Founded by David Rickard, a club and festival DJ for 20 years and specialist events DJ for 10 years, PROPER Events offers a stylish and bespoke service for those looking for something beyond the norm. As well as playing your choice of great music, our expertise goes way beyond; we know how to host the day, and we know how to rock the evening. Whether it’s an elegant wedding ceremony or a high-energy party, we understand the ebb and flow of a celebration. We offer a range of inspiring setups, including Botanical, All White, Vintage, and Festival, and we also offer customised lighting and visuals to elevate the aesthetics of your event.
In addition to our wedding and party services, PROPER Events offers the bespoke services of a Vintage Wedding DJ, and we have our own audio-visual show called the Complete History of Dance available for venues to commission.
PROPER Events are based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, and we are available to work throughout the UK and abroad for destination weddings.

On the day itself, everything was absolutely flawless. Our dramatic aisle song was timed perfectly—a moment we’ll never forget. We also loved that he offered a “no requests” option, which meant the night reflected exactly our style and preferences without any surprises. David managed to strike the perfect balance of taking his role seriously while making the entire experience so much fun.
