We had the most amazing wedding day at Shustoke Barn. The red-brick barn and courtyard is a beautiful setting that we instantly fell in love with. However, the stand-out thing about this venue is definitely the staff; from viewing and planning right through to the day itself. Emma was extremely kind and helpful, carefully planning our day and accommodating our personal touches. Kasey could not have been more organised, diligent and helpful as our on-the-day coordinator. All our dietary requirements, special requests and decor instructions were executed to perfection. Everything was taken care of so that we could just relax and enjoy our day, which we are so grateful for. All the food was excellent and there was plenty of it. Every one of our guests commented on the food and excellent service by all the staff. There is honestly nothing we could fault about this venue. Late night pizzas on the dance floor were a huge hit and we had the best day ever!

We booked our wedding in January, and got married in June. Despite our short engagement the entire process was stress free thanks to the Shustoke team. The team of planners were incredibly organised, attentive and offer an amazing service which many other venues charge premium for. Our day ran smoothly and numerous family and friends commented on how helpful, polite and relaxed the staff were on the day. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and the food was amazing, we got such lovely feedback from so many of our guests. I really can’t thank the team enough.

We had our wedding reception at Shustoke Barn on 7th June and it was fantastic. All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was and the staff were so accommodating that it was easy to create the right party vibe for us. The team at Shustoke are a well oiled machine and there wasn’t a moment that we didn’t trust that they would deliver a great day for us.

What can we say ! Shustoke and the team were amazing from start to finish.

We got married on the 14th July after Covid postponement. It truly was the perfect venue for us, casually sophisticated outstanding.

We have been to many weddings across the area but not at Shustoke and have to say it was the best one by far, no stuffy formality here.

The compliments we have had from all of our guests have blown us away. The food was amazing, the service from the team and Becci on the day meant we could totally enjoy every moment.

Shustoke we cannot fault you and would recommend you to anyone. Look no further for your ideal venue.

We got married at Shustoke Farm Barns on Saturday 26th February 2022. It may be a cliché, but it really was the most perfect day of our lives!

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, both during the day and at night. We opted to have their indoor and outdoor decorations package, which made the venue even more breathtaking. The food is some of the best food we have ever eaten! All of our guests loved the canapés, main meal and evening food. We had a few dietary requirements and the venue were so accommodating - the vegetarian and vegan options are fantastic! If you book your wedding here, we would highly recommend booking a feast night. This gives you the opportunity to try some of the food before your wedding date. It is the perfect way to show off this beautiful venue to your families!

From the very first Zoom viewing in April 2020 and up until the day itself, all of the staff were incredibly helpful. No matter what our query was, Shustoke responded promptly with kindness and expert advice. Special mention to Kasey (who coordinated our planning meeting), Becci (our day coordinator), Lee (our evening coordinator) and all of the bar/waiting staff. All of them were fabulous and made the day run seamlessly. When we went back the next day to pick up our last few bits of decorations, the staff had relocated everything that belonged to us to one area of the barn to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind. They really do think of EVERYTHING.

Simply put, the least flexible and helpful people I’ve ever dealt with in my life…

Shustoke Barn is a beautiful wedding venue and I have to say that we enjoyed our wedding there, but this is absolutely DESPITE the staff at Shustoke Barn, rather than because of them. Their handling of the whole wedding was scandalous from start to finish and completely ruined our experience of getting married. Everything we requested was too much trouble for Shustoke and the build up to the wedding was one of the most needlessly stressful experiences of our lives.

We had to rearrange our wedding because of Covid, but were told by Shustoke that we were not able to do this (despite the country being in lockdown) until a few weeks before the wedding date, as they wanted to see if we would come out of lockdown before the wedding date. We didn’t want to take this risk, but were told that if we didn’t leave it until a few weeks before the wedding was due to take place, we would have to cancel and lose our deposit (over £3000!). Their justification for this was that they had had to rearrange over 100 bookings as a chain and couldn’t afford to continue to do this. This meant we had to send out invites, pay for the band, photographer etc for a date that we were 99% sure wouldn’t happen, just in case the national lockdown finished in time! It was a completely ridiculous situation and we found it disgraceful that we, as the customers, were being forced into taking all the risk on losing money through covid, when the venue went completely unscathed and were not willing to support us in any way, despite the national lockdown being completely out of our control.

