When we were choosing our venue for our special day, we knew the moment we stepped into Saltmarshe Hall that it was the place we wanted. We immediately loved the homely feel that it had, and the warm welcome from staff put us straight at ease. Thinking that the stunning grounds and beautiful house could be the backdrop for our wedding day made both of us emotional and we could not wait for our day. All of the staff went above and beyond to make sure that our day was just perfect. The unexpected beautiful weather made our day all that we could have hoped for and more! A special shoutout to Ashleigh - nothing that we asked for was too much and she answered all of our million questions quickly and supported us both through the crazy process of planning a wedding! She had thought of things we had not even considered and ensured our day ran without a hitch. We just wish we could do it all again!

We had our wedding here in December 2024. It truly is such a stunning venue, it offers the grandeur of a stately home, whilst also feeling cosy and homely. Throughout December they have many Christmas trees up around the hall, and also beautiful garlands down the stairs and across the fireplaces. The fires were on during the day which really added to that wintery cosy feeling. The staff here are also incredible, they simply cannot do enough for you. Amy was our wedding co-coordinator and she was incredible. The day ran so smoothly, and she made us feel so special. We went to Saltmarshe Hall many times in the run up to our wedding, and every time was just as beautiful and perfect as the last. We already can't wait to return.

Our experience with Saltmarshe Hall was exceptional and we credit that to the fantastic team of people that assured our day was everything we ever wanted.

Since our first tour around Saltmarshe Hall we were so impressed with the homely yet elegant feel of the house and grounds. We knew straight away that we wanted to celebrate our marriage in this setting.

Amy was so attentive and detailedorientated and really made us feel like the most important couple in the world. Her sunny demeanour and down to earth attitude put us at ease during the most stressful times.

The wedding day itself went perfectly. The food was stunning, the organisation was brilliant, and the service from staff was fantastic. We truly appreciated Ruby coming to find us when we were getting out pictures taken in the grounds with a tray of canapes! All staff went above and beyond to make sure everybody had a great time.

The bedrooms/suites were modern and individualistic and our guests were blown away by them. Guests felt comfortable in the house and couldn't be more complimentary.

Overall we had an extremely positive experience with Saltmarshe Hall and would recommend it to anyone.

From first reaching out to Saltmarshe Hall about booking a potential wedding at their stunning venue we were met with nothing but kindness and professionalism.
After looking around at one of their wedding fayre’s we knew we just couldn’t get married anywhere else. The hall its self is just beautiful, with the option of having ceremony’s outside which is an added bonus as these areas are just as gorgeous and well maintained.

On the day of the wedding I was put at ease by our coordinator Ashleigh, who is so experienced in what she does. Nothing is too much to ask, she is so lovely and just the kind of person you need in charge on your wedding day. I had my heart set on getting married outside but unfortunately the weather was not on our side, but the way the ceremony room was set up for the ceremony (and the whole day) I was no longer disheartened after seeing it.
The food was absolutely delicious, since the wedding everyone has commented on the food and said they have never had food as good at a wedding.
The selection of drinks available at the bar as well - amazing!
The rooms available for guests to stay in have also been finished to a very high standard with the price including breakfast together the following morning, again absolutely lovely.

Everything ran so smoothly, all the staff at Saltmarshe were so kind and helpful, to give context my daughter misplaced her teddy every one of them helped us find it, so nothing really is too much to ask.

Saltmarshe has had a special place in my heart from being a little girl and walking around the grounds with my Dad, so having our wedding here has just made it all that bit more special to me. I can’t thank Ashleigh and the team enough you really are all amazing at what you do and I wish I could do it all over again!!!

I’m not sure that we’ll ever be able to put into words our gratitude to Ashleigh, Amy and the entire time at Saltmarshe Hall for all that they all put into our wedding and everything leading up to it, but we will try our best...

From our first visit to Saltmarshe for a show round we know we’d found somewhere very special. Its rural, river-side setting is unmatched by any of the other venues we visited local to our respective family homes in Yorkshire and the Cotswolds, with its totally enchanting grounds and gardens, spending time there is nothing short of magical. The Hall itself has been so sympathetically and comfortably restored, we were really impressed by how the elegance of its original Georgian features is complemented by relaxed modern interior decoration and furnishing, all of which we knew would require very little dressing up at all for the wedding, which is exactly what we wanted. We therefore couldn’t believe our luck where we were able to book our wedding and a post-wedding pool party over an August Bank Holiday weekend.

