New Hall Hotel & Spa: A moated manor wedding in Sutton Coldfield
Set within 26 acres of countryside in Sutton Coldfield, New Hall is a historic 13th-century moated manor with a drawbridge, leaded windows and oak-panelled interiors.
The Great Chamber provides a richly detailed indoor setting, while the Rose Garden offers an outdoor alternative for up to 75 guests. Exclusive use is also available for couples who want the house to themselves.

A truly magical dream wedding
The venue itself is magical, our guests loved New Hall and were blown away by it.
We would 110% recommend anyone to have their wedding at New Hall Hotel, it truly is a dream wedding venue with the building being surrounded by the moat where the beautiful water lilies are, all the greenery, the history of the place makes it so grand and majestic and royal.
Our family stayed in the hotel rooms and every single one of them loved their rooms, they loved the service.
And we were absolutely lucky enough to have breakfast together the next day in the main chamber (where we had our ceremony the day before). That is something priceless, a memory I will forever cherish
We genuinely cannot fault anything, we are so happy, our family and friends said it was the best wedding they have been to :) and that's definitely such a grand compliment.

After a lot of searching online and emailing / ringing a few places with slow/no responses - we were lucky enough to discover New Hall through Handpicked hotels - they had an excellent website, got back to us very quickly with emails. They had availability for about 5 weeks time and arranged an in person visit straight away.
We knew we liked it the second we were there - the building and the setting is beautiful - the moat just makes it.
We were greeted by our wedding coordinator Olivia - who was friendly, relaxed, professional and who was able to offer us exactly what we needed 'the intimate package' - which was very reasonably priced and included ceremony room, private dining for 10 people a 5 course meal with wine, canapes, champagne, bridal suite, breakfast for everyone the next day - a dedicated team who would dress the rooms for you, a live video link for people who can't be there, a few other extras included and then other bits you could add on and build up your package if you wished. The wedding co-ordinator was amazing throughout, really helpful & patient, quick to respond to every question / amendment / new requirement.
They had a handy list of suppliers you could use to help you find local florists / photographers etc. or you can still choose your own.
Funnily enough - we had never been married before, so had no idea of the full process, but we were helped every step of the way. Olivia was great and has the aura of someone super experienced at wedding organising relaxed and calm and we knew we could trust her to help get stuff done!
The actual wedding day was perfect - the hotel has a one bride policy (only one wedding a day) - all the staff were extremely friendly helpful and attentive and made our guests, the groom & myself feel very special & well looked after.
The Ceremony Room and the Garden Room (dining room) are beautiful without any further dressing up (and the building is full of interesting history). But we did have beautiful flowers from the florist (recommended via New Hall/handpicked hotels) and I provided decorations and instructions, which the dedicated team followed to the letter and created something even more beautiful than I expected.
The hotel was really accommodating and let us store decs the night before / remove them the morning after.
The food and drink at the hotel was yummy and beautifully presented and there was a lot of it - everyone was stuffed after dinner. They also took great care to make sure any allergies /special food requirements etc were catered for.
We also had use of the lounge & bar and the out door garden space. The grounds are beautiful. Our Bridal suite room was amazing - extremely spacious, beautiful furniture and little extra surprises in our room chocs n rose petals that were a really lovely touch that made us feel extra special.
Due to covid & work & the difficulty travelling at the moment, we also stayed for our mini moon there - enjoying afternoon tea, room service - use of the swimming pool at the spa and nice treatments like massages and pedicures.
From beginning to end one of the best experiences of my life.
We highly recommend having your wedding there! Perfect for all your needs - everything all organised in one place - they really helped take a lot of the hassle and stress out of it - which is what you need when you've only given yourself a month to get married.
Felt perfect for our intimate 10 people wedding - but they also have larger dining rooms and a marquee if you want to have a BIG wedding.
We also recommend just visiting the hotel to enjoy the hotel! - We will definitely be back again.
