Gitte is a wonderful human being and a fabulous celebrant. She transformed our wedding ceremony - and the whole day, really - into the most joyous, personal, meaningful event we could ever have wished for. Everybody commented on how special the ceremony was, especially the handfasting.
Gitte took lots of time getting to know us before the big day, and managed to weave our complicated life journeys towards one another into a shape that made sense to the crowd. The whole experience was really grounding and reaffirming. She has a beautiful warm energy and a gentle humour that immediately put us, and all of our guests, at ease.
I recommend Gitte to anyone looking for a meaningful, personal wedding ceremony. She will work with you to help you figure out what kind of event you want, and then she will be by your side coming up with new ideas/perspectives, affirming your own ideas, gently guiding and reassuring you, and generally making the whole experience much more fun and less stressful, all the way to the big day. Aaah, we couldn’t praise Gitte highly enough! She’s a warm and wonderful person - the best starting point. She’s also a brilliant, sensitive celebrant.

With Gitte we got a ceremony that reflected us rather than follow convention for the sake of it. Gitte guided us by suggesting different elements that we would never have thought of ourselves, and gave us space to choose and adapt. We went for a “ring warming”, an inclusive ritual infused with the love of all our friends and family present. Ask Gitte if you’re intrigued!

The story Gitte told of us as a couple was joyous but not sentimental, with just the right amount of humour and drama. It was properly entertaining, and very “us”! Although we worked with Gitte on the script there were some lovely surprise elements. The whole ceremony was well structured, so we always felt in safe hands, but at the same time was relaxed and celebratory.

A family member commented that “usually at weddings you’re waiting for the service to end before the fun part begins, but with your wedding the service was part of the fun too.” High praise!
