We had a wonderful experience at Midelney Manor for our wedding. The venue is beautiful, with stunning surroundings and a really lovely atmosphere that made it the perfect setting for our special day.

Alice, who runs the weddings at Midelney Manor, was fantastic to work with. She was so helpful and attentive from the start, making sure everything went smoothly and that we felt completely at ease. Her care and attention to detail really showed throughout the process, and on the day itself, everything ran effortlessly.

We’re so glad we chose Midelney Manor for our wedding. It’s a beautiful venue, and Alice made it all come together perfectly. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our day.

We had the most amazing wedding at Midelney Manor. Alice was an absolute dream to work alongside and was genuinely invested in making our day the best it could be. Alice was always at the end of the phone, was full of suggestions and liaised with our suppliers proactively and effectively, helping to take the load off us where possible.
Midelney Manor has several areas you can choose to hold your ceremony with an absolutely beautiful wet weather location which is full of character and won’t feel like a secondary option if the weather isn’t kind to you. Then it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to your drinks reception and wedding breakfast in the grounds of the manor!
In the run up, our weather was looking unpredictable but Alice was checking every weather app and doing everything in her power to ensure we could have the day as planned as much as possible. The morning of, Alice was coordinating with all our suppliers allowing us to be able to enjoy the morning without stressing, we knew that our day was in safe hands and any decisions she made due to weather would have been carefully considered. All our guests couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful the venue was!
If you want a really personal wedding experience in a venue that will give you carte blanche and complete flexibility to do what you want, Midelney Manor is for you. I cannot express how perfect Midelney Manor is as a wedding venue. Myself and my (now) husband were looking to create a barn, rustic, relaxed feeling for our wedding. Midelney Manor is a hidden little gem that we were fortunate enough to find and I am so thankful that we did! From the first meeting with Alice and seeing her gorgeous home, we immediately fell in love and knew this was perfect venue for us!

Alice was so warm and welcoming towards us from day one and she put us at ease knowing we could make the day our own and reflect us as a couple. She was extremely helpful and she was always contactable to ask any question or clarify anything.

Being able to have the venue all weekend made the build up to the day more special and stress-free. Again, Alice was super accommodating along with her lovely husband – it really was a family event! We were never under any pressure with time, they couldn’t have been more flexible for us which made the whole planning experience even more enjoyable and exciting leading up to the day!

Our guests could not compliment the setting enough! The Potting Shed had the rustic, quirky, cosy feeling for the ceremony that we wanted and the gardens provided stunning backdrops for all the photos, along with a beautiful marquee for the wedding breakfast and evening party.

Having accommodation on site was fantastic – the online pictures do not do Midelney West justice! It is super spacious to have your wedding party get ready for the day and even better to not have far to travel at the end of the night. Myself and my husband had booked to stay in the Iglu which was a lovely mini retreat for us to reflect on the day and spend quality time as newlyweds.

Thank you Alice and your whole family for making our wedding planning and day so special and memorable! We could not have hoped to have a more perfect wedding day and I am sure we will be returning for anniversaries in the future!

Midelney has such a beautiful, natural English summer garden feel. Alice was so warm, helpful, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We were able to pick vendors from her list of compiled recommendations who were so pleased with and cannot recommend enough.

We chose to stay at the Iglu on the evening of and evening after our wedding which was such a lovely touch, waking up to the peaceful nature.

Midelney was the perfect place for our wedding, we loved the flexibility of being able to make the space our own and the gardens make for a gorgeous back drop. This lesser known venue is a hidden gem, all our guests are still talking about how beautiful Midelney was.

We have just had our wedding at Midelney Manor and WOW what a perfect day we had. The venue is simply stunning , a hidden gem right in the heart of the Somerset Levels. The gardens and grounds are gorgeous and so well kept. The setting is just the most perfect place to host a wedding. We have had rave reviews from our guests commenting on how wonderful this venue was and we couldn't agree more.

Alice Acton, owner of the venue also acts as a coordinator. She went above and beyond from day one. Nothing was to much to ask, no question was ever too silly. She has a real love and passion for creating the perfect day for the couples who decide to choose Midelney as their venue. She spends time getting to know her couples, assisting wherever needed and checking in along the way to see how it's going and see where she can be of assistance. The entire weekend Alice was part of the set up, present on the say and even helped with the clean up and packing cars with all our items.

Due to the venue hosting a smaller amount of weddings a year as opposed to some of the larger known venues across Somerset, Alice puts her all into these weddings and really cares. Wanting to make the biggest day of your life one to ALWAYS remember.

On site there is also Midelney West which is a self catering property which sleeps 7 included in the venue hire pricing and it was gorgeous as so handy to have.

We had our wedding reception at Midelney Manor in July 2023 and honestly we could not have chosen a better venue!

Alice was a delight to deal with from our very first enquiry - helpful, responsive and gave great advice based on her extensive experience. We had a great experience with her recommended suppliers too. Her hard work on the day itself was beyond appreciated, she kept everything running as it should and took all pressure off us.

