I had a reasonably positive first appointment trying dresses on here from the sample sale. The staff pulled out dresses in styles I liked and initially the experience felt helpful. However, looking back, I left feeling disappointed overall.
One issue was the dress fabric. I chose a dress which, only later, I realised is extremely unforgiving and shows creasing very easily. Even after multiple steams it still appears crinkled. I appreciate that fabric preference is subjective and ultimately the choice was mine, but as bridal staff work with these dresses every day, I do feel this characteristic could have been pointed out during the appointment. I was deciding between two dresses and that information may genuinely have influenced my decision.
My second concern was sizing. The sample dress I purchased appeared to be significantly larger than the usual recommended alteration range. When I later queried this, I was told the size had been recorded incorrectly and was actually smaller than first stated, which left me feeling uncertain and less confident in the process. The size label and designer tag was also later removed from the dress which I don't understand so I can't check for myself 🤔.
I also felt disappointed at the final fitting stage. The seamstress suggested one final try-on before collection and to make it easier for me arranged it for the same day as I'm not local. Unfortunately she had to cancel this the night before and I was told Angie the sales assistant would do my fitting instead. This really didn't sit well with me and I tried to arrange a different day so it was with the seamstress but it wasn't possible. Wedding dress shopping is emotional and high-pressure, and this added unnecessary stress at an already anxious time.
Overall, I feel that more transparency, buying guidance and flexibility would have made a big difference to my experience. I wouldn't recommend this shop to other brides to be, there's better places out there ladies.

I bought my wedding dress from this shop because they had a fantastic selection of dresses to try on, despite being almost 2.5 hours away from home. I paid a deposit and returned a few weeks later to be measured so my dress could be ordered.
As I became pregnant during the process, I arranged for alterations to be carried out closer to home to avoid the long journey back and forth. When I was informed that my dress was ready for collection, I specifically asked the shop to ensure it had been checked thoroughly and steamed before I travelled, as I was already eight months pregnant. I was assured that the dress had been inspected and was perfect.
When I arrived and tried the dress on, it was immediately clear that it was faulty and had not been steamed. The fabric at the back did not properly cover the zip, and the entire area looked uneven and wonky. The sales assistant contacted the manager, who asked who had noticed the issue. After being told that my mum had pointed it out, they agreed to send the dress back to the designer as a matter of urgency and advised it would be returned within a few weeks.
A few weeks later, I was contacted again and told that the dress was ready to collect. Before making the long journey, I asked whether the dress had definitely been repaired and steamed, and I was assured that everything had been done.
By this point I was heavily pregnant, but I made the journey again. Unfortunately, when I tried the dress on, the exact same issues remained. The zip was still visible, the fabric was still uneven, and it still failed to cover the zip correctly. Staff attempted to suggest that the problem was due to my pregnancy, despite the dress being two sizes too large and literally falling down unless I held it up. I was told the dress had received a good steam and that it looked better than before.
I honestly do not believe the dress was ever sent back to the designer. It appeared to me that it had simply been steamed and returned in the hope that I would accept it.

At that stage, exhausted and heavily pregnant, I just wanted to go home, so I accepted the dress. When I paid the remaining balance and was asked to sign the collection form, I made it clear to the manager that I was not fully happy with the dress. My concerns were not acknowledged, and instead I felt they were dismissed with friendliness rather than addressed properly.
Since bringing the dress home, my dressmaker has confirmed that the dress is faulty and that the fabric was not cut correctly or evenly.


Despite having to make repeated long-distance trips, spending money on fuel, and travelling while heavily pregnant because the dress issues had not been resolved, there was no gesture of goodwill offered. No compensation was provided for the wasted journeys, and there was little acknowledgment of the inconvenience, stress.

I couldn’t be more happy with how I was treated, I walked in without knowing what I wanted or was looking for and everything was explained from neck lines and prices and what could be removed from dresses and what could be added.

From the day I purchased my dress to my alterations everyone was amazing!

The dress looks beautiful and fitted amazingly everything was always checked and double checked before anything happened.

The ladies here were so lovely and really helped me. I was on a bit of a budget so selected to try from their sale room. They had such a great choice and they were so patient with me, allowing me to try all the different dress styles to help me choose. I ended up buying the very first dress I tried on! They stored it for me at the shop the whole time and arranged my alterations in the time frame they had advised initially. Everything went like clockwork! Dream dress from some wonderful ladies!

