Frequently Asked Questions:
How does the booking process work?
At the time of enquiry I'll provide you with a total package price. To secure the wedding day bridal hair services all that's required is a £50 non refundable deposit. Once received I will email you a detailed invoice which will have future payment dates, estimated timings and addresses for me to provide services at. 1 week before the trial date I require a pre trial payment (usually £50)4 weeks before the wedding date the remaining balance is due.Minimum booking fee of £300. Bank holidays re subject to a £50 surcharge.
How long does the trial last?
Included in your trial is a consultation in which we’ll talk through a number of requirements, hair types for you and your bridal party as well as any hair accessories /veil that you wish to use, I will then discuss with you the style that you have chosen or would like to try. If your torn between 2 different looks then we can try both. Some brides already have an idea of styles they’d like to try, some bring along their wedding dress or a photo of the dress so we can match the hair with the wedding theme. The process can take between 2-3 hours. Detailed notes are taken as well as photo’s so I can replicate the same style on your wedding day. I’ll also take into account timings of your make-up and photographer to ensure everything is timed perfectly.
How long does it take to do all the bridal party hair?
On average it takes 30 minutes per bridesmaid, 20-30 minutes for a blow-dry & 15 minutes per flowergirl. I allow at least an hour for the brides hair ,this is dependant on style and prep required, sometimes it is done in 2 parts with make up mid way through. In most instances the veil is placed into the hair after the dress has been put on. The bride is usually completed second from last in order to preserve the style but this is all dependant on the required style etc. I work to your preference and alongside the make up artist in order to have a well running system on the day. Stress free and relaxing is the aim, which is why I allow lots of spare time on the morning. All times will be confirmed at the end of your trial.
Do you charge extra for mileage?
Travel charges may be added onto your total balance dependant on location required for hair services, these will be added onto the package price at time of enquiry if relevant. Mileage is charged at 0.60p per mile from ST16 area as a return journey.
I have fine hair, Do I need hair extensions?
The answer to this is maybe. You would be surprised at the amount of volume I can achieve by using texturising sprays, curling and styling sprays. Even the finest hair can have fantastic volume using the correct products. If clip in extensions are required this will be discussed at your trial and I will help you to source these. It often is the case that they are not needed so please feel free to ask if it is a concern. I would also say that having clip in extensions can sometimes affect the effectiveness of a style and occasionally restricts what styles you can have, but this is rare. They are great to have if you need lots of bulk or more length and can be interweaved into a hairstyle to blend perfectly into the hair.
Where are trials done and can you visit my home for the trial?
Trials are done on a weekday (Mon-Thurs) at my home in Stafford , if you require a trials at your home this is also possible. I cover a vast area and am happy to visit you at any address of your choosing for your trial. If necessary I can visit a hotel if you are travelling up for your trial. This is subject to additional mileage costs and subject to availability. Weekend trials will incur a £75 surcharge and are subject to availability.
How do I prepare my hair for the trial/wedding day?
I usually recommend the following hair prep for your trial:Thoroughly wash and condition your hair, ensuring that roots are completely free of residual shampoo/conditioner and completely rinsed out. Allow to dry either naturally or by a dryer. Ensure that hair is completely dry. Avoid the use of styling products and straighteners . This is the best way to keep as much of that natural volume as possible. The wedding day hair prep will usually be the same, unless otherwise advised at your trial. This is the same for all the bridesmaids.
How soon should I secure my booking?
As soon as possible. Dont delay. As I only take 1 booking per day, once the date has been booked then it is no longer available. I receive a large volume of enquiries and so I can only reserve your date for 24 hours from the initial time of enquiry. I book years in advance so to avoid disappointment please book straight away. You can decide on your styling nearer the time but it is vital to get your service providers booked in as early as possible.
Can I add extras onto my booking?
Yes, anytime before 4 weeks before the wedding you can add on guest styling, mums, nans or any other people who would like to have their hair done.
What days do we have the hair trial?
Trials are done on a weekday (Mon- Thurs), if a weekend (Fri-Sun)or bank holiday trial is required there is a £75 surcharge added to the booking, these are also subject to availability. All trials are ideally booked for 6-8 weeks before the wedding date but you can have an earlier appt is you prefer.
Do you offer trials for Bridesmaids/mums?
Yes, You are welcome to add on trials for any other members of the bridal party, there is an additional cost of £45 per maid/ £40 per mum. You can add these on at any point before the trial is booked .