Midelney Manor is absolutely stunning and our guests were so impressed. It was the perfect place to bring our dream day to life, and we felt so lucky that in choosing Midelney (and Alice!) we could have such a personal and bespoke wedding reception that really reflected 'us' as a couple. The onsite accommodation was a very useful benefit too.

I honestly cannot recommend Alice and Midelney Manor enough, we had our wedding this weekend, and it was simply stunning (even if I am biased!)

From the first time we reached out to Alice, to the day we left Midelney after the wedding, Alice was so attentive, and incredibly helpful!

Having never planned a wedding, or any large event before, myself and my now husband were completely at a loss of where to begin, how much things would cost, how to find suppliers, right down to picking a time that the ceremony should begin!
Alice gave us an extensive list of suppliers she recommends, along with always being contactable to answer any questions we had.
I'd feel myself getting stressed about something, so speak to Alice, and almost immediately I'd be calm and have a plan set out, honestly she has made our planning enjoyable rather than full of stress!

With regards to pricing, having looked at many other venues, the pricing is extremely fair! As not only do you get use of the venue, but Alice as an invaluable help! The venue has many different areas, so it really felt like a few venues rolled into one!

The venue itself is so incredibly beautiful, with lots of stunning areas, and private nooks. We stayed onsite at their Iglu accommodation, while 3 couples of our bridal party stayed in Midelney West. This was so perfect, as it meant we had people close, but my husband and I could have our own space to escape to!

We have had so many compliments from guests, raving about how beautiful the grounds are, but also how personalised the day felt. One of the many things we loved about Midelney Manor was that they dedicate a full weekend of your wedding, so there isn't such a mad rush to get things put up and taken down, making the weekend feel so special.

The Potting Shed is an amazing space, everytime we were in there, we noticed something we hadn't seen before, from the vegetable competition certificates from the 1920s, to the beautiful portraits on the walls.
It was a blessing to have an area that was cooler than outside for our elderly guests to sit, out of the sun!

If you are thinking about visiting, all I can say is go, you will be swept up by Alice's passion and expertise!

We came to view Midelney manor on a cold February day and knew before even seeing the grounds that this was the wedding venue for us because of how wonderful the owner Alice was. But when we got outside it was even better; the grounds were spectacular, even on a grey and wet day. The day of our wedding exceeded all our expectations and our guests told us it was like walking through a dream being on the grounds of Midelney manor. We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect wedding venue and would highly recommend it.

The Iglu is also a great place to spend your wedding night and a few days after (firehouse in Langport and the Drayton crown great for a Friday/Sunday meal).

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Midelney or Alice!! Alice went above and beyond during COVID to help us and recommended the most incredible suppliers. She ran the entire day flawlessly and was amazing to work with. Midelney itself is beautiful, with incredible gardens, an enchanting house and the quirky potting shed. We count ourselves extremely lucky to have been able to get married there, and would recommend Midelney to anyone.

My now husband contacted Alice before he'd even popped the question about availability of the venue. From the initial email Alice has been so helpful and responsive to our emails and questions. The day before the wedding Alice helped us to settle in and I could leave a whole separate review for our stay at Midelney West which was included as part of the venue hire (just amazing).
Then we come to the wedding day - Alice's attentiveness was incredible. She was there from start to finish - helping guests, moving furniture and decorations to keep the space looking beautiful. One of my favourite touches was the lanterns providing candlelight down the garden path and around the guests when it got dark - I hope someone got a picture of it. All of the guests were amazed at how beautiful and private the venue was.
This is now a very long review all to say Alice is amazing and Midelney Manor is truly the most perfect wedding venue. Thank you for everything!

We don't even know where to begin! We had our wedding on the 30th July 2022 and it was just perfect. From the moment we viewed Midelney Manor we were bowled over. Alice was super attentive, knowledgeable and experienced with weddings. She was always there at the end of the phone during the planning process and allowed us to come and visit multiple times with each time so welcoming and never rushing us out the door. The venue is absolutely incredible, you will not find a more beautiful setting.

The accommodation is beautiful and perfect for the two night stay with everything you need. There's enough room for others to stay and more than enough room for a bridal and groom party to get ready, and it's own entrance into the wedding made it feel magical.

Our wedding day went without a hitch and I am so sure it's because of Alice in the background! She welcomed everyone and made sure everyone was in the right place, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes. We had the ceremony in the potting shed and it looked absolutely stunning.

I don't think there is anything we would have changed with our wedding (aside from my nerves!) and we would 100000% recommend Midelney Manor. We loved it and so did our guests who were raving all night long about the venue (and have ever since!).

Our Midelney wedding was entirely faultless.
Midelney as a venue speaks for itself, as soon as we’d stepped foot into the immaculate walled gardens and quirky potting shed we knew it was the perfect place for us to say I do.
There are of course, many different elements to a wedding day. Picking a venue that allows you to have so much choice r.e choosing a florist, caterer, entertainment, etc can be daunting. Alice however was a godsend throughout the whole process, on hand at the end of the phone/ email for any question big or small whether it was 18 months before the wedding or the day before. She took pressure off in the final weeks by liaising with suppliers and sorted all the logistics.
She ensured our day was exactly how we imagined & that it ran perfectly with such a calming, can-do attitude.
