I would not recommend to customers looking for a wedding dress.

The experience was not what I hoped it would be for such a premium-priced dress. My second trial was pushed twice because Emma's team was struggling with the amount of workload and sickness, I empathised with the first time as she’s had a lot of postponements from 2020, including mine. In her emails, Emma said that because they had a lot of dress collections in those particular weeks (August/September), they needed more time to complete my alterations. After postponing the second trial for the second time I expressed my concern given both second and final trial would be only 4 days apart. Emma reassured me the dress would be completed by the final and third trial (2 weeks before my wedding) but it wasn’t. Some key aspects of the dress including the veil were not done like she said they would be so there was no way for me to see it all finished nor try the full outfit. I had to be the one to request to go a fourth time (5 days! before my wedding) otherwise I would have picked up an ill-fitting dress. On the fourth trial, the veil was made but with a thick trim rather than a thin one like I had requested several times previously. The overlay still needed adjusting as the waist was too big.

On collection day, while trying the dress on for the last time Emma said it was finally the end of the wedding season so they weren’t too busy (?). Why did you put me through all that then if you weren’t too busy? When I arrived at the wedding venue I hung the dress straight away so no more creases were created. The overlay had two reddish spots at the back towards the top left (pictured). As well as blue pen marks(!) inside the bodice where marks were done for alteration purposes. The dress should have been inspected fully by her team to make sure it was fully clean and had no marks of any kind, no matter how small.

Overall the amount of stress and angst created (still nearly a year on) was uncalled for. It’s not your customer’s business whether members of your team are ill, and pushing this narrative to make them feel bad for complaining or demanding the service promised is unprofessional. Covid shouldn’t be used as a scapegoat for below-average service.

I would not recommend EVP to customers looking for a wedding dress.
