This was such a beautiful location to celebrate in. We really appreciated the fantastic job the museum's Wedding Planner did for us and how amazing all the staff were on the day. We will remember the occasion forever. Everything went perfectly. We were highly pleased, and it has had a lasting positive impact on our families and guests.
Looking back at the other venues we viewed and the timescales involved, it feels like a privilege to have celebrated our marriage in the museum. Thank you all the team, those working on the evening and everyone else involved. Simply brilliant

We had our wedding at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery on 20 March 2026, and it was honestly beyond anything we could have imagined, truly a 100/10 experience.

From the very beginning, Tillie made the entire process feel effortless and stress-free. She was always quick to reply, incredibly organised, and made us feel completely calm and supported throughout. We had multiple meetings leading up to the day, which really helped us feel relaxed and confident that everything was in hand. Tillie is so chatty, kind, and genuinely cares, she said yes to all of my (sometimes crazy!) ideas and made them happen.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning, so grand and unique, it made the whole day feel incredibly special. One of the most unbelievable moments was how quickly the space transformed. The museum closed at 4:30pm, and by 6pm it had been completely turned into the most beautiful wedding setting, it was honestly incredible to see.

The team were outstanding. Thom, the events manager, completely understood my vision and brought it to life perfectly. Even while we were off having photos, I made a few last-minute changes and the team handled everything so quickly and seamlessly, it made such a difference knowing we could trust them completely.

Speaking of photos, having full access to the museum was just amazing. We were given a tour guide to help us find our way around, and there are so many stunning backdrops and settings throughout the building. One of our favourite personal touches was being able to display photos of ourselves in the gallery alongside all the beautiful artwork, it was such a special and unique detail.

The food deserves a huge mention, it was absolutely incredible. Everything tasted amazing, there was a great range of options, and the portions were generous. The chef was so helpful, especially accommodating guests who were vegetarian or had allergies, which made everything feel easy and inclusive. We also had a food tasting as part of our package, which was such a fun experience and really added to the excitement.

Every supplier we brought in was made to feel so welcome, and the team were helpful and accommodating throughout. We were also able to drop everything off at a time that worked for us during the week of the wedding, which made things so much less stressful.

A special shoutout to Mitch the DJ, who was fantastic. The music was perfect all night, and he was so kind, relaxed, and easy to work with, he really helped keep the atmosphere fun from start to finish.

We also had an audio guest book, and the team handled setting it all up for us, which was one less thing to worry about and meant we could just enjoy the day.

Overall, we genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything ran so smoothly, the team went above and beyond, and we felt supported every step of the way. I would definitely recommend this team to absolutely everybody and anyone, we’re so grateful for everything they did to make our day so special. All our guests agreed with us too.

Bristol Museum was a truly fantastic wedding venue! From our first meeting and tour with Tillie, she was incredibly informative and also truly listened to our own ideas and twists that we wanted to put on a traditional wedding. Throughout planning and right through to the wedding day, everyone at the venue was amazing. We had a lot of complex dietary requirements and the kitchen were superb at supporting us and working with us to meet these, and all of our guests still keep commenting on how amazing the food was! We didn’t have a big budget for our wedding and the museum was perfect for this whilst being amazing value for money and maximum impact as it’s such a beautiful setting. They were brilliant with helping us to plan and prepare for our big day including helping us unload and unpack lots of homemade decorations and even managing to accommodate a last minute request of an extra guest on the day!
Everyone says how stressful planning a wedding can be and we can confidently say that if you have your wedding at Bristol Museum, they will take so much stress off your plate and enable you to really enjoy the planning and your celebrations.

We were incredibly chuffed with how everything went on the big day, as well as everything before and after. You guys organised everything perfectly,

Zoe was great at handling everything which really took the pressure off me, All the team worked well for us, so well organised and flexible.

Feedback from our guests was that they loved the venue, impressed with the exhibits, loved the food, and that it was just a great space to celebrate in.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the chaps name who opened the bar and called people through, but he was great. The team put us at ease whilst we were having photos in the galleries.

Generally, everything was in place and organised such that we did not need to think about it, which was perfect for us and we cannot thank you guys enough.

We had an absolutely brilliant party on Saturday night. I thought it was just a brilliant night and all our guests had a cracking time. It all went swimmingly, and I think everyone there had a great deal of fun!

Many thanks again for putting it all together and for all your help in organising the evening. All the team were great in making it such a stress free event. Everyone commented on how beautiful the museum looked as well.

As we had our ceremony on the SS Great Britain we loved the idea of having 2 venues that were really Bristolian. Plus when we visited the museum it just too our breath away that we could have that venue for that price. Such a special place.

• Did the venue have any special memories or meaning for you as a couple or yours guests?
Like I said as above, we are both proud Bristolians born and bread so we loved that we had our reception in such an iconic Bristolian venue. Half of my family travelled from London so they thought it was amazing to see such a great part of Bristol and our Bristol family said they wouldn't have known it was possible to have a wedding reception there and that it felt so grand.

• What was your favourite thing about hosting your reception at Bristol Museum?
The staff were just awesome, Will was so helpful he couldn't have done anymore for us. But it was the venue, the pure look of it, it just felt special. Once we put our spin on it with the decorations we thought it looked amazing! It was the little things i.e. from picking the colour of the lights that made it just perfect. We wish we could do it all again!

• How did you find the service you received, both in the run up to your evening and on the night?
First class! Nothing short of that. Even after the event, when picking up our bits and bobs, the service was perfect until the end.

We had the most wonderful wedding reception at Bristol Museum. The staff were all very cheerful and helpful, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The buffet was delicious and there was plenty of it for all our 300 guests!

When planning our wedding reception at Bristol Museum, Cassie Penticost was so professional, organised and delightful to work with. She was also very helpful and calm when we needed to change the order of events close to the date.

We are so pleased we chose to have our wedding reception at Bristol Museum. It is a unique and stunning venue, and many of our guests commented on how beautiful it was.
