Take a step back in time in our stunning grade II listed venue, Redmayne House. This Grade II listed Georgian town house is date marked 1787 while the original parts of the property date back to the 1650s, with the large hallway with boasting original Georgian features.
Located in the popular Cumbrian town of Kirkby Stephen in the heart of the Eden Valley, giving easy access to the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Pennines, Redmayne House is the perfect choice for a wedding to remember.
Sleeping up to seventeen guests in eight bedrooms (six with private en-suite facilities, and one Jack and Jill en-suite), plus a family bathroom over the second and third floor, there shouldn’t be any arguing over using one of the many amazing bathrooms.
With three separate living areas on the ground floor, the snug/study, sitting room and grand living room all with real fires or wood burning stoves. Also on the ground floor is the beautiful dining room with stunning wood panelling on the walls, plus a stunning kitchen providing all the appliances that you would want and need, with a handy utility providing washing and drying facilities.
Now for the best bit, after a long day of celebrations, whatever the weather, you can indulge and relax in the bubbling indoor hot tub in the garden room or have a friendly competition at pool or darts in the games room.
Located in the Eden Valley you’re surrounded by, and on the borders of, what is effectively three National Parks. To the north, the North Pennines with rolling hills, woodland, and picturesque surroundings. To the south, the Yorkshire Dales National Park, with caves, waterfalls, iconic and historical towns and villages. To the west, the Lake District National Park with lakes, mountains and any number of tourist hotspots. Kirkby Stephen itself is steeped in history and offers a good selection of bars, restaurants, independent shops and sights to visit. It’s also home to a heritage railway station, where you can enjoy a lovely scenic trip on the historic Carlisle - Settle line. The market town of Kendal, 20 miles, is known as the ‘gateway to the southern Lake District’, and perfect for a day of shopping. From here you can easily access the popular tourist hotspots of Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere as well as take a cruise on the famous Windermere steamers. All in all, if you love the outdoors, you’re spoilt for choice, Redmayne House, ticks all the boxes.
