Robbie Williams’ Wife Ayda Field Shuns Wedding Etiquette and Wears White To Royal Wedding

Robbie Williams' wife, Ayda Field, has broken the number one rule of wedding guest etiquette by arriving at Princess Eugenie's wedding wearing an off-white dress and jacket.

The X Factor judge has shared a photograph with her Instagram followers, posing next to her musician husband before heading to the star studded nuptials in Windsor.

The pair are both dressed in Giorgio Armani, and Ayda’s outfit is finished with a stunning Philip Treacy hat.

As beautiful as she looks, Ayda’s royal wedding get-up is an off-white shade, which goes against wedding etiquette and definitely royal wedding etiquette.

The star’s Instagram followers have been quick to notice her slip-up, with many commenting on the post to share their disapproval of her choice.

“As if she’s wearing that colour to someone else’s wedding” one remarked, while another added “Both of you look stunning, but it’s a BIG no no to wear white to a wedding unless you’re the bride!! Come on, you’ve had your day”.

Sarah Allard, editor of hitched.co.uk, agrees: “Wearing white or any shade of white to a wedding is commonly considered a huge no-no – even more so for a royal wedding.

“Ayda Field’s decision to wear an off-white dress and jacket to accompany husband Robbie Williams to the wedding might raise a few eyebrows from the royal family within the ceremony and from the other guests in attendance.”

There’s a strict dress code for guests attending a royal wedding, with attendees expected to dress the part and look smart on the day. Women are expected to wear a hat or fascinator, while the men are required to wear morning coats – a formal style jacket with knee-length tails.
