Ceremonies with SJ is a Toastmaster based in Reading, Berkshire

I was born and raised in West Sussex, with deep roots in my Sikh faith and Punjabi heritage, both of which continue to shape how I see the world and connect with others. I’m fluent in Punjabi and French, a gift that’s grown through my time living and working across Europe, and one that adds richness and perspective to everything I do.

My journey in Learning & Development has given me the joy of supporting people from all walks of life. Whether I’m guiding individuals or speaking to a room full of people, I always aim to communicate with clarity, empathy, and authenticity. These same qualities guide my work as and toastmaster, where I have the privilege of leading weddings, life celebrations, and formal events with warmth, professionalism, and care.

I’m naturally organised and detail-oriented, with a background in project management that helps me bring thoughtfulness and structure to every experience I’m part of. People often describe me as honest, adaptable, and deeply people-focused, qualities that have also led me to spend time volunteering and organising community fundraising events, which are close to my heart.

Outside of work, I love exploring new places, staying active, and discovering new foods. Whether in my personal life or professional world, I’m always seeking connection, inspiration, and a sense of balance.
