Sledmere Wedding
I need to just comment on how amazing Michaela is, I am sure she has 100 things going on at once but she makes you and your wedding feel like the biggest priority she has. Her responsiveness and willingness to help and support was calming, even when we moved the whole wedding for covid reasons she helped and supported way more than I expected from a DIY wedding.
Sledmere really is the venue of dreams. A country estate that give you access to the house and land for the ceremony and photos and then we chose the private barn to host our reception. We took some stunning photos with the house fountain and grounds. With the tractor and trailer allowing us to get around.
The barn had 200 on the evening and even though it rained for some part of the evening it never felt cramped and the guests still comment how amazing the whole day and evening was. it did help that the suppliers we chose were just exceptional. Nabs Nosh doing the Food during the reception. Otley burgers doing the evening food and Tonics Bar running the bar for us.
We stayed onsite at the coach house and this was also just as spectacular. the bride and her bridesmaids stayed and got ready here before the wedding and i joined her for the other 2 nights.
A Real Country Wedding for 70
We married in 2021 September.
Michaela supported us through 3 years almost of covid and movement. 2021 came an they had built the suite above the coach house which we hired for our reception and we had ceremony in the library, soon followed by the staircase with the petal drop and the gong.
It was beautiful well co ordinated, we hired the bridal house that collectively supported me an the girls getting ready and sleeping there the night before and then me an my husband slept there on the night after.. our wedding car picked me up from there after bringing my husband from the house in our nearing village.. it was just bespoke, chilled and really laid back. I chose my menu and the chefs were just absolutely fantastic at pulling this off. The guests loved it we had a buffet style during the day jacket potatos and slow cookers with types of salads and meats. And for the evening we had buffet type again so people could come and go freely, toilets were upstairs we had a bar and separate food area it was just brilliant..
We originally had the barn booked so I had all my props an everything I'd worked hard to achieve and in the end we had to reduce
and reduce while the venue had to accommodate us whilst with the restrictions. It was a perfect day and Sledmere really are like a family. We never lost our chance to marry and we remained patient with them just as they did us, we kept our booking and just pushed it back we felt safe and looked after and for that reason i can't see any other place that we would have really wanted to marry.
It was a blast thank you to Sledmere and Michaela and her team truly a day we re live daily.
