Glyn Morris is an Edinburgh-based wedding bagpiper with more than thirty years of experience, including playing at Grade 1, the highest level of competitive pipe bands. He offers a friendly, personal service, helping you choose when the pipes will play and music to suit each part of your wedding.

From welcoming your guests to piping you into your wedding breakfast, Glyn brings Scottish tradition and a sense of occasion to your celebrations. You can book him for your wedding ceremony, your wedding breakfast, or both.

YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY

Glyn can play at your choice of the following moments:

• Welcoming your guests as they arrive.

• Playing for the arrival of the bride or partner and their wedding party.

• Piping the bride or partner up the aisle.

• Providing gentle background music while you and your witnesses sign the marriage schedule.

• Leading you back down the aisle as a married couple.

• Piping you through your confetti shower.

For your entrance, you can choose the traditional Highland Pipes or the softer, mellow sound of the Scottish Small Pipes. The Small Pipes are also ideal for the signing of the marriage schedule and are included at no extra cost.

YOUR WEDDING BREAKFAST

Glyn can welcome you to your reception venue and, if you are cutting your cake during the drinks reception, gather your guests and announce the cake cutting.

When it is time for your wedding breakfast, he can pipe you into the dining room and lead you through your applauding guests to your seats at the top table.

Once you are seated, Glyn makes the traditional Piper’s Toast a memorable part of the occasion. He explains the tradition to you and your guests before reciting a Scottish verse and raising a quaich to toast you both. He then pipes himself out of the dining room, bringing his part in your celebrations to a fitting close.

Wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast — from £300

Piping for both parts of your wedding day, with attendance for up to five hours.

Both packages include:

• Piper’s No.1 Full Highland Dress.

• Highland Pipes and the option of Scottish Small Pipes.

• Availability for photographs.

Playing times and arrangements are agreed with you before your wedding. Travel charges may apply for venues farther from Edinburgh.

Glyn wears the ceremonial Piper’s No.1 Full Highland Dress as standard at weddings, at no extra charge. His carefully assembled uniform combines exceptionally fine traditional, military and custom-made items, from the feather bonnet to the horsehair sporran. He takes as much pride in looking the part as he does in the quality of his piping.
