A wedding at Glewstone isn’t just beautiful, it feels different, like you’ve been let in on a very good secret.
Maybe it’s the old cedar tree that’s watched over hundreds of vows. Or the way guests seem to settle in and exhale, drink in hand, as the sun dips behind the Wye Valley. It could be the laughter around the the building and manicured grounds heard late into the night, or the moment a father-of-the-bride, glassy-eyed and half-lost in memory, says “You’ve thought of everything.”
We’re known for that! For making it yours. For noticing the quiet stuff. For guiding without taking over.
A Little Bit About Us
We’re a family-run, independent venue in Ross-on-Wye, set within a Grade II listed Georgian country house manor, surrounded by countryside and overlooking the Brecon Beacons. Over the years, we’ve hosted hundreds of weddings, but no two have ever felt the same, and that’s something we value.
Glewstone Court recently won Best Historic Wedding Venue in the West Midlands (2025) at The Wedding Industry Awards, and we’ve held the AA’s highest accolade for quality and service for eight years in a row. But to be honest? The real reward is seeing our couples still dropping in months later, glowing with memories of their special day flooding back.
What It’s Like To Work With Us
From the moment you step through the front door, it’s about you. We’ll sit down with you, get to know your story, your vision and your non-negotiables!
We’ll walk you through the house whilst showing you how the day might unfold, how the courtyard might feel at golden hour, how we can give you a breather between ceremony and speeches or how to make sure you get a moment just the two of you.
Our team, including your dedicated wedding coordinator Charles, is calm, kind, and ruthlessly prepared. We’re creative problem-solvers, early risers, and yes, we’ve always got a safety pin.

Charles, our wedding coordinator, and the rest of the team were so amazing. Our friends and family are still commenting on what a beautiful venue and how helpful the staff were.
The rooms are really lovely and the food is excellent, they cater for every dietary requirement.
Our wedding was more perfect than we could have imagined and we had the most wonderful day, wish we could do it all over again!

The venue of dreams
We wanted a venue that could host us the night before, accommodate the family and wedding party on site and have a beautiful setting with enough room for the guests to have fun and dance in the evening. It was also important that we could have a spectacular ceremony indoors or outdoors, with flexibility depending on the weather.
Glewstone Court has all of this, but the main reason we chose Glewstone Court was because it is an independent, family-run business who are dedicated to making your day spectacular. It probably helps they've even hosted their own family weddings at the venue! You really get to know the team, with Sam and Charles running the day to absolute perfection and Amy planning everything to a T (and with endless patience!). They really get it.
It's really not a 'wedding factory' like some similar venues in the South West. Everything was flexible and tailored, with them even sharing fresh ideas of how to do things different from our first look around.
They also have an in-house catering team who we've had three meals with now and each one has been delicious. We knew the food would be great on the day but it really exceeded expectation.
The whole team are everything and more you could want in a supportive wedding planning and coordinating team. It was weird to say goodbye and we can't wait to return and see them all again.
Amazing Venue, Incredible Service!
All the food was absolutely amazing, from the meal the night before to our wedding breakfast and evening food, and we were especially impressed with the attention to detail concerning our guests with dietary requirements. We chose Heritage Tomato Salad for starter, Roast Lamb Rump for main and Chocolate Cremeux for dessert. We could not have been more impressed with the quality of food served to every one of our guests. Since our wedding over 3 months ago now, our guests are still talking about our wedding breakfast. The lamb especially was a big hit! As well as amazing food, Sam and the team helped organise the serving of our choice of cask beers over the 48 hours of our stay (Butty Bach and HPA), as well as favourite cocktails on their outdoor cocktail bar.
We were lucky enough with the weather to be able to have our ceremony outside overlooking the orchard and also make use of the beautiful courtyard during the evening. These areas really made the venue for us.
We had the most amazing wedding day and couldn't be happier with our experience!

In 2014, my wife Karen and I took on Glewstone Court, turning it into the much-loved wedding and events venue it is today. With a passion for hospitality and a deep appreciation for the house’s history, we’ve worked hard to create a space that feels both welcoming and special.
Over the years, we’ve completely refurbished the venue, earned industry awards including 'Best Historical Wedding Venue in the West Midlands', and achieved recognition for our food and service – including 2 AA Rosettes and the prestigious AA Red Star. In 2023, we took the next step, making Glewstone Court an exclusive-use wedding and events venue, ensuring every couple and guest has a truly personal experience.
For us, it’s more than just a business – it’s a home away from home, and we love sharing the beauty of Glewstone Court with others as they celebrate life’s most important moments.
As co-owner of Glewstone Court, I’ve been part of its journey since 2014, when my husband Gary and I took on this beautiful country house. While I work more behind the scenes, I’m incredibly proud of what my family have built - a family-run venue where couples can celebrate life’s most important moments.
Over the years, we’ve carefully restored and refined the house, ensuring it maintains its charm while offering the highest standards of hospitality. Seeing Glewstone Court grow into an award-winning wedding and events venue has been incredibly rewarding, and I love knowing that so many couples have made lifelong memories here.
Though you might not see me front and center, I’m always invested in making sure Glewstone Court remains a warm, welcoming, and truly special place.
As Events Director and Wedding Planner at Glewstone Court, I’m here to make sure every wedding and event is flawlessly planned and beautifully executed. From the moment a couple books with us, I guide them through the planning process, helping to bring their vision to life while ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
I love the details - whether it’s perfecting the timeline, coordinating with suppliers, or making sure every personal touch is just right. My goal is to take the stress out of planning so couples can truly enjoy their wedding journey, knowing they’re in safe hands.
Seeing everything come together on the big day is the best part of my job. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching couples celebrate with their loved ones, knowing we’ve helped create memories that will last a lifetime.