Despite this, It’s fair to say that I was initially very reluctant when it came to wedding planning, having been through a really stressful time around booking the wedding and thereafter, we were feeling really anxious about it. We therefore hadn’t really engaged at all with Saltmarshe Hall or in wedding planning (and had booked nothing) when we were invited to our first details meeting, six months before the wedding. So, in a panic, I called and explained our situation to Ashleigh and I’m so glad that I did as I instantly felt better — she couldn’t have been more understanding, caring and reassuring. This was a huge turning point for us and we were finally able to start feeling more excited than worried — I will always be so very grateful to her for that.

We first met Ashleigh in person at our first details meeting, which we left knowing we were in the most capable hands possible — we trusted her entirely. She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and to help us catch up with anything we’d missed. She, Amy and their chef even organised an extra tasting evening for us, which we enjoyed so very much. The food was not only delicious but presented with such care and attention to detail, including the dish the chef had made specially at our request. (We thought there was absolutely no way that it could possibly be as good on the day, but, spoiler alert, if anything, it was even better!) Throughout the months leading up to the wedding, no request we made, no matter how big or small, was ever too much for Ashleigh, who was always on hand to help and, we really felt, couldn’t have been more invested in us or our wedding day. She is truly one in a million and we couldn’t feel more lucky to have been able to work with her.

From start to finish, Ashleigh, Amy and the Saltmarshe team ran our wedding to absolute perfection. They were always ten steps ahead, anticipating and being prepared for every possible eventuality, planned or otherwise. This meant that we were able to be totally in present in the moment with our guests (and I am not someone who switches off easily) and make the most of every single second. Ever since the wedding, our guests have also had no end of compliments for Saltmarshe Hall and loved it for all the reasons we did and more. It would therefore be impossible to note everything that impressed us and them over the weekend (the list would go on forever), but just a few of the highlights include: the friendly front of house staff who looked after everyone and couldn’t have done enough for us; the absolutely delicious and beautifully presented food, which was enjoyed by everyone regardless of their dietary requirements; how well my Mum was accommodated as a wheelchair user; the impeccably kept grounds and gardens; the sheer peace and quiet of its location that made us and our guests feel like we were in our little world… Our only complaint is that we can’t do it all over again!

I cannot stress enough how our expectations have been beyond exceeded by Saltmarshe Hall and every single member of its exceptional team, we are beyond grateful to them all, and especially Ashleigh, for giving us and our guests the wedding weekend that dreams are made of — thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We look forward to taking every opportunity to come back and spend more time at Saltmarshe Hall and with the team in the future, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we had a number of our very impressed guests in tow!

We do not have the words to fully explain how brilliant the Saltmarshe Hall team are. From the minute we arranged a visit to the venue, they were so attentive, personable and could not have been more accommodating. As soon as we drove up to the hall, we knew it was the venue for us – its elegant, timeless, yet homely style was very much what we were aiming for. It was so hard to decide where to have our ceremony as there are so many equally beautiful locations around the hall and gardens. Ashleigh was able to help extract the scrambled vision from my mind and help us turn it into a reality. From start to finish, Ashleigh was the most unbelievable co-ordinator we could have asked for – friendly, organised and a keen eye for detail.

On the day, Ashleigh, Tim, Amy and the rest of the team were central – so many guests commented on how the staff felt like a part of the day and were so warm and accommodating. We genuinely could not have asked for more and at no point throughout the process did we feel as though it was a service. Every member of staff made us feel as though our wedding was as important to them as it was to us. Even though there was a wedding the day before ours and an event the day after, there was never the feeling that it was ‘just another wedding’. The food was phenomenal, the rooms are stunning and the gardens are immaculately kept.

We genuinely cannot recommend Saltmarshe Hall enough to anyone looking for their dream venue!

From the get-go we knew we loved Saltmarshe Hall. We had been viewing other venues but none of them ticked the boxes like this one, even boxes we didn't know we had! It has beautiful grounds, a fabulous mix of contemporary and classic decor and a vast array of period features to centre photographs around, including the walled gardens, Lime Tree Ave. and that incredible curving staircase in the atrium.

Amy couldn't do enough for us and was with us through every step of the planning, the meal choices and table plan, the taster evening and making time for our check-ins during the lead up to the event. She spent the whole two days corralling wayward guests and organising our outside suppliers, ensuring both myself and my new bride had everything we could possibly need, usually before we even asked for it.

All the staff were wonderful, exceeding all possible expectations. The pool party and barbeque the day before were lovely and the cooked breakfast really set myself and the guests up for the big day in the morning (bride had delicious fruit and pastries in the bridal suite whilst getting ready with the bridal party).

All the food was exceptional, far exceeding our expectations of wedding catering from previous experience as wedding guests, the three choices presenting excellent value for money (definitely go for that!). The canapes were delicious and a selection was brought to us separately, allowing us a quiet few minutes away from the hustle and bustle together before the next round of photographs.

