Gail Gardner is a multi award winning professional Hair and Makeup Artist based in Writtle, Chelmsford and has been working in the wedding industry for over 20 years. She is very proud to have won Bridal Hairstylist of the Year three times.
Gail carries out one wedding per day so you won’t find her rushing off anywhere. She will stay with you right up until you leave to get married and she will be there to help you into your wedding dress should you need any assistance.
Gail has a very calm and relaxed nature. She is friendly and approachable so you can ask her any questions or concerns you may have with your hair and/or makeup.

How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as you can, I take bookings up to two years in advance and I do get booked up very early. I am still taking bookings for this year and 2025. My diary for 2026 will be opening soon
Do you work at homes?
Yes
What is the charge for travelling?
Depending on where your wedding venue is. If you are based locally in Chelmsford, there is no travel charge
What is your main business area?

Could you stay with the bride until the photo shoot?
Yes
How many people can you beautify for one wedding?
I can cater for everyone in your bridal party. If you have a large bridal party, for a small charge, I will have an Assistant in attendance to ensure everyone is ready in time
Can you provide your beauty services for pre-wedding and post-wedding photography?

Perfect hair and make up
Thank you so much Gail for doing my hair and make up, my flower girl and Mums hair. You did such an amazing job, everyone complimented us all night.
You are so organised and it was a breeze having you there. You made my Morning so smooth and honestly I can’t thank you enough.
Even my Mum who is the most fussiest person was so happy with her hair she loved it. My Flower girl was obsessed with her hair she wouldn’t let me change it the next day. Thank you again.

Gail is an amazing woman. She was very professional at both my trial and wedding. She's very warm and welcoming and so accommodating. We were so supported by her and encouraged. She gave great advise and offered great suggestions. I truly recommend her you are in such safe hands

Amazing hair and makeup for my wedding day
Gail did my bridal hair and makeup at my wedding and my made of honour’s hair. Gail also had a lovely assistant who did the hair for the rest of my bridal party.
I was so happy with my hair and makeup on the day and felt absolutely amazing. Gail has an eye for detail which was great and we had a really good trial and then finally re-creating the image on my wedding day.
Every body commented on my hair style and makeup on the wedding and how wonderful it all looked - I felt a million dollars and would happily recommend Gail and Victoria for your special day.

Loved My Bridal Hair!!
Gail did my hair for my wedding and it was PERFECT! My hair looked absolutely STUNNING and was exactly how I wanted. It lasted all day and night which is amazing as I have a lot of hair!! She is very calm and made me feel at ease all morning! Can’t express how much I LOVED my hair. Thank you so much Gail xx

The best and kept wedding party so calm
Hair for every bridesmaid was perfect and make was perfect.
They all looked so stunning and beautiful,
My mums hair and make up was amazing and classy.
The brides was just perfect . Keeping my calm on the day and even helping me into my dress. Her work is perfect . Her time keeping was amazing and could not recommend enough.

So good I did it twice!
From the first moment Gail was warm and so friendly. She actually listened to all of my concerns , wishes and wants and was able to put me at ease very quickly. I was so worried that being an 'older' bride I would end up looking not age appropriate and it was definitely worth having a trial to iron out any issues (I had none!)
On the actual wedding day, it was like having a friend over, she was just lovely. Everyone commented on my hair and make up, so when we had a post wedding party a few weeks later for all those who couldn't attend the big day, I asked Gail to step up again.... Amazing!
I would have absolutely no hesitation in using her services again...and Ive also gained a new friend!
