Might as well have been her wedding
Despite a follow-up meeting, Jill still didn't express any concerns about our cake design. A few days before the wedding, she confirmed the drop-off time but never sent a photograph of the completed cake, as we requested.
We first saw our cake on our wedding day and were extremely disappointed. The rose gold detailing on the marbling was entirely missing, and Jill failed to inform us of this change. When we emailed her after the wedding to share our disappointment, Jill claimed that "marbling is a technique that you never quite know what you are going to get" and that she decided not to do the rose gold. She also said she was "pleased with the overall finished result," which was dismissive of our concerns.
We pointed out that Jill never mentioned any reservations about the marbling technique and that it should have been our decision regarding the rose gold. Her response was that "Unfortunately when you mix the colors for the marbling, you don’t know how it is going to turn out," which again missed the point of our dissatisfaction.
We sent another email explaining that had she shared her reservations from the beginning, we could have considered another design. We emphasized that we didn't receive the design we paid for or wanted, and it was a shock to discover this on our wedding day when nothing could be done. Jill never replied to this email.
While the overall taste of the cake was nice, the cherry bakewell tier tasted like vanilla, which was disappointing as it wasn't the case when we tried the tester.
Overall, our experience with Just Yours was unsatisfactory, and we cannot recommend their services for such an important occasion.
