We had the most amazing experience with the Red Lion Hotel from start to finish. Our wedding took place on 22.03.25. The day went perfectly, the food was absolutely gorgeous. We could not reccommend this venue enough for a wedding. It has a lovely atmosphere with the courtyard being the perfect place for pictures. Also with it being a short walk from the cathedral you have another photo opportunity near by. The events team at the Red Lion ensure you are kept up to date with the process and have multiple meetings with you. The drinks are well priced and the package deals are perfect. Overall we are very please and happy if we could do it all over again, we would not hesitate on choosing your beautiful venue again. Thankyou for everything! -

From initial booking to view the venue to the service received all they way to the following morning it was fantastic.
Chloe who met with us to view the venue was so helpful and answered all our questions and was so quick to respond to anything else we thought of during the booking process and handover to the onsite co-ordinator Radina.
The value for money you get with the packages is amazing, and many people we spoke to were surprised but how much you get for the money!
After booking we attending 2 further open days to see the venue again and also speak to suppliers they recommend and help us plan our ideas. Everyone we came in to contact with was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
We were then handed over to Radina who co-ordinated all the planning and on the day co-ordinator and she is fantastic. She was professional but she was also kind, supportive and just as excited to see the day come together, We decided to mix the traditional with the untraditional and were happy to support anything we wanted to add to our day - including live tattooists for the guests and us! Radina is a superstar and i cannot imagine that this would have gone so perfectly without her. So thank you Radina!
On the day Radina kept everyone on schedule and kept my bridesmaids and the best men informed to ensure everything went off without a hitch. The whole team at the red lion were amazing and we could not fault them at all! Several members of our families commented on how well organised it was and how lovely all of the staff were.
The food was lovely, and the catering team and head chef were amazing in going through details for the food to make sure it was right for us. We had a complicated allergens/dietary requirements list and they executed it all beautifully without any issues.
The venue is stunning and the history is amazing, with many guests going for a wander to take photos of all the historical aspects.
Last but definetly not least we have to say a massive thank you to the bar staff - especially Lucas, Steven and Rhys who were fantastic at keeping everyone in alcohol and providing everyone with humour! You guys truly deserve this shout out!

We knew how stressful planning a wedding could be and the red lion hotel took care of that. They were very organised and understanding of what we wanted to make our day special. They took care of everything so we could enjoy every second. -

Honestly the Red Lion Hotel was amazing. I added the décor package; it was simply beautiful. The ceremony room was stunning! We wanted a less formal wedding and did not want a sit down meal, instead they said we could swap this out of the set package and have canapes served and have a drinks station set up for guests to help themselves. We spent 2 hours in the beautiful courtyard being served hot and cold canapes, they kept coming with more platters ensuring all guests were offered each one, every little canape was delicious!
The room was turned around for the evening, we had a disco and buffet, we over run slightly and asked for the buffet to be stalled a bit, the staff were brilliant and did all they could for us to ensure we were happy and things all run as it should have.
Angel was on duty earlier in the day, she was lovely, nothing was too much trouble and she ensured the table decorations were put out and the doughnut wall topped up. She went over and above - she was especially patient with me as I was super nervous trying to get ready to go meet the registrars.
We stayed in the Seamstress Room, I have never stayed in such an amazingly beautiful room. We want to book in again to stay for our anniversary.
I want to mention how professional and attentive Radina was prior to the wedding ensuring we had every tiny detail recorded as we wanted it, Radina even popped in on her day off to see us and make sure all was running as we wanted it.
Fantastic team and lovely people.
Thank you for the best day, it was better than we imagined. Our guests also said how relaxed and lovely the day, staff and surroundings were. Thank you so much. -

Wedding Venue
We had the most amazing wedding on the 26th October 2018 at this beautiful hotel.
From start to finish I knew we had chosen the perfect venue & Radina was amazing, helping me create my wedding day. All the staff were fantastic, thank you so much.
Highly recommended. -
