Just perfect
One of the things we loved most was the freedom to plan the wedding entirely our way and create something truly unique and personal. Our guests loved being able to stay on-site in hired teepees, which created such a fun festival atmosphere, and the wild swimming was a fantastic extra that we and many of our guests enjoyed.
There was plenty of space for everyone to relax and celebrate, and we were able to have both live music and a DJ, making the day and evening exactly as we had imagined. We hired lawn games which gave for some great photos. Everything came together perfectly, and the venue helped create an unforgettable experience for us and our guests. Special thanks to Cheryl, Bill and Andrew for making our day unforgettable and giving memories we will treasure forever.
It truly was the most perfect day, and we would wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful, flexible, and unique countryside wedding setting.

Magical wedding venue
Fabulous DIY rustic barn venue
Since booking, Cheryl has been kind, patient, and all too accommodating for us. She answered every email promptly (and at points I was sending multiple emails per week!) And she made sure we were happy with all the arrangements prior to the big day. She happily let us bring our labrador to the venue and the wedding which was so wonderful for us. The cabins were a perfect retreat after the crazy fun night we had and we really appreciated having our own space away from everyone else. Bill was also fabulous and brought us spare seats, pieces of wood, and hay bales all on short notice. You really could not ask for better people to help bring the venue to life.
Although I personally so not consider this a negative, I should point out that this might not be the venue for you if you want somebody else to do everything for you. The charm to The Dragons Gate is being able to make the venue your own, but it does mean putting in some elbow grease to get it all sorted. It took us 5 hours to set up on the Friday but I loved every second of it. And you need to pack everything down on the Sunday, but this was much quicker and easier. If you have family or friends to rope in it will be much easier for you.
We had such a blast and even though it rained on our day, I would not change a single thing about it. Thank you Cheryl and Bill, you made our day truly unforgettable!
Dream DIY wedding venue!
Our day was beyond perfect, and we were so lucky to be able to put our own stamp on it. We can't thank Cheryl and Bill enough. We felt so sad to be leaving after!
We will be back to stay for many an anniversary I'm sure.

The views are stunning, the barn is so cute and there is options for extending things onto grass with marquees if you so wish.
Cheryl and Bill were fantastic in their support and always easy to get hold of if we had any questions.
I would highly recommend this venue to anybody looking to put their own wedding together. You will not regret going there in the slightest!
