Amazing venue for a romantic wedding!
Venue Service

By A very happy Grandmother, on 24 May 2018Date of Wedding - 04 May 2018

What an amazing venue for a romantic wedding. My Granddaughters perfect day was magic. Staff at the wedding breakfast especially surpassed expectations. The seamless organisation from the pavilion ceremony to the reception was perfect. Staff were so friendly and helpful, they went the extra mile to provide honey and lemon drinks to my Granddaughter when she lost her voice on her wedding eve.

We got married at the Kings Arms Hotel last Saturday and would recommend this venue! We got married in the pavilion on the bowling green and had the wedding breakfast in the upper priory and the reception in the lower priory. -beautiful location, lovely ruins for photos - you can decorate the venue to suit your taste and some of the wedding packages provided include decorations such as fairy lights, bunting, table decorations - the wedding packages are great value and there are many to suit different budgets - the food was amazing and they cater to all different dietary requirements - the table service is excellent and they ensure everyone on the table gets their food at the same time - the staff are professional, friendly, calm and attentive - the bridal suite is large (which is great if the bride and her bridal party want to get ready at the hotel) however i did find it annoying that there was no hook for my dress - the honeymoon suite is the same as the bridal suite and is nice and big and overlooks the bowling green - the wedding coordinator sarah was lovely and answered all my emails promptly and was flexible with the runnings of the day - the banqueting team (kinga, suazez, zack and many others) were all professional, attentive, friendly and welcoming. Thanks again for a lovely day! All our guests commented on how beautiful the venue looked, how lovely the food was and well looked after they were

October Wedding at The Kings!
Venue Service

By Daryl, on 24 May 2018Date of Wedding - 21 Oct 2017

My new wife and I got married in the Kings Arms at the end of October 2017. The ceremony was in the pavilion next to the bowling green, in between the old castle and the ruins which was kitted out with fairy lights and looked absolutely spectacular. The wedding breakfast was upstairs in the priory and the food was incredible. The staff were on hand to make any tweaks throughout the day, they did everything they could to make our day special and even the waiters and waitresses were synchronised when handing out are meals. My wife stayed at the venue the night before and the Kings team setup her room so that her bridesmaids could all spend the night before the wedding with her. The wedding planner was brilliant, the venue staff all worked incredibly well with the flower company, the entertainment staff and the photographer. Our room on the night of the wedding was luxurious and the team setup a separate room for us in the morning for breakfast where 30 or so guests and non-guests could all eat together. The day could not have gone any better, thank you Kings Arms!!!

What an amazing day we had!!! As a same-sex couple we were never made to feel awkward as every member of staff, from the maintenance man to the general manager, were so kind and professional. Thank you Gemma for your care and advice. Thank you Sophie for dealing with my 'diva' moments and thank you Nicholas for your support, advice and the running of our day. A special thanks to the waiting staff who delivered all the meals in a timely and professional manner and also to the kitchen team for beautiful food. All our guests commented on the standard of service and food. It will be 2 days we shall never forget and you all made it magical in such a stunning location. Clearing up the morning after, I bumped into a prospective wedding couple and my words were " you must choose this hotel - it is amazing - we have had the best time ever and been so well looked after" I believe they made a provisional booking. Good luck to them and good luck to all involved with the Kings and thank you for everything.

We want to thank yourself, Gemma and Sarah in the lead up to the big day by helping with all the planning. You were all very efficient at answering any queries we had, so thank you. It made planning a wedding stress free!! We'd also like to thank Nicholas and Gemma for their help and support on the smooth running of the big day itself. Gemma and Nicholas were very good at keeping everyone calm before the ceremony as well as being very attentive throughout the day, ensuring everything to the smallest detail was just right. Thank you Gemma for keeping the boy's in check and sorting out their button holes!! We could not find any fault in how the day went and even our guests keep commenting on how fantastic everyone at the Kings Arms was on Saturday, and how seamless the day was. A special mention goes to Tim who served us directly during the wedding breakfast. He was amazing, even when serving us our breakfast the next day. We were impressed, along with our guests, by how slick the service was, with everyone's plates placed on the table at the same time and every one receiving the correct dietary requirements etc. We really believe that you couldn't receive this level of service or better anywhere else, and the King Arms exceeded our expectations in every way. My Parent's were very impressed with how everything went. Nicholas was brilliant with my Dad when he popped over to the venue in the morning first thing. Again a massive thank you to you and your team!! Simon and Joelle Lock xxx

Perfect Wedding Venue!
Venue Service

By Lauren, on 05 Aug 2015

I got married at the Kings Arms in July and can not fault the venue, the staff, the food or the hotel. Everything was managed beautifully and somehow the team kept me calm and reassured from the moment I arrived. The surrounding area is full of picture postcard scenery and everyone adored the pavillion and the green that was perfect for the children to let of some steam before our wedding breakfast. Would highly recommend!