Isn’t one of the best parts of wedding planning wedding dress trying? Yes, that’s what I thought too until I bought my wedding dress from here and it turned into nothing but a nightmare.
I had tried different dresses on at other shops, and I still hadn’t found ‘the one’. I came across the award winning Wedding Belles and decided to book an appointment here. I took my mum with me for this special occasion and Val was our assistant, after taking and trying a mix of ‘sample’ dresses and new dresses, I spotted a wedding dress that was beautiful, it caught my eye and I tried it on, I finally got that feeling straight away and I knew it was my dress.
Now the wedding dress I tried was a sample dress meaning a new one wouldn’t be ordered and on my wedding day I’d be wearing that dress, but upon inspecting the dress with a fine tooth comb it was practically perfect. The dress required a new zip, but Val assured me that in plenty of time for my dress fittings the zip would be fixed. Meaning my dress would be perfect!
Dress purchased in February 2024 for my September 2025 wedding.
Left my wedding dress to be cared for by Wedding Belles as they promise and around July 2025 I’d commence my fittings.
August 2025 I was super excited, I was about to try my wedding dress on ahead of my wedding in 6 weeks time and I was over a stone lighter in weight who wouldn’t be excited…
Arrived at the shop, where they were expecting me. I was sat down and told to wait for a minute. Several minutes passed and then came the look of panic- I was asked numerous times ‘when is your wedding again’ ’what number dress fitting is this’ ‘we can’t find your dress’.
The seamstress, Hannah, who is there for alterations- I’d like to say quite clearly CANNOT BE FAULTED, and she tried to find my wedding dress. It turns out my dress had gone for the zip repair, and not been returned yet?? Not sure why Wedding Belles didn’t realise a Brides wedding dress wasn’t in the shop when they look after them ever so well, but without apology was told nothing could be done on that day I’d have to come back.
I booked with Hannah for 3 weeks later (work and family commitments) but was reassured that all would be well.
I returned for my fitting (finally) and waiting for me was what can only be described as a bag of rags. That can’t be my dress? Only it was, and I was told to step into it so we could start the alterations. I felt sick to my stomach, the dress I was wearing was filthy, stained, marked, disgusting. Even Hannah commented how surprised she was someone bought this dress!!
Angie (another assistant) came to see how it was going, when informed of the state of the dress Angie totally dismissed all that we were saying and even stuck her hand in my mum’s face before marching out of the room.
I was told I had ‘bought the dress like that’. I absolutely hadn’t, and I have the photographs from the day in February 2024 when I first tried it on. It was like a different dress.
Hannah brought into the room a dress similar to my chosen dress but had some differences and said I could try it on and see how I felt- I had 3 weeks until my wedding!
Hannah made my fitting work out, she found me a dress I could wear on my wedding day, and she made sure every alteration was done with plenty of time to spare.
Customer service from Wedding Belles… none existent.
When I went for my final fitting- I’d been palmed off with a veil that wasn’t even mine, could we find my veil?? Eventually Hannah saved the day again when she did find my veil, screwed up in a ball so tight and shoved in a tiny box. But at this point I finally had a dress and veil and I just needed to make it through one more visit to this shop.
On the day I collected my dress, I felt physically sick, my dress was hung, didn’t look like an awful lot of effort had gone into steaming it or spot cleaning it, Val tried to help, but when another customer walked in the shop she couldn’t get rid of us quick enough. Thankfully my mum was able to make sure my dress and veil were perfect.
This may be a long read, but I want to make sure nobody suffers the same stressful, shocking, awful experience that I have. I’m 3 weeks past my wedding day now, I had a dress and my day was magical, but I haven’t had a single apology from Wedding Belles, nobody has reached out to see how I am and explain why my original dress was in such a sorry state. I don’t want another bride to go through what I did at Wedding Belles- save yourselves the stress and worry. My wedding dress buying experience was ruined by this apparently award winning boutique, do not let yours be ruined too!!!

As most brides-to-be are aware, the amount of times you search ‘wedding dress’ on your phone facebook just begins to suggest wedding dress shops to you up and down the UK! Wedding Belles popped up on my best friends Mums facebook, and was roughly an hours drive away. We decided we may aswell just book an app and drive down, with nothing to lose after exhausting all our local boutiques.
We arrived at 11am and met with Angie, who from the second we walked in the shop was attentive and put the wedding party at ease. Sometimes you can feel like you’re being watched by staff, and cant just freely have a feel for the dresses, but Angie was too busy pulling together her own selection to recommend based on my Brides specifics. Once we had selected about 5/6 initial dresses, she settles us in a different room with a glass of fizz and our bride began trying on different dresses. There was such an ease and honesty about Angie’s professional opinion —no fake ‘That looks amazing on you’ when she may of in fact looked like a sausage skinned up! There was no rushing,and I think in the end the bride tried on probably around 10-12 dresses, with 2 absolute top contenders, both reasonably priced, and during october had 10% discount! Once my friend had picked ‘The One’, it was a seamless experience regarding pricing and explaining T’s&C’s, with Angie explaining the next steps and timeline for the dress. Would recommend to future brides, the shop is very easy to find just off the motorway, set in a beautiful old ex police station.

Thanks to all the girls at Wedding Belles for their support and dedication at making me feel at ease from day 1 of walking into the boutique, making an anxious older bride feel like a bride. You magiced my dress out of thin air when I was ready to give up and everyone commented on it, I loved it and would still pick the same again now x
