Beautiful and unique venue

Our dream venue in every way! We were looking for somewhere unique, relaxed, bright and flexible and that's exactly what we got (and more!). I think every guest commented on what a stunning and fun venue it was (we took advantage of having the steam train running for guests and used the outdoor space to have garden games and space hoppers). It was great to be able to tailor the day and venue to suit us exactly. The venue can be dressed as you like but we kept things simple to show off the beauty of the venue and surroundings. We had brilliant suppliers, some from suggestion of the venue and some we found ourselves.
Emma was wonderful to work with, really keen to make our dream day a reality and so accommodating when we had to rearrange twice due to the pandemic, I'm sure she must have been brilliant on the day too as it all came together like magic and we didn't have to do a thing!

Beautiful, unique and best venue

The venue is beautiful, unique and we had sooo many guests in fact all the guests and vendors tell us how wonderful it was to attend/work in a place so lovely.

Equally brilliant are the staff. So helpful and accommodating right from the get go. They really show their passion for the venue and clearly just want you to have the best day and we did!

Also the history of the place is amazing we signed our marriage certificate in the cartridge that Churchill and Eisenhower used to travel in!

We also hired the steamy rain and the guests absolutely loved the this too.

We honestly can’t rave enough about how amazing the venue and staff are!

Remarkable venue!

This venue is a “hidden gem” and is a truly epic destination to host your wedding. The stunning natural light that beams through the glass ceiling, the beautiful steam trains and vintage signage, gives this venue a real Wes Anderson vibe that people won’t forget. A dry hire venue, where you can bring in your own caterers and bar suppliers at such affordable rates is a rare find. You can decorate it as you wish, though really very little is needed in this charming space. We didn’t make any sacrifices for our big day - sit down meal for over 125 guests, free bar, and live music - and we still came in budget. The dancefloor area is huge so we could have a stage in for the band and well as create seating areas around the dancefloor for people who prefer to sit and watch. We even bought a sofa in! You have a great outdoor space, whatever the weather, thanks to the canopy. Even when people are outside smoking / vaping, the dancefloor and bar are right next door, so you don’t feel disconnected and people can easily pop in and out. The staff cannot do enough for you. They are communicative, flexible, happy and helpful. They have a great supplier to sort all of your AV needs for speeches, music, staging etc. We also used their local recommended suppliers for glassware, crockery, extra fridges etc (did I mention it was a free bar?) and all were excellent. We ran a train service after the wedding which was worth every penny. First, our own private journey where we returned to guests on the platform for the confetti throw. Then, when guests got on board, it was the perfect opportunity for the Bride and Groom to greet everyone as a captive audience in the carriages, meaning we could relax and enjoy the rest of our day organically afterwards. It warms my heart to know the love and care that goes into the preservation of the stream trains, a wonderful part of British heritage. Thank you so much to the Quainton Queens Belinda, Emma and team. We wish we could do it all again!

If you’re looking for a venue with character, flexibility, and an unforgettable experience, we highly recommend the railway centre 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We recently held our wedding at the railway centre, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. From the moment we first reached out to Emma to enquire about the venue, we were met with incredibly helpful information and advice that made the planning process so much easier.

One of the aspects we loved most about this venue was the flexibility to bring in our own suppliers, such as caterers and bars, allowing us to create a day that truly reflected our unique style. Our guests couldn’t stop telling us how much fun they had and how they’d never been to a wedding quite like ours before.

A standout feature was hiring the steam train for two hours—it was an unforgettable highlight for both adults and children. Would highly recommend paying slightly extra for this.

We are now lifetime supporters of the railway museum and plan to return every year to celebrate our marriage. A massive thank you to Emma and Belinda for your incredible help and enthusiasm in making our day so smooth and memorable. We couldn’t have done it without you!

An absolute dream. What a venue!

There are not enough words for this venue. What a truly special place. In fact this venue is the reason we moved our wedding planning into motion. We fell in love with it instantly!
Belinda and Sarah are absolute diamonds and nothing was too much trouble. Belinda helped us through 101 questions and was there all day on the day to make sure everything went smoothly.
Everyone adored the venue and it really made for such a beautiful event. I highly recommend hiring the steam train too - what a unique touch to add.
Our wedding photos didn't even need any added drama as the venue did that for us. I could talk for an hour about how stunning this venue is and just how well it lends itself to an intimate wedding ceremony and party. Thank you a million times over for everything. ❤️❤️❤️

An absolute gem of a venue

We couldn't have picked a more perfect venue for our wedding if we tried. As wild card venues go this one really does have everything, we had our whole day here from ceremony, wedding breakfast through to dancing the night away.
From the very first interaction Belinda and her team were wonderful, nothing was too much of an ask and they continually went above and beyond. We were looped in with vendors who the venue had recommended but we were also allowed to bring in others if we so wished.
The venue is so unique it really doesn't need any decorating, so other than some personal touches we didn’t have to go mad. We got married in November and we were worried about it being dark the venue just came even more to life at night, we were also worried it might get a little chilly, but the inside is heated. We had the steam train for our guest to ride on whilst we were off taking photos which went down an absolute treat.
Even when faced with roadworks due to HS2 on the day, Belinda made contact as to how I could let all our guest know how to still get to the venue.
We live locally, and this venue now has a very special place in our hearts, all of our guest left commenting on how wonderful the venue was, even mutterings of the best wedding they been to.