Lovely wedding venue
Venue Service

By Carolyn Furber, on 08 Oct 2014

Our daughter and son-in-law held their wedding at the King's Arms in April. The wedding could not have gone more smoothly: the ceremony took place in the pavilion, which was very pretty and romantic. The food and service were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The venue was fabulous, too. Everyone enjoyed themselves. It rained at the time of the wedding ceremony and a member of staff walked the bride and her father over the road to the pavilion with a large umbrella, which was a lovely touch and shows that no detail was overlooked. Thoroughly recommended. We stayed in a King Room for the night and it was one of the best rooms we have stayed in. Breakfast was great. Thanks again for making the day so memorable

Perfect setting
Venue Service

By Leanne and Andy, on 28 Jul 2014

A fantastic venue with a picturesque setting, equals great photo opportunities. Bright and airy rooms, delicious food and a good selection of wines. Special thanks to Seb for giving us a great wine tasting session and helping us choose the right wine to match our menu. Karen was wonderfully patient during the accommodation bookings (and various room changes). Gemma gave great attention to detail in helping us plan every aspect of the day, even staying late to finish our meeting and working tirelessly to resolve any changes we wanted. John and Chris showed great flexibility on the day - we didn't hear the words 'no' or can't.' Nothing was too much trouble, which made for a relaxed atmosphere from our point of view. Every single member of staff, without exception, looked after us and collectively made us feel confident that things would run smoothly (which they of course did). All of our guests were equally impressed with both the venue and excellent service from all staff. It has been a year of many weddings amongst friends, but ours stands out thanks to the efforts of the Kings team. If you pay a visit, the venue will speak for itself.

Perfect Wedding Day
Venue Service

By Simon & Sarah Matthews-O'Toole, on 12 May 2014

Thanks to the hard work of Cyan & Lukasz and the reassuring presence of John, we had the perfect wedding day at The King's. The ceremony in the Pavillion was beautiful, with spring flowers and bunting from Maria that co-ordinated so well with everything. The Priory Suite was so simple yet effective for a wedding, having 2 floors for guests to utilise so can either be in the mix of it or escape for a bit of peace and quiet. The afternoon casino went down well with guests and Cyan liased with everyone taking the hassle out of checking timings etc. Excellent location and we had the wedding of our dreams

Such a beautiful venue, delicious food and the most helpful staff you will ever meet. The guys at the Kings made sure our day ran as smoothly as possible and went far beyond all expectations we had! Last minute guests, table plan changes & all kinds of requests all taken in their stride. All our guests were very complimentary of the food & staff. I honestly cannot put into words how grateful I am for everything the team did for us. Gemma & Chris were particularly amazing, I can't thank them enough. We really had a beautiful day.

A dream
Venue Service

By Andy & Nigel, on 25 Apr 2014

The Kings is a superb venue for a wedding, such as we held for our daughter and son-in-law. The Pavilion and the lawn made a great setting for the ceremony and drinks reception and the Priory is a flexible space for the dinner and party that followed. The events manager, Gemma, who coordinated the day with scrupulous attention to detail and was with us all the way through, the care shown by chef Ian and his team in the kitchen dealing with our very particular requirements and the smooth operators in the front of house led by John during the day all gave real personal attention to us and all our guests. Lukasz, the hotel’s general manager, displayed good humour throughout, even taking on the task of ensuring the weather was kind! This is a good place to have a great party – it’s hard to praise it too much.

Beautiful hotel and great central location
Venue Service

By Emma Trundle, on 02 May 2011

We were the first couple to have our wedding reception at the hotel's priory suite. The self contained suite is decorated neutrally and to a high standard and the service at the hotel was excellent. The food was perfect, and the hotel accomodation has a lovely boutique feel. The hotel is in arguably the best part of Christchurch with viewd of the Priory Church and the Constable House ruins and the river. We had around 90 guests and it was a little snug so it would probably better suite a wedding of around 85 guests. The priory suite is split into two levels and largely seperate from the main hotel. The benefit of this is that you have the two levels for the wedding party alone without interuption from other hotel guests. We would certainly recommend the Kings Hotel to other couples.
