The Mercure Haydock Hotel has recently undergone a multi-million refurbishment.   From the minute you walk through the doors you and your guests will be impressed with our stunning decor and elegant surroundings. 

Externally we have the appearance of a Georgian-style building set within beautifully landscaped gardens.  Internally we offer a modern, yet contemporary luxury.

The Hotel is designed around a courtyard, perfect setting for any romantic occasion.

The Mercure Haydock Hotel has three wedding suites to choose from, all of which are flexible and can be set out to suit your exact requirements. The Grand Marquee, set within the courtyard, is our largest option and can accommodate up to 220 guests. The silk-draped marquee comes complete with its own private bar, sparkling chandeliers and a state-of-the-art Bose sound system.

Alternatively, the Racecourse Suite offers a unique ambience with sophisticated lighting, permanent dance floor and private bar. The suite can hold up to 150 guests for a lively celebration. The Beechers Restaurant which has also benefited from the recent refurbishment is also the perfect setting for smaller, more intimate occasions.

Back home after having had our Wedding Reception in the marquee on Friday 28th August. We wish to thank all the staff for making sure that we ourselves, and all our guests had a wonderful time. The feedback from our family and friends has been very positive. The staff were very well organised all evening and made everything flow so smoothly. Our wedding co-ordinator (Kathryn) is an absolute star and we just love her to bits!! Special thanks to Kathryn for all she has done for us, above and beyond exceptional. The hotel is light, airy and modern with lovely gardens. All rooms more than met our needs and that of guests. As we live near by, we intend to visit on a regular basis and keep in contact with our new friends. Thank you so much for everything that was done

well where do i begin, unbelievable wedding serive from kathy and all staff involved in making our wedding perfect, nothing was too much and all our guest had a fantastic time. staying the friday night and wedding the saturday made for a brilliant weekend for our 170 guests. would highly recomend the marquee for a wedding as it was a beautiful setting. food was brilliant and the day ran so smoothly. thanks to everyone Hannah & Michael Burns

After 2 years of planning and counting down we finally got married at the hotel and it was perfect from start to finish. My wife stayed over the night before in preparation with her bridesmaids and couldn't have been looked after more! Sara on reception made sure she had everything she needed and was the perfect hostess. Not only did she look after my soon to be wife but she was also a level head and a calming force in a somewhat pressured time. A credit to the hotels front of house! Our wedding planner kath was unreal! She made us feel like old friends and the whole day was beyond what we had hoped for and imagined. Kath's experience and knowledge is solid gold! From the first meeting to the last goodbye we felt we had made a friend for life. Nothing was ever too much and she was always there for advice, information or just a chat. Whatever she could do was done! A true star and a credit to the hotel, to herself and the whole wedding team! Another big thank you to both lee and peter (Ross) for ensuring both the day and night ran perfectly. True gentlemen from start to finish. The marquee is an absolutely amazing place and all our guests where bowled over by its beauty. It was the perfect choice of venue for our wedding and we loved every part of it. The whole day from start to finish was perfect and we literally couldn't think of anything we'd have done differently. Thank you to The bar supervisor Kim, Rebecca on the marquee bar and the rest of the bar team for your professional service throughout the day. Always smiling and made our guests feel welcome. From the first visit we fell in love with this stunning venue. On our day the staff were so polite and helpful, nothing we asked was too much for them. Everybody commented on how stunning the place was and how delicious the food was. We had a couple of hiccups which wasn't the venue/staff's fault but they were fantastic at solving them without us knowing a thing until afterwards. Kath (wedding co ordinator) was fantastic through the entire process, from initial viewing to on the day. There was great communication throughout the whole process with her and she really helped pull everything together for us. Thanks so much for an amazing day :)

I got married in the thistle hotel on 25/07/14 and I cannot praise it enough! Right from the beginning I fell in love with the place when I first visited. I never thought it would be in my price range but we worked with Kath the wedding co-ordinator to make it work with our budget. Kath the wedding co-ordinator is amazing by the way! She helped me through the whole process and was always there if I needed anything. She also helped my husband arrange an amazing suprise during the evening reception that I had no idea about, she was a huge help to him. The hotel and grounds are lovely and the rooms were beautiful. Especially the bridal suite which was incredible. On the day Lee (the master of ceremonies) was excellent. He kept me and the groom informed of what was happening and did everything he could do to make the day special. We were made to feel like royalty throughout the whole day. The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and everything went off without a hitch. I had so many comments from the guests about how much they loved the venue and the service they provided. Overall they gave me a perfect wedding day and I cannot thank them enough. xxx

We had our wedding reception at the hotel yesterday. We are writing a review because everyone should know just how special this hotel is. We were made to feel like royalty,truly spoiled. Kath, the wedding coordinator, has simply been amazing from booking to seeing us arrive! Martin and Peter were wonderful throughout the day and everyone just made it magical. Rooms were fabulous and all our guests were complimentary of everything. Thank you Thistle, could not have wished for more.