Everything ran so smoothly and we just went with the flow, our trust in the staff and venue well-rewarded. It's true what married folks tell you: it goes so fast after so much planning: it really is over in a heartbeat, but I wouldn't change a thing about it, even the hour of rain we had in the evening reception didn't dampen any spirits, as the venue had ample space inside, and the covered patio was heated and comfortable.

We honestly can't recommend this venue highly enough. You may find something cheaper in your search but cheap doesn't always mean value for money. You will have peace of mind with a booking at Saltmarshe Hall, and for the most important day of your life you need all the support you can get so that you can focus on simply enjoying yourselves and spending time with the people you love.

The staff are really what is most special about saltmarshe hall I’ve never experienced service quite like it! On our wedding day they worked behind the scenes setting up decor, moving us room to room ect so we could just enjoy our day with our loved ones!

The hall itself is absolutely stunning and the grounds are really why we fell in love with it! So well looked after and beautiful in the summer time especially! There’s a reason why this venue wins the awards they do every year because they truly are amazing at weddings and making couples feel so well looked after!

Absolutely magical! My wedding day at Saltmarshe Hall was everything I had dreamed of and more. The venue was stunning, providing the perfect scene for our outdoor ceremony. From start to finish, the day was flawless.
We were serenaded by a beautiful string quartet for the ceremony and a harpist during the wedding breakfast. Later in the evening, the DJ kept everyone on their feet, ensuring the dance floor was always full.
The attention to detail at Saltmarshe was unmatched. A special highlight was the gentleman who continuously sprayed me with my wedding scent throughout the day!

From our first tour, we knew Saltmarshe Hall was the perfect place for both our ceremony and reception. The grounds are beautiful and the venue is tucked away in a peaceful, secluded setting that immediately captured our hearts.

Throughout the planning process, Ashleigh and the team were outstanding, making everything feel effortless. They helped us at every step of the way, answering all our questions and ensuring no detail was overlooked. On our wedding day, we were able to completely relax as the team handled coordination with our vendors and setting up our decorations. Seeing our ceremony space for the first time took my breath away, and I was moved to tears when we saw our wedding breakfast table – it was beyond perfect.

If you're keen on having amazing food at your wedding, Saltmarshe Hall is the place to be. We requested a fully vegan menu, and the chef exceeded all our expectations. The food was phenomenal, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it! Saltmarshe Hall made our day truly unforgettable, and we couldn’t be more grateful for their incredible hospitality and attention to detail. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a gorgeous venue with a dedicated team.

We can’t thank you guys enough for all you did on our wedding weekend. Ashleigh and the team were beyond incredible! The day ran so seamlessly! We had so many compliments from guests on how beautiful the venue was and how well organised the Saltmarshe team were.
  
We managed to hire saltmarshe hall for the whole weekend, which was incredibly convenient with all the rooms available for our family and friends to make the most of what was incredible place to have not only a wedding but a family reunion. The venue and gardens are beautiful and we loved being able to host a pool party the following day where we could all relax. 

With planning this from Australia, the team were so helpful with recommendations for top tier local vendors and suppliers that in turn were incredibly helpful and accommodating. 

The food was delicious and they are so well organised when it comes to dietary requirements and allergies. 

We honestly had the most spectacular day. Our only regret is that we can’t do it all over again! 🥹

We had the most amazing wedding day in April 2024.

We originally viewed saltmarshe at an open evening in July 2023 and fell in love with the venue. There were no summer 2024 dates left, but Amy contacted us to let us know of some April deals where they offered a discount rate and money towards the amazing All occasions of Howden.
After some thought, we decided to take the plunge and plan the wedding in 9 months.

We visited Saltmarshe for a couple of meetings in the planning stages, and we got more excited every time. Amy was always enthusiastic and would handle our requests at ease - even when we had numerous changes to the meals.

We booked all the rooms for two nights and felt like royalty for the weekend, having all our family and friends there for two evenings. We chose the family style meal for the night before the wedding and it was such a special evening spent with close friends and family.

We had our ceremony in the morning room, which was light and beautiful, even if you have a rainy day! We also chose the morning room for the wedding breakfast, and it looked incredible with the beautiful styling.

The venue itself was stunning and we had so many guests compliment it. There are beautiful walled gardens to have photos in, and we loved the set of the venue itself with areas that guests could relax, such as the library. The bar is just down the corridor from the morning room, so we also opened the outdoor bar for the evening to reduce pressure on the bar.

Amy was fantastic on the day, and managed to manoeuvre all the guests with ease so we could get all the shots we wanted. Tim was also amazing at ensuring everything ran smoothly and all the guests were happy.

Compared to other venues we viewed, Saltmarshe is a great value, high quality venue and we were able to add all the extras we wanted to truly make it the best day ever.

Highly recommend for the best day of your lives!
