  The perfect wedding!.

  What a perfect day!!, on the 7th of September 2025 we chose to marry at the Red Lion Hotel, and what a brilliant choice it was!.
  The staff couldn't do enough for us and Radina was the perfect wedding planner/guide throughout!. On the day we didn't have worry about anything, Radina had taken time and care to ensure all the details were tailored to us and what we wanted our day to be.
  The food was beautiful, and the Marlborough room made up for the perfect ceremony and later a wonderful dinner set up. We couldn't be happier that we chose this gorgeous location. We want to say a huge thank you to all of the staff that made our day so very special.
  If you are thinking of getting married here then you will be in safe hands!.

  Our Wedding

  We had the most amazing experience with the Red Lion Hotel from start to finish. Our wedding took place on 22.03.25. The day went perfectly, the food was absolutely gorgeous. We could not reccommend this venue enough for a wedding. It has a lovely atmosphere with the courtyard being the perfect place for pictures. Also with it being a short walk from the cathedral you have another photo opportunity near by. The events team at the Red Lion ensure you are kept up to date with the process and have multiple meetings with you. The drinks are well priced and the package deals are perfect. Overall we are very please and happy if we could do it all over again, we would not hesitate on choosing your beautiful venue again. Thankyou for everything!

  Our wedding

  We knew how stressful planning a wedding could be and the red lion hotel took care of that. They were very organised and understanding of what we wanted to make our day special. They took care of everything so we could enjoy every second.

  Beautiful venue and amazing staff

  Honestly the Red Lion Hotel was amazing. I added the décor package; it was simply beautiful. The ceremony room was stunning! We wanted a less formal wedding and did not want a sit down meal, instead they said we could swap this out of the set package and have canapes served and have a drinks station set up for guests to help themselves. We spent 2 hours in the beautiful courtyard being served hot and cold canapes, they kept coming with more platters ensuring all guests were offered each one, every little canape was delicious!
  
  The room was turned around for the evening, we had a disco and buffet, we over run slightly and asked for the buffet to be stalled a bit, the staff were brilliant and did all they could for us to ensure we were happy and things all run as it should have.
  
  Angel was on duty earlier in the day, she was lovely, nothing was too much trouble and she ensured the table decorations were put out and the doughnut wall topped up. She went over and above - she was especially patient with me as I was super nervous trying to get ready to go meet the registrars.
  
  We stayed in the Seamstress Room, I have never stayed in such an amazingly beautiful room. We want to book in again to stay for our anniversary.
  
  I want to mention how professional and attentive Radina was prior to the wedding ensuring we had every tiny detail recorded as we wanted it, Radina even popped in on her day off to see us and make sure all was running as we wanted it.

  Wedding Venue

  We had the most amazing wedding on the 26th October 2018 at this beautiful hotel.
  From start to finish I knew we had chosen the perfect venue & Radina was amazing, helping me create my wedding day. All the staff were fantastic, thank you so much.
  Highly recommended.

  Outstanding service

  On behalf of myself and my husband, Lynda & Mike Misselbrook (the Groom's parents) and of course Cat & Andrew Misselbrook- our newlyweds, I would like to thank the Best Western Red Lion Hotel for providing outstanding service at Cat & Andrew's Wedding Reception on 15th August 2018.
  The whole event was executed perfectly, and we know that this is down to one thing - you and your teams.
  In particular, we would like to thank a number of members of staff who provided exceptional service: Dawn Brand- your Reception Manager, the lady who was the Manager of table service at the Wedding Reception (and much more!)- who has long blond hair and glasses and we believe may be called Fanika? Your head chef (who's name we do not know, but who's food was beautiful!!) and of course both of you, for leading the team and providing what we can only describe as brilliant customer service from the point at which we first visited the hotel last year, to the point at which the very last guest left.
  It has been a wonderful occasion and once which we will never forget and we thank you most sincerely for playing a key role in making it so.