Me and my wife got married on Friday the 28th of March and we had our reception in the marquee at the hotel! Everything was absolutely incredible, we couldn't say a bad word about the hotel! Everybody who came to the wedding said it was the best wedding they had ever been to! Kathy and Lee were fantastic and so were all the staff, so professional and so welcoming! The venue looked amazing, the food was wicked and the whole day truly couldn't of been organized more to perfection. The location and the grounds are breathtaking and allowed us to have the nicest photos we could of asked for! The facilities are brilliant, the pool, the Jacuzzi, the steam room! My wife actually went for her hen doo in the spa and thoroughly enjoyed herself! The lady who does the treatments was very kind and so lovely! Not one person had a bad word to say about anything, nothing was to much trouble and the thistle hotel Haydock and everybody who was involved were responsible for giving us the greatest day of our lives and one of the most memorable weekends for us and all of our guests, and for the most enjoyable experiences we'll ever have! We would recommend this hotel to anybody! Wonderful place! Thank you so much to everybody once again! Christopher and Laura.

had our wedding reception at the Thistle Haydock in April and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic! Right from choosing the venue at one of their wedding fair events – this was the first place we visited and was our bench mark for other wedding fairs and from the moment we walked through the doors it was welcoming and lovely with really friendly staff and a stunning looking building which made lovely wedding photos. It turned out that for us none of the other venues we went to matched here as they looked lovely but were “clinical” and cold – this cannot be said about any part of The Thistle! Kathy, the Special Events Co-ordinator was fantastic as were here staff who helped run our special day. Kathy was just an email away for anything and nothing was too much trouble for anyone there All my guests complimented us on the venue choice, from its location, style, staff, service and food (the wedding breakfast was delicious – and the evening buffet was fantastic and I was informed by nearly all my guests that the hotpot was one of the best!). Nothing was or could be faulted and one of the best compliments came from a friend of ours who is a top Hotelier in Europe saying it was a fantastic hotel which paid attention to detail! Thank you to all the staff for absolutely everything, you helped make our wedding day perfect!

We had our wedding reception here in October and it was simply fabulous! From the moment we walked into the hotel we knew that this was the place. It's decor is beautiful, it's atmosphere is warm and welcoming and every one of the staff are ALWAYS kind, courteous and attentive. On booking our wedding, we were assigned a wedding coordinator, Kath. We cannot praise Kath enough for everything she did for us, she took all the stress and hassle away and her warm, open and honest approach made our wedding preparations so much more easier. She provided us help and advice on all aspects of the planning and is an absolute star! Our master of ceremonies was Lee, and he was fantastic. He catered to our every need on the day and went out of his way to make our day run smoothly. The food was amazing (and plentiful), not only at the wedding breakfast but also at the buffet and the marquee looked absolutely beautiful. A lot of our guests commented on the excellent quality of the food and at how lovely everything looked. In short, Kath and all the staff played a massive part in helping to make our big day that bit more special, we didn't want our day to end. We looked at so many reception venues and are so glad we found this. We'd like to thank all of the staff for helping to make our special day perfect.

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at the Thistle Haydock and it was a fantastic venue with wonderfully professional, helpful and happy staff. Everyone involved in our special day went out of their way to ensure the event went to plan and everything was taken care of efficiently and with a smile. We couldn't have asked for more. We used the Marquee for our wedding breakfast and evening reception and it was outstanding... and very well heated considering it was a chilly November day outside. We had our wedding reception at this hotel last week. The service we received throughout was excellent. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food served for our wedding breakfast was lovley and all our guests agreed. The honeymoon suite we stayed in was fantastic, well worth the money. Overall we cannot fault this hotel or the staff and would recommend it to anybody.

We had our wedding reception at the Thistle Hotel in October and we would highly recommend the hotel. The staff are all fantastic and went out of their way to make our day perfect, especially Kath, Jonathan and Adam. The food at the wedding breakfast was divine and lots of the guests commented on the quality of the food and table service. The BBQ evening meal also exceeded our expectations and was ideal for a cool October night. The Marquee looked beautiful when dresses, just how I imagined it. Kath was a great help throughout the planning stages and recommended suppliers for every aspect of our wedding and providing advice when needed. We viewed so many wedding venues and we definitely made the right choice. Thank you for making our day perfect in every way.
