Nestled at the top of Streatham Common, The Streatham Rookery is a stunning heritage garden featuring lawns, paved gardens, lush planting, a cascade and woodlands. This quiet oasis of peace and floral blooms is truly one of South London’s hidden gems.

We have been hosting weddings for a number of years and if you are looking for a beautiful, nature filled and unexpected venue then the Rookery is for you.

Wedding Ceremonies

We are not licensed for legal weddings, but do host personalised ceremonies for our guests.

Wedding Capacity

We have several areas in the gardens available for hire:

The Old English Garden - paved and planted gardens with a capacity for 100-120 people

The White Garden - a smaller paved area for more intimate weddings - capacity for 50-75 people

The Orchard - a large open Orchard, with fruit trees and laid with grass offering a more relaxed and festival vibe - capacity for 125+

Costs

The hire cost of each area is £1000 + VAT - which covers you for a 4 hour window, a member of staff and use of our toilets and facilities.

Things to note

The gardens are fully outdoors and wet weather planning needs to be considered. Guests have sometimes used small gazebos and umbrellas for guests. We have never had a wedding rained off!

All equipment (chairs, tables) and decorations need to be bought in. We do have great local contacts for flowers, furniture hire, drinks and food.

The site is fully accessible with step free access and free parking in and around the gardens.

Reception Options

Receptions can be held within the gardens - but would require further agreement on timings and hire costs over and above the initial 4 hours.