Our advice if you’re thinking about booking here for your big day DO IT! You will not regret it!

Perfect and unique wedding venue

We had the most amazing wedding at the Railway Centre at the start of October. Growing up in Quainton I knew the Railway Centre was the perfect venue for our wedding. Belinda and the team were helpful and on hand to answer all our questions. Selecting all our own vendors allowed for us to make the day exactly how we wanted it. All our guests loved the venue. The pictures we have from the day show the character of the venue. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone thinking of getting married somewhere a little different. It truly was a perfect day!

Unique, timeless and fun

We held our wedding and reception here on a beautiful spring day in April 2023. We wanted a unique and fun venue that could host both wedding and reception and my husband loves steam trains so it ticked a lot of boxes! The ability to hire your own vendors enabled us to have a truly special day that was tailored to our tastes, including a BBQ caterer, churros cart and a band. We also paid to have a steam train running after the ceremony which all of our guests loved. I recommend the bride and groom head straight to the train after the ceremony and have a few minutes to yourselves. By the time we made the return journey all our guests were on the platform waving us in ready for the confetti toss and was a highlight of our day. Their chairs, benches and tables are perfect for the ceremony and reception, so no need to hire in your own and so many props you can make use of, such as milk churns and bicycles and vintage suitcases for floral arrangements. You really don't need to go overboard with the decorations as it's just beautiful as is and it would detract from the character! There are so many great locations for photos too so make sure you have a walk round with your photographer and scope them out as it's a big site. Emma the events coordinator was so supportive and responsive and offered lots of advice and also did a wonderful job of helping us clear away at the end of the night. We had a wonderful day and I would definitely recommend the venue over and over again!

An incredible venue and a perfect wedding

My partner and I had our wedding at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre last weekend - from visiting the venue's wedding fair in December 2021 to waving goodbye on the evening of the wedding, we had a wonderful experience.

Emma, the functions manager, is an asset to the Railway Centre - she has so much patience with all manner of questions, and always has the answer/will work something out if not. She was on-site the day before to help take deliveries/advise us on set-up, and was also around on the wedding day to make sure things were running smoothly. We had a few hiccups (none of which were the fault of the venue!), and Emma was there to help when needed. We really appreciated her, and the wider team at the Centre. They also helped clear up whilst we were on the dancefloor - making our job so much quicker before heading off home!

As for the venue itself, it truly speaks for itself - it's absolutely stunning. Our guests loved it, and the steam train we hired for after the ceremony was such a special experience. If you're looking for a unique venue where you can have a lot of control over exactly how your day looks, I would recommend the Centre without hesitation. I can't wait to drop back in and relive our perfect day.

Perfect Setting

We held our wedding ceremony and reception at the centre. Emma was fantastic to deal with from start to finish. We loved this venue as it requires very little room dressing due to all the items already in the centre. we were also lucky enough to have a steam engine on the day as well for our guests to ride on after the ceremony . Would recommend this venue to anyone looking for something a little different on their special day

A wonderful day

We had such a lovely and happy day at my daughters wedding. The staff were really helpful and professional from the first enquiry to the end of the wedding da y its self. Many of our guests told us that it was one of the best and happiest weddings they had been to. The train rides added to the day and the space outside enabled the children to expel their energy. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone who's looking for a fabulous experience.

A wedding like no other!

Look no further, you have stumbled across what is likely the best and most unique venue, coordinated by the most fantastic team.
Not only were Belinda and her team responsive, proactive, and ludicrously helpful in the run up (a stressful time), but their help and coordination on the day was brilliant. Belinda even helping to give our DJ and the registrars a thumbs up when it was time to walk down the Isle.
The platform is the perfect shape and width for a wedding isle, flanked by gorgeous historic carriages and steam locomotive. And the lighting and bunting Belinda coordinated for us for spot on.
I would definitely recommend booking the steam train, even if you're not an enthusiast. We took our champagne in the Victorian coaches, talked with different friends on each ride up, and conversed at length with the loco crew. It was a surprise to everyone who didn't realise there would be one running on the actual day.
Signing of our vows was in a railway carriage used by Winston Churchill, and Dwight D Eisenhower. A great opportunity for pictures, but we could wave through the windows or the carriage to our guests.
Now. I suggest you stop reading my review. You ring Belinda and her team, and get yourself booked in with the most fantastic venue (and coordinating team) that is worth every penny spent. There is nothing I can fault.
They even have an arsenal of items to use. And recommendations of who to use. photo is from the end of the night and doesn't do it justice. Go visit!

Fantastic Experience

Buckinghamshire railway centre were fantastic from start to finish. We were able to use our own suppliers, including an inflatable obstacle course, bouncy castle, ceilidh band and hire of a steam train. We were also able to order a custom headboard from an external supplier to fit to the train for the day. The staff at the centre were fantastic and took time to talk to our guests about the history of the centre. A fully customisable experience, great communication with the coordinator (Belinda) at a unique venue that all our guests loved!

A wonderful experience at a unique venue

We were looking for a unique venue for our wedding reception, and were delighted we found Buckinghamshire Railway Centre - which we fell in love with straight away.
All our guests enjoyed spending time during the day exploring the site and museum, and taking rides on the steam train. Emma and team were delightful to work with, from our first meeting to our big day - and were on hand throughout to help us and our guests with anything we needed.
If you want a venue that is unique, flexible, and will have all your guests (including children!) talking about the day many months after, we can't recommend this venue enough.
