatives during wedding:
-You can’t bring in your own drink for the morning even though the bar is closed early on in the day & their prosecco price is extortionate
-There is a big ugly white unit right above where the top table is. It’s a shame this isn’t lower or somewhere else.
-The groomsmen get ready in the breakfast room, the only real space is just a few chairs and a cringe painting. It seems unfair compared to the bridal suite.
-The bar is expensive and wouldn’t accept cash. We were not aware of this so couldn’t warn others and my grandad only brought cash with him so had to ask others for drinks.
-The morning after our wedding I think we had to be checked out of our honeymoon suite by around 10. They were showing couples around our honeymoon suite when we were still in there in the morning. I thought this was very unprofessional.
-We had steak for our main and no steak knife was provided, it was hard to cut & chew. A few of my elderly relatives had to ask to cook it more.
-I made a playlist of music to play during dinner and they didn’t play it. They didn’t tell me or my bridesmaids there was an issue and my MOH noticed and had to chase them.
-I spent time adding photos to a memory stick for the tv and they didn’t put it on for us.
-I asked for the wedding cake to be served around 8. I had to ask 4 times on my wedding day and was told it was being done every time. It got put out so late (like after 10:30-11) that some of my elderly relatives who left a bit early didn’t get any.
-You detail out your wishes in a long document. I asked to put sweets on table as a favour & this was not done, they were put in a bowl on a sweet table instead.
-I ordered 3 breakfast boards for the morning, they all came out on one board. There didn’t seem to be much there for the money. I asked for a vegan board but it was 2 croissants and not worth the money.
-We paid for breakfast for our family the next day and there were no vegan pastries provided in the morning & given a pack of biscuits instead.


Overall we still did have a great day and our guests enjoyed it but there were a few instances that I was not happy with. I filled in a really long document which was accepted then a number of things were not actioned on the day. I think for the price it should have been more seamless.