As predicted, lockdown didn’t end in time for our wedding to go ahead, so the venue allowed us to rearrange, however by the time this happened we then had to move to a much less favourable date (February instead of August) due to extremely limited availability of the venue over the next two years. My fiancée (now wife) had her heart set on a summer wedding, so I informed Shustoke that we’d rather look elsewhere for a venue, to again be told that we’d lose our deposit if we did so, as it was non-refundable under any circumstances, as indicated in the wedding contract (signed before coronavirus hit). Again, a shocking lack of flexibility and empathy for our situation displayed. In the end we were forced to get married in February, as we wouldn’t afford to lose that much money and still get married. I completely understand that the venue don’t want to lose out on bookings and I wouldn’t expect any money back if we got cold feet and wanted to cancel the wedding or something similar, but surely a global pandemic is fair justification for a change of plans! Every other company/industry has had to accept losing money as part of the pandemic, but not Shustoke Barn!

Aside from all the issues with trying to change the date of the wedding, Shustoke Barn also provide absolutely nothing other than the room for hire, in return for your booking. We spent over £13000 in total with them, but were given no assistance with anything from booking until the day. Anything additional you need, must be provided yourself. Even down to tiny things e.g. on the day they don’t even play your entrance music for you (you have to get a guest to do it) or cut up the joints of beef they serve (someone on each table must do it). Literally every request we made was too much trouble for them, we even asked if it would be possible to take our wedding cake to the venue a day early for storage, as we wouldn’t have time to take it over to the venue on the morning of the wedding - only too be told they don’t offer this service, so it had to be kept in our garage overnight and transported by myself on the morning of the wedding. There was no wedding there the day before us, so would it really have killed them to allow us to store a cake somewhere? Additionally, the food they serve on the day is tasty but it also comes in absolutely tiny portions and this left many of our guests unhappy with the meal, which was a shame given how expensive it was.

Overall, they made the entire build up to the wedding the most stressful experience of our lives, and ruined any and all excitement that me and my partner had about our special day. All this was replaced with worries and stress and I can honestly say I wouldn’t recommend this venue to anyone, even if it was provided free of charge!

Some positives: beautiful venue, the staff on the day (bar staff, waiters/waitresses etc) were good, they do stay open quite late compared to some venues (1am) and the beef they served was delicious.

Myself and Matthew got married at Shustoke Barn on 29/12/21 and what an experience it was. The barn is simply breathtaking, and speaks for itself so minimal decorations will suffice. I would recommend the indoor and outdoor package especially with it being winter and getting dark quite early, it was magical.

The experience with the staff from start to finish was great, no question unanswered and in regular contact with me and Matthew throughout even at such uncertain times. Lisa greeted me in the car park with a calm presence and smile that instantly put me at ease. All the staff were working really hard throughout the night to make sure our day ran as smoothly as possible and it defiantly did. Paul took over from Lisa and the standard remained high, Paul was approachable and organised, nothing was too much trouble for him.

Overall fantastic day and night, cannot fault anything. Fantastic venue and lovely staff that made the day run very smoothly. We wanted a laid back, chilled wedding day and this is what we got. We got married here 12th September 2022 (our third date), and I actually cannot praise the venue enough. Each time we had to change date they were nothing short of amazing, so accommodating and it felt like they couldn’t do enough to make sure our day was as perfect as they could. But the venue really shone for us on the day of the wedding, the on day co-ordinators were incredible, they could not do enough for us and our guests, the waiters and waitresses were incredible (food was delicious and all the guests commented about the food, the best wedding food they had ever had)! The bar staff equally as amazing.
I honestly have not got one bad word to say about the venue or it’s staff, I would absolutely recommend this wedding venue.

We had originally booked our wedding for April 2020 and then when COVID hit we postponed, postponed and postponed again! Since the day we booked the staff at the barn were friendly, communicative and really responsive. Throughout the whole process of us postponing three times they were understanding, kind and couldn't have helped us more! Our day finally came around on 2nd October and despite the rain we had the most amazing day! All of the staff were attentive, friendly and we couldn't have asked for a better day. We had Becci look after us in the day and then Paul took over in the evening. Becci and Paul again were attentive and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. As I (bride) arrived Becci was quick to reassure me everything was in place and not to worry about the rain. Any small issues that came up were sorted with minimal involvement from us and this helped us feel relaxed and calm all day.
Becci made sure she handed us over to Paul when he arrived to take over and this handover was seamless. Paul made sure we were where we needed to be at the right time e.g. first dance which probably wasn't very easy as we were very busy chatting to guests! We have had so many compliments about the food from many of our guests with a lot stating the beef was the best beef they had ever tasted! Everybody loved the venue, the staff, food and the general experience of the day which we couldn't be happier about!
Overall our experience with the team has been really great despite the uncertainty we have all faced over the last 18months they have always reassured us and made us feel confident that we chose the right venue.
I would absolutely recommend the venue to other couple's considering having their wedding there and wish we could relive the whole day all over again!
