Southwell Cakery are award winning wedding cake makers based in Nottinghamshire. Supplying beautiful cakes, cookies, macarons, cupcakes, and brownies across the East Midlands and beyond. Highly experienced and talented in-house designer will listen to your ideas of style, theme, presentation and flavours. They will convert your dreams into what will sure be the centrepiece of your wedding evening.
Managed by Ruth Harmer, Southwell Cakery are a preferred supplier to a number of wedding venues, and are recognised consistantly year after year with many industy awards.
Products offered
They are delighted to welcome you by appointment to their Southwell studio where you can sample what they have to offer. Consultations are held either in person (Outside of wedding season), or via a Zoom call. Cake sample boxes are available to collect or can be shipped to UK adresses.

Delicious and exceptional service!
Ruth recently did our wedding cake and it was absolutely beautiful! It was exactly what we had visioned and throughout the whole process Ruth carefully listened to what we were looking for to create the cake we dreamed of!
Ruth took the time to talk with us to plan our flavours and what we’d like authentically and then she created the perfect 3 tier cake for us which was absolutely delicious. Our guests loved the cake and have been eating in ever since!
On the day of the wedding I didn’t even see Ruth. She snook in and delivered the cake and even completed all the decorations with our fresh flowers. She was so attentive and professional and made sure everything was perfect for our day.
Thank you for making our memorable cake Ruth. It was just what we had hoped for.

Gorgeous cake
We hired southwell cakery for our wedding last month and it was everything we asked for. We had a three tiered sage green/marbled cake which fitted our theme and vision perfectly. With three different flavoured layers, they do so many amazing flavours that it was difficult to choose. Ruth was so helpful and easy to deal with, we wouldn't have chosen anyone else. Thankyou

Faultless service and an incredible cake
Ruth made me a small wedding cake to top a stack of donuts my son’s wedding last Sunday. It was beautiful and extremely delicious! She was so helpful with tips and advice on storage before the wedding and also transportation. I would highly recommend her to anyone and will certainly call on her services again

Exceptional

Absolutely amazing!
Ruth made the cake for our wedding and it was perfect. We tried samples before which was delicious, the best cake I've ever tasted! Ruth is extremely talented, friendly and so helpful and I highly recommend her!

Mmmm jolly tasty cake!
From the tasting and discussing ideas stage, to refining our order and producing the cake itself, Ruth was a joy to deal with. We’ve had so many compliments about how the cake looked and tasted - the only tricky thing is trying to decide which tier was our favourite flavour as they were all super yummy!

Just perfect!!
Ruth was absolutely amazing!! We had a 4 tier cake with three different flavours and each of them were amazing!! Our guests absolutely loved the cake. The service provided was exceptional. We had very little idea about how we wanted our cake to look but sent over some bits that matched our wedding theme and left in the hands of Southwell Cakery - the final result was stunning!!

Perfect cake for the perfect day
We had to rearrange our wedding due to Covid and Ruth was extremely accommodating.

Scrumptious and effortless
Ruth made the cake and cookie favours for our wedding. We had a hard decision of which 3 flavours for the cake as all the samples that we tried were delicious. The cakes Ruth creates are a work of art and taste amazing. The cookies were incredible too and all our guests loved them. The communication throughout was brilliant, any queries we had were responded to quickly and it was a joy to work with Ruth.
